A Tour Of BODRUM, TURKEY | Is It Worth Visiting?
Some people have complained about the music and asked why I didn't use Turkish music. The reason is that there are restrictions regarding music that is used in videos for RUclips. Basically, you can't use any music that is copyrighted or your video will be demonetized. So most RUclipsrs, including myself, get the music they use from certain sources that offer music that isn't copyrighted, for example the RUclips audio library which offers free music for RUclipsrs to use. Plus I pay a monthly fee for Epidemic Sound, a website that creates music that can be used in RUclips videos. Point being, you are limited by what you can find from those few sources of music. And unfortunately there often isn't music that is specific to certain countries, so you have to use something else. I searched for Turkish music, but there was nothing distinctly Turkish. Here's a video with more info about using music in RUclips videos: ruclips.net/video/vVXMfASGaUs/видео.html
Dont worry about it our people sometimes can get triggered over small things (in internet)

@@Chloe-hu9tf What do you mean "Turkey has a history?" ? What do you think ? Did we come from the Mars last year ?
All of Turkey is full of antiquities of ancient Greece and Alexander the Great. The guides boldly report that they were made by "ancient Turks"! But the Turks were populations that appeared in the area a thousand years ago today. It is nothing made of their "culture". Everything was made by the peoples who slaughtered.
Daria angry Greek. You eat Turkish food for living and make Turkish style music
Visited both Turkey and Greece. Had a very bad experience in Greece, most people are rasist, especially if you are of a dark skin tone. Will never ever ever visit Greece again. Turkey, on the other hand is an amazing country with extraordinary hospital people. Definitely visiting Turkey again. Greetings from Sweden.

Thank you, that's very kind of you💕🌼
you are such a liar, first of all no one in the Balkans is racist against darker skin people,Greeks themselfs do have dark skin kinda mostly because of the sun and all this oil they put on their skin during the summer, attetokumbo himself is an afro American just like thanasis attetokumbo ane they both got all the help they needed from the Greeks when they were young, there are racists in all places,I am an Albanian and even tho Albanian Greek relationship isn't at its best still I've never incountered racism, also I do not remember the Swedish colonizing Africa ,and for an African would be very hard to even live in Sweden due to the temperatures, just like I couldn't live in Africa for example because my skin isn't prepared for such a hight temperatures and I would basically get sunburn all the time,it's ok if you hate a country,it's your choice afterall, but do not say bull$h|t

Look very beautyful, haven't been there
You are in Turkey and teaching Greek words? 😂😂😂
Bodrum also known for its boat building especially the “Gulet”
All the best Gabriel
You should have practiced some Turkish while filming in Turkey, instead of walking through a Turkish town and keep mentioning Greek and Greece. It was pretty annoying even for non Turks.
A better title for your video is: a tour in Bodrum city old center | is it worth it?
Bodrum has plenty of beautiful bays, each with their own characteristics. Like Gündogan, Türkbükü, Akyarlar, Gümüslük,..
The title of your video does not represent the video content, as you claim a TOUR Of Bodrum, but actually you just walked around a bit in the old city center.
However, Bodrum doesn't need more PR as it is crowded enough during high season.
Bagdagul Temur 👏👏😷😢
You don't seem very friendly as people thing of Turkish people.
Everywhere Greece ,Hellas
My friend @Mrt Vrk it was one of the most famous Greek center in ancient Greek period like all pontos and Asia minor these are land of Greeks since 2.500 B.C
@Mrt Vrk the really name of bodrum is Alikarnasos Αλικαρνασσός
and what exactly are you trying to tell us? I think everyone in the world is aware that Greeks lived in many parts of today’s turkey. But that was in the past.
Nice looking place there Gabe.. Not surprised there are Greek ruins in Turkey. The ancient Greeks occupied the entire region.. Safe Travels... :)
You are so mistaken... Never occupied by Greeks! Because its simply the Greeks land; because the Greeks were there since ever, no one was living there except Greeks from the beginning, neither Greeks never conquered any other nation in this region of the world during ancient times, even prehistoric period. Therefore, Greeks were there from the beginning with their most great civilization, mathematics, astronomy, health and sciences! Of course before Romans, before Persians come to conquer Greeks... Its so easy to learn today all about the history and facts I referred to you.
Mar Kav by definition to inhabit a region is to occupy it and the tribal people that were there...
Andrexuman your assumption is that there was no one living in the current day Turkey????.. So the ancient Greeks were there alone... ok sounds plausible..
According to historical maps, the Byzantine (Ancient Greeks) included all of modern day turkey, Greece, southern Italy and northern regions in Africa..
Mar Kav Correct to a point... Ancient Greeks ruled the region but there were other tribes scattered all over the region. We must not forget the people from other regions traveled for trade and some settled there.. I agree the Persians came much later, after they themselves were defeated earlier by Alexander. The entire region of Italy, Greece, Turkey had many ruling cultures over time..
Lot of Greek History there!Nice Video!Keep going!
Beautiful Bodrum!
Thank you for another excellent video.
I have been inspired by your videos to travel through eastern Europe from north to south. A month ago I flew from England to Estonia and I have been travelling by coach and train via Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and am currently in Budapest, Hungary with Greece my ultimate destination.
I'm not tech savvy but I hope to use some old fashioned technology and write up my journey after the event.
As a newbie to these trips I'm surprised how physically demanding they are, all my belongings on my back like a snail with its shell, lots of walking which takes its toll on the legs. I'm impressed that you can keep this up month in month out year after year.
Best wishes, Mike.
That's awesome man, enjoy the journey. Depending on when you get to Greece it might be low season, which can be good. Things will still be happening through most of October, but by the end of October it will be pretty dead on the islands. Still can be fun to explore without many other people around and accommodation will be cheaper. A lot of places will be closed though.
Hello, Welcome to Turkey. I hope you are satisfied
Walked with you in the morning, I have been in Turkey but I haven’t been in Bodrum
The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus was one of the 7 ancient wonders of the world
yes but england has stole the ruins.
and it was greek
@@mertay321 No. The mausoleum was destroyed by earthquakes and the stones were used in the construction of the fortress guarding the bay (Bodrum Kalesi). You can literally see ancient greek written on some of the stone upside down on castle walls.
@@quantumparadox3075 No it wasn’t. The mausoleum, although designed by Greek architects, was built by and for Mausolus, a native Anatolian from Caria and a satrap in the Achaemenid Empire who earlier conquered the native Anatolian kingdom of Lycia from where the design actually originates. Lycians were also not Greek, but Anatolian natives speaking a form of Luwian language.
Not everything in Turkey originates from Greeks, despite the Greeks’ claims.

17:40 it is called "sarnıç" in Turkish and it is basically used to collect rain water for summer since ancient times. Bodrum's Sarnıç's are mostly dated back to 200 years or so. You can find it all around Bodrum. They are not in use right now because of modern plumbing system but some still filled with water. It also keep water very cold and they had significant temperature difference from outside so they sometimes used as fridges like purposes as well.
That's the kind of thing I like to learn about when I travel! :)
This seems very much like Greece. Which is obvious since the very long Greek presense the city has had. I wonder how many Greeks lived there before the population exchange

We were there this summer visiting my wife's family and really enjoyed our trip.
