Empower vill center. Move all but 3 to wood Rally new vills to gold Get pickaxe Get shiduff Husbandry Plow After upgrades, move wood vills to gold. After hunt gone, move to gold After shiduff, build farms, up to 14. Rain at 14 farms. AGE UP and build monument to soldiers! Keep casting rain! Build migdol! Build army to control a safe gold mine, use market to do it! Good luck!
@@chabbab6698 it all comes down to micro/age 3 timings. make sure your pharoah/wadjet/priest are in the middle of your base and the towers are protecting them as they shoot down your opponents units, once you hit age 3 you throw down a migdol somewhere quickly and start making units

Ra and Isis lost their Beta upgrades (Ra's Migdol units have +20% damage and Isis lost her +0.33% health for every upgrade. They are no longer special sadly
These are the best guides I've found so far thanks to your explanations, a lot of the other guys with amazing build orders make the videos kind of assuming a level of knowledge about competitive AoM that I and I'm assuming many other's watching these don't really have yet. Thanks so much for this. I'm not good at RTSs but I'm trying to get better. AoM is basically one of the few RTSs I like because you can be ancient Egypt.
Just a small thing I thought I'd mention. If your opponent also has farms (especially if he's also egypt) you can go scout their base throw down the third age spell in their farming eco before casting rain the second time.
Hey, I am trying your Build order and I noticed a few things: 1st my 3rd age was always late, thats because I didnt move the pharaoh to the main TC when using rain. Its actually a huge difference 2nd I was lacking scouting information, so I started scouting with goats/cows to discover gold mines/tc plan base layout etc. and 3rd is that its actually good to leave 2 vils on wood when advancing to the 3rd age to afford upgrades in the next age. Maybe this will help some of you guys as well :)

Hi there love the video however I have some problems with it, I tried doing the same but at 7:45 enemy ai which is only at moderate level rushed me and now I'm dead. What are we supposed to do regarding scouting and early agression ?

Just to be sure, building the Village Center on the chicken is just an example here, right? Cause, when practising against the AI just to get a feel of it, I got a map where the chickens where behind my TC, on the edge on the map. I guess it's not that useful then, is it? The main idea is to build the Village Center in the range on the monument and a bit foward in order to protect the base? EDIT: rewatch again and again, and ok, dropping a VC on food is important, whether it's on chickens or something else since the villagers building the VC will go to the food right after.
@@Agachack exactly, you can drop the vill center wherever you want, but ensure that you’re not falling behind on food gathering, chickens is generally the best spot, you can also put it right beside your gold but then you’ll need to walk to chickens. Remember this is just the basic build, always customize it to your playstyle and your liking !
I noticed your earlier openings was to scout the closest settlement spot preferably with a gold nearby with your priest and build your second TC there. What makes this build superior to that one in terms of gold safety.
this build capitalizes on Ra's rain bonus, he's one of the only gods that doesn't require external resources, he can shell up in his base and get a great economy going
It’s a bit tough but I usually try to hold with my priest pharaoh and early myth unit and using good micro, you can also make a barracks with a few spears if it’s too much to hold
Great guide, but I have a question. Is this only for ranked play? and hoping the other player is slow? Like, is this build playable at all vs. hard+ diffculty ai? because after tons of practice with this myself and even just watching you in your vid, you don't have any army not even a barracks or finished stronghold by almost 9 minutes. Hard difficulty AI attacks at about 6 minutes 30 secs- 7 minutes, and completely ruins this build because there's nothing to defend with. Am I doing something majorly wrong? How are you supposed to defend early rushes? Im still kind of a noob but i can't figure it out
Great way to put it cuz I don’t see how I can push thru technology and also make an army…I’ve played Warcraft StarCraft and lor battle of middle earth this by far being the most difficult technology/army wise for me to understand
@@trishlynn8075 yea i guess its just not viable for anyone rushing within 10 minutes, which is all the AI above standard difficult and (I haven’t played ranked yet but I can only imagine) anyone in ranked with any sort of experience. Send a scout, see someone’s completely focused on econ and has no defenses, early rush with minimal soldiers, like a couple minutes worth a queuing a barracks lol, easy win for them. I would’ve thought any build worth making a video over would be viable in most situations
Is there a reason to rush out that second village center? Would simply rushing to Heroic on 1 TC be quicker and allow you to get a migdol down a little faster and get troops faster? Im probably missing something here tho tbh

