Sideshow presents the Thanos (Classic & Modern Version) Statue, eager to face the heroes of the Avengers Assemble Statue Collection.
Inspired by some of Marvel’s most iconic comic book characters, the 1:5 scale Avengers Assemble collection captures the colorful and battle-ready styles of Earth’s Mightiest heroes- and now, their greatest foe!
The polyresin Thanos (Classic Version) Statue measures 23” tall, as the Mad Titan stands triumphantly atop the wreckage of Avengers Tower. Inspired by his classic comic book appearance, Thanos wears a fully sculpted vibrant blue bodysuit with detailed metallic yellow armor. Wielding the mighty Infinity Gauntlet, which includes a light-up feature for the Infinity Stones, this nigh-unstoppable villain will prove that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are no match for the ultimate cosmic overlord.
The Thanos Statue also includes two purple portraits of the deviant Eternal, one featuring his signature wicked grin as he gazes up at his powerful gauntlet, the other with a grimace as he looks forward at his incoming foes. This is a close one but I’m gonna go with the comic version. That more of a yellowish color stands out for me.
Gem, your videos are becoming more sophisticated in terms of visuals, transitions, even your voiceovers, mad props to you for that. Keep hustling brotha.
I'm surprised there aren't more paint issues. As a kit builder and painter, I'm amazed at the job these companies do at scale. A few paint chips or irregularities should almost be the norm. It's super hard to paint at that quality level and make it perfect. I'm always looking for videos on what the factory looks like as they paint these. You'd be amazed. Great video, Gem!
Bowen Designs was superb about avoiding paint issues throughout all their lines for over a decade. Still unsurpassed for quality control.

The classic is a solid piece. But I gotta go with that Modern honestly.
Modern version, for me. He looks more menacing and realistic, especially with the grin.
The sculpt is amazing. I’m digging the modern look more, l feel the details just pop more.

Thank you Josh and Jess Phelps for helping provide this double statue review. I really like both of these statues a lot. I think I like the modern version just a little bit more, but the comic version would look better with my collection so I'd lean to that.

The classic version is definitely the way to go IMO. That blue just pops.

With the side by side I think I’m leaning towards the comic version even though the modern has incredible paint application in regards to the shading in the body which looks great but I just love the comic version because that’s what I know Thanos to look like

As much as the burnished gold of the modern is badass, the classic has that popping bright yellow seems signature!
These are way cooler than I originally thought!
Besides the small blemish on the face this thing is amazzzzzzing!! The colors and light up glove is super sick.

It’s a closer race than I expected, but slightly prefer the comic version. And I prefer the smiling version looking at the gauntlet, but it’s still too bad about the paint issue on the other one.

That classic Vibe hit differently
The light up gauntlets are such a nice touch. They both look amazing it so hard to pick which one I like more

The classic version looks great on its own, but next to the modern, it looks like a before and after, like the classic version is just painted with primer before it gets the gold finish and shading. I don't have any statues, but I'd probably choose whichever fit with the rest of the collection, cause they're both very nice.

I like the classic comic book look but prefer movie version thanos when it comes to statues.
You could say they are both "perfectly balanced, as all things should be" in how great they look! Personally, I'd lean slightly more towards the modern look but you're definitely right about the color contrast and pop that the comic accurate version has.
With the individual pieces I like the modern more, but all put together, the comic version just pops!
The modern slightly edges the win for me with the paint apps having more depth in the gold, giving it a realistic metal look. And the body seems to have more shading.

Thanks so much for making this video. I've been debating between both. I like both for different reasons.
I think the choice of preference may depend on how you were introduced to Thanos. Some folks maybe newer and come from the movies to comics and prefer the modern one since it does have some cinema similarity. But some folks may have been fans of Thanos from the comics since day one and may prefer the more comic version. Its really a hard call for me. I guess I lean toward the comic version.
These both look great-I prefer the modern version with him smiling at the guantlet-captures that classic comic feel for Thanos.

I like the more muted vibe of the modern version. You can never go wrong with bronze and a darker shade of blue. Will just fit in with any other statue display. Cheers.

Love them both honestly. This is a more realistic look for thanos so I’m gonna say modern only for that reason.

I got the modern one coming, but the classic version is hot as well. You can’t go wrong with either. I went modern because I love Hickman’s Infinity run and the modern version looks like he did in that run. Sheesh, I wish I could have both. 😉😁
