@QueenKay the 3 black wires and 1 white twist together , the 3 red and 1 yellow twist together , fresh batteries then turn on the box and press the touch pad , if its not lighting you may have a dud

Really helpful video. I have my lights working but want to improve the setup. I have a battery box with a 6 hour timer function. It uses 2 AA batteries. Can I use it instead of the battery box that came with the kit which uses 2 AAA batteries? Would AA batteries be too “strong” for the lights? Is this even an issue? I just finished putting mine together and i had it on for a couple of hours before turning it off for the night. Now today, the top light has stopped working. I changed the batteries but still no luck. Do u have any idea of what might have happened? Or how i can fix it?
That is very unusual if it was working , you have a loose connection somewhere by the sounds of it , you will need to check the wiring to each light which won't be easy unfortunately
@@buildingwiththeboys yeah and it doesn’t help that i used super glue! It’s a lost cause at this point. Just trying to think of other ideas to replace the top light…
So I'm hoping you have the answer to this but I'm completely stumped with the doorframe on step 22. Its the frame that lines the inside of the bookstore. I found the frame itself but yours looks like it has extra pieces on to make it pop if that makes sense. I cant find any of those pieces and the manual doesnt tell me what pieces to add on. I looked back thinking I missed the assembly of that piece but the manual shows it put together already as if I'm supposed to know what to do. Can you help please??
This is awesome, thank you!! How long did it take you to make Time Travel vs Sunshine Town? For a beginner, is one of them significantly easier than the other?
@@buildingwiththeboys awesome thank you! Aside from the glue applicator tip and the paint pen, do you recommend any other special tools to make it easier?
The one thing I needed to know was the only step not shown in the tutorial 🙈 I got to the battery box but my holes done line up. I did everything exactly the way you did and the way the instructions said so I don’t understand why my screw holes don’t line up with the touch pad
Hiya, found the screws all good but mystified by instructions at the end of your video to do with wiring cos I can’t find any mention of 2nd light and it’s yellow and white wires , can you help?
@buildingwiththeboys hi! Do you happen to know what KIND of glue Robotime provides in their kits? I absolutely love it, it’s the best I’ve tried, and I want to buy more, but I’ve no idea what to search for! All the clear craft glue I’ve tried thus far has been inferior to Robotime glue… thanks!
I started on this project today and am using Elmer's white glue diluted 50/50 with alcohol to make it easier to work with, applying it with a small paintbrush. I was going to use the glue that came with the kit, but I took a look at it and it's half dried into a solid block like it's way out of date! :0 :0 :0
It took about 5hrs , I do have the latest one to build "falling sakura" that will be up on the channel tomorrow, there is a brand called "cutebee" that do some nice nooks
Thank you so much for this video!! Is there anybody else who is not able to activate this shitty touch pad ? I tried everything, is there a way to avoid this pad completely?
Have you checked that the batteries are the correct way around and that the battery box is turned on ? If yes try pressing the switch from underneath and see if the light comes on
Did you have to paint the main front frame with the ‘sunshine town’ logo? Mine came as wood but all images show it as white, not like the other parts that came already white in the kit.
With the wires at the end of each one are multiple tiny wires. Would the loss of three of the tiny ones from one large wire be the reason for my lights not working?
Can someone please help me? With the wiring I don’t have a white or yellow wire, I only have one thin red and one thin black wire and the same for the ones at the back but thick. I did the twisting and with the tape but the light won’t turn on. Please, I desperately need a response. Thankyou

Are you supposed to cut the wires shorter? They are a big mess in the back for me. The lights work but they aren’t taught. Thank you for this tutorial!
I suppose there is no reason why you couldn't, just make sure they reach
Hi, just got this kit. Saw that you used the papercut flower shapes but cannot figure out how they are used from the instructions. Can you explain how you use them? Thsnks
You just slip the ends of the stems through and slide the flower up to the bud
Thank you so so much!! The paper manual is way too confusing for anyone to figure out 😭😭
I just finished putting mine together and i had it on for a couple of hours before turning it off for the night.
Hiya, finding this super helpful but am unclear about where the screws go with the installation of the battery pack?
The chip screws to the fron panel at the bottom
Cute! Where does one buy one of these? I have only seen them on Instagram ads...
Amazon, search "rolife book nook" and the options will come up
This is awesome, thank you!! How long did it take you to make Time Travel vs Sunshine Town? For a beginner, is one of them significantly easier than the other?
About 3 hours to make time machine, of the three I have built sunshine town is the most complicated
@@buildingwiththeboys awesome thank you! Aside from the glue applicator tip and the paint pen, do you recommend any other special tools to make it easier?
@@theonewiththeplaylist622 decent set of tweezers and you will be all set
The one thing I needed to know was the only step not shown in the tutorial 🙈 I got to the battery box but my holes done line up. I did everything exactly the way you did and the way the instructions said so I don’t understand why my screw holes don’t line up with the touch pad
How did you attach B6 and B7 to the café board?