it depends on the gold mine positioning for sure, if its a really forward gold mine with no towers protecting it you can always just put the village center there, one vill center is enough to ward off most early aggro (if you micro well with pharoah priest and wadjet) remember you're village center goes down so fast that the only thing that can really hit that early is one greek hero and a myth unit, followed by the second greek hero shortly after, you can rush it down with lots of vills and he can't stop it

there's village centers now, it's new. this one you can play anywhere but it's not good as placing it on a settlement. (slow vill creation and weaker/no pop increase)
Ahah just realized i chose the worst god to learn with 😅. I think it made me better though i was wondering why Greek units were so much cooler and stronger. I did like the turtle strat though. Unfortunately all aggressive gods are higher tier, who can you recommend that is strong and has a similar play style to ra?
incredible guide, but I know Ra got nerfed from the beta to release, can you eventually do your personal opinion on the current release meta and create a tier list of what you think are the strongest major Gods. Set seems very strong and Greek overall seems powerful but id love to hear a competitive players top try hard Civs

@@IamMagicAOM Thanks, waiting new build, Ra is my best god. Reason why I felt that something is not right is when I understand I'm lacking of map info. It's still not a problem when I play duo and ask my teammate to scout map around me for key resources. But with heroic ruh can explore other missing parts. I think this build still can work if you play with someone who can cover you since this is still one of the fastest heroic builds. But second VC instead of TC can be questioned. May be saying stupid stuff, still learning how to play(less than 40 games total), just sharing thoughts.
Is this guide outdated? What I mean is that I follow this with 9 vills on food and at 16 vills where you're supposed to advance my resources are just above 200 food, doesn't matter if it's hippo start, gazelle start, giraffe start etc.
You would need good control of your initial wadjet priest and pharaoh But if there’s too much then pull back your vills if you need to, there’s a game of me on fitzbros channel doing this build you can see what to do there
@@IamMagicAOM wow I did not know they changed that, in the beta it was full rate. It says it is 60% like the priest which is actually 40% less! Then again if you're already empowering 2 good buildings that's a net profit right?
make sure you're getting good efficiency, lure the hunt right beside granary and ensure the pharaoh is empowering the granary. also make sure your temple goes up in time
yep, access to chariots and camels really and also being able to place a fort at your second gold mine is nice, scarabs are great too if you want to start putting pressure onto your opponent.
no need with Ra, since all your food is in your base you're safe! you also have 4 towers + 2 tc's to shoot arrows so nobody can really attack either, if you want to scout you can use your wadjet in age 2 to do a quick circle but be careful to not let him die
yep, there's lots of options but if you really want to get an edge over the competition its best to try and leverage the bonuses of the god you're playing, I feel like this really capitalizes on Ra's bonuses, however you can definitely do this 1 tc and go for a faster heroic age, or even 1 tc rain with lots of barracks units, the possibilities are endless!

@@straelboraaaa there’s a lot of firepower in your base to defend, let’s say you don’t scout and you get attacked, you will have a pharaohs a priest and a wadjet shooting the attackers units, the attacker will also have to deal with 4 towers a town center and a village center, it’s very hard to do anything esp since all your resources are inside your base, you don’t need hunting here. But let’s assume he’s Loki, he forward bases you and surprises you with a strong attack, you can just rush down some barracks and sit in the middle of your base and defend, even if he destroys your villiage center, as long as you play properly and make him lose a lot of units you will be ahead I’ll try to find a sample game in the future to show you

When beta I saw people constantly dive into TC with Calvary like they are nothing. And also the VC, are they worse than normal TC?
I have no idea how to make Egypt work in this new game. It doesnt matter how much i get left alone to get an economy, whatever age im in, the army is trash. It gets shredded by literally any army with a few myths in it. And the priests are barely a counter
this is a problem i'm facing as well, the only real solution for the most part is to mix myth units into an egyptian army. they did buff chariot archers vs infantry so that's a bit better now too, but realistically to win you need to have a larger army with myth units and better micro for the most part
@@IamMagicAOM I have played a few more games now and found much more success with Isis. Going for a second TC and delaying Heroic by a few mins to make sure i have a few military buildings and some units.
They castrated Ra. He lost his Beta bonus like the +20% increase damage of Migdol units, and he also lost his original +20% HP and -25% cost for Monuments. Also, the priest empower is now only 60% instead of 80 % from the previous version. Darn.
water is different, you should definitely make fishing ships at the start and fight for it. (right now people are still trying to understand water and the current meta is to fight lightly on water and take a second tc)

@@YeenMage Isnt Ra supposed to have stronger midgol units? They did in original, but they took all that away? Sad.
@@et34t34fdf Ra's migdol units currently have _+15% hit points as a bonus. Apparently they lost 20% damage? (I didn't play the beta)
@@azzor4134 15% hit point might be better than 20% damage, no? Camels don't have the best base attack.
Sad they changed it the bonus to HP. The attack bonus made it more aggressive

The Egyptian meta right now is all about out spamming your opponent, make the unit to counter his - wadjets and sphinx are great to use too

that's also possible, I just add the VC for some extra eco. if you'd like to be a bit more aggro and up faster definitely can forego the VC.

Advance time should still work, but I’d say it’s a bit outdated yeah
@@IamMagicAOM I see, I found out that 2:50 isn't possible anymore but with either 9 vills or 10 vills you can still advance in 20-30 seconds tops.
Should you try to find any goats with your priest? Or is it better to just leave him empowering and give up the goats to focus on getting to farms?
I just empower, goats are not really needed since I cast rain so fast and also use the chickens if I need to

the pharoah empowers at a slower rate if you put it on the monument

Why us he empowering village center and TC ? I thought you couldn't accelerate vill production and age up ?
empower increases the drop off of all resources by 20%, it does nothing to speed up vill production!

Why are you empowering the TC's and such with your pharaoh instead of the monument which would empower both of them?
the moment you empower a monument with your pharoah you empower at a reduced rate, if its directly then you get the full rate (20%)

make sure you're getting good efficiency, lure the hunt right beside granary and ensure the pharaoh is empowering the granary.
also make sure your temple goes up in time

yep, access to chariots and camels really and also being able to place a fort at your second gold mine is nice, scarabs are great too if you want to start putting pressure onto your opponent.

no need with Ra, since all your food is in your base you're safe! you also have 4 towers + 2 tc's to shoot arrows so nobody can really attack either, if you want to scout you can use your wadjet in age 2 to do a quick circle but be careful to not let him die

you can but you'll have to cut some corners, i'd rather go a bit slower with a solid economy behind it

do you have to do 2 TC rain with RA every game? are there other build order options? can you play 1 tc?
yep, there's lots of options but if you really want to get an edge over the competition its best to try and leverage the bonuses of the god you're playing, I feel like this really capitalizes on Ra's bonuses, however you can definitely do this 1 tc and go for a faster heroic age, or even 1 tc rain with lots of barracks units, the possibilities are endless!
Does that mean we don't scout with priest in this build?

@@straelboraaaa there’s a lot of firepower in your base to defend, let’s say you don’t scout and you get attacked, you will have a pharaohs a priest and a wadjet shooting the attackers units, the attacker will also have to deal with 4 towers a town center and a village center, it’s very hard to do anything esp since all your resources are inside your base, you don’t need hunting here.
But let’s assume he’s Loki, he forward bases you and surprises you with a strong attack, you can just rush down some barracks and sit in the middle of your base and defend, even if he destroys your villiage center, as long as you play properly and make him lose a lot of units you will be ahead

One more thing I am confused is the TC fire power, do you get the vills inside the TC and make it shoot like AOE4 English Tc or it doesn’t happen? When beta I saw people constantly dive into TC with Calvary like they are nothing.
And also the VC, are they worse than normal TC?

I have no idea how to make Egypt work in this new game. It doesnt matter how much i get left alone to get an economy, whatever age im in, the army is trash. It gets shredded by literally any army with a few myths in it. And the priests are barely a counter
this is a problem i'm facing as well, the only real solution for the most part is to mix myth units into an egyptian army. they did buff chariot archers vs infantry so that's a bit better now too, but realistically to win you need to have a larger army with myth units and better micro for the most part
@@IamMagicAOM I have played a few more games now and found much more success with Isis. Going for a second TC and delaying Heroic by a few mins to make sure i have a few military buildings and some units.
They castrated Ra. He lost his Beta bonus like the +20% increase damage of Migdol units, and he also lost his original +20% HP and -25% cost for Monuments. Also, the priest empower is now only 60% instead of 80 % from the previous version. Darn.

Does this work on water maps or should you be fighting for the water?
water is different, you should definitely make fishing ships at the start and fight for it. (right now people are still trying to understand water and the current meta is to fight lightly on water and take a second tc)