If you send a pic of the parts to buildingwiththeboys@outlook.com I may be able to help
Hiya, found the screws all good but mystified by instructions at the end of your video to do with wiring cos I can’t find any mention of 2nd light and it’s yellow and white wires , can you help?
No worries, I worked it out, hurrah
Hi I've bought summer breeze book nook to take on a break with me. Whyat other tools would you recommend i take with me 🎉 think you
Tweezers , a scapel or craft knife , batteries !!! , a emery board for nails is great for sanding the parts, back up superglue
@@buildingwiththeboys than you that's great 😁
Ww can't get the back set of lights to work. Any suggestions?
You have a loose connection , trace the rear light wires back to where the connect and retwist them together
Thank you. Great help.
I’m so confused. Is there a film over the windows you have to remove first? Because it says so in the instructions but I can’t peel anything off
Yes there is a film on the windows
Thank you so much with this video.
You're very welcome
Thank you for that video! my lights are working but are quite faint. does that depend on the batteries?
Yes fresh batteries will make a difference
@buildingwiththeboys hi! Do you happen to know what KIND of glue Robotime provides in their kits? I absolutely love it, it’s the best I’ve tried, and I want to buy more, but I’ve no idea what to search for! All the clear craft glue I’ve tried thus far has been inferior to Robotime glue… thanks!
Sadly no I don't but I absolutely agree , the glue provided is fantastic!
I started on this project today and am using Elmer's white glue diluted 50/50 with alcohol to make it easier to work with, applying it with a small paintbrush. I was going to use the glue that came with the kit, but I took a look at it and it's half dried into a solid block like it's way out of date! :0 :0 :0
I really love this book nook!
How long did it take you to make?
And do you know of any other brands?
It took about 5hrs , I do have the latest one to build "falling sakura" that will be up on the channel tomorrow, there is a brand called "cutebee" that do some nice nooks
@@buildingwiththeboys thank you so much! Will look into them :)
Thank you for your lightening speed response too! 😁⚡
I have an issue, one of the black wires on the circuit oard isn't attached! Have you had this issue? Is it fixable?
It can be soldered back on
@@buildingwiththeboys thanks! A job for the husband,I'm blind as a bat! 😂
Thank you so much for this video!! Is there anybody else who is not able to activate this shitty touch pad ? I tried everything, is there a way to avoid this pad completely?
Have you built the sakura one yet? Like my girlfriend and me have been trying to fit it all together and it's really not working. Any advice?
I haven't built it yet but will be doing it very very soon
What are the little pull out flowers for. You see it all through the book. In the post box there is one.
It's an instruction to tell you which way the printed side of the piece goes
Can you roughly estimate how many hours would take for a beginner to complete this? Noone says this in the comment section.
Thanks.
4-6 hrs
The kit I ordered has a chinese manual - would you know where i could get and English one? Robotime not responding!
You don't really need it , the translation isn't great , the images are all you really need as a guide
Could you help me, I connected the wires as you instructed but the light doesn't work?
Have you checked that the batteries are the correct way around and that the battery box is turned on ? If yes try pressing the switch from underneath and see if the light comes on
Ohh thank you thsnk you, was losing the will to live with their paintbrush!
Did you have to paint the main front frame with the ‘sunshine town’ logo? Mine came as wood but all images show it as white, not like the other parts that came already white in the kit.
I dont like tge way the heat-shrink tubing ended up so visible and prominent. You'd have to make an unreasonably neat job of it for that to look good.
With the wires at the end of each one are multiple tiny wires. Would the loss of three of the tiny ones from one large wire be the reason for my lights not working?
Yes it would , you need all the wires to be connected
@@buildingwiththeboys first thank you so much for answering and I was wondering is there anyway to fix it?
@Spook you can strip away about 2cm of the plastic covering the wire exposing fresh wires , twist those together and it should solve your problem
@@buildingwiththeboys thank you so much, it works!!!
Just a detail: on the first step it doesn’t say to paint the borders of the sign, just the edges of the bird 😅
Where did you get the precision nozzle for the glue?
Amazon , just search precision applicator bottle
Can someone please help me? With the wiring I don’t have a white or yellow wire, I only have one thin red and one thin black wire and the same for the ones at the back but thick. I did the twisting and with the tape but the light won’t turn on. Please, I desperately need a response. Thankyou
This book nook was also my third. By far the WORST one for me. Look wise, it's fine. I bought it for the cats. But the quality of everything was so poor. Everything was breaking, the glue doesn't hold and the wood was so mishapen. I mostly enjoy building it, and would have had a better experience if everything was a bit better. Sakura Densya is by far my favourite!
Followed your steps with the wires and it still won't work. New batteries too 😢
Have you tried turning it on with the flat of your thumb?
