The lack of blood also doesn't help. This fixes a lot, but doesn't change the "leader" character grabbing a sword from his enemy and then just punching him in the face instead of stabbing him.
True... though I wouldn't read too much into this. The first DA:I trailer didn't really have any blood either. Maybe they just wanted to keep this trailer down for whatever reason. Tomorrow's gameplay reveal will surely tell us more on what we can expect.
@@HyouVizerGood Catch! I honestly didn't see this. It doesn't change the obvious lack of stabbing throughout the rest of the trailer, but at least it's present to some degree.
Sure, it just helps the overall tone. Not the art style. I keep thinking something between Clone Wars, Tim Burton's animated movies, and League of Legends.
The animation? I’ve seen both Dawn of the Seeker and Absolution, which are both animated Dragon Age projects. Plus Dragon Age has a lot of comic book tie ins where a lot of the characters look a bit cartoonish.
@@collegebro85 Warcraft is Warcraft. It's been consistent. And what it is works for Warcraft. The same cannot be said for the DA series, which has been inconsistent. However, there have been elements in the three prior games that say Dragon Age. Those elements are now gone. DA:V seems like it is directed towards a prepubescent audience for more reasons than just the cartoonish look and the arcade feel. There's also more than the cover to judge this by, even in the reveal trailer now that the gameplay trailer has come out and I've also seen additional gameplay.
I think it's a smart move to pivot to a non-realistic looks as it lends to the graphics having a bit more longevity, realistic graphics age so much quicker. DAO & DA2, both of which I love look very dated.
For me, it makes me overlook the caricature like cartooness and focus on the character feel and what's overall happening; took it from a 2/10 trailer to an easy 7/10 in my books - and that's without proper editing lol.

@@GamingBirch Really I don't like the first DA Origins exactly for the chosen music. Was for me the same level of cringe as the chosen music for this DAV Trailer. But DA has a long history of weird trailers tbh. :D
Still a bit better with the change of music. Some might have a problem with the animation, but I don’t have a problem with it.
Nicely done, 10/10! It finally looks as if we were saving an entire world instead of playing the next round of Overwatch...:D

Or his enemies tackling him after he throws his sword away instead of stabbing him with their swords.

@beastslayer8729 tbh I didn't notice first time either until seeing this video ha.
Still comes off more Disney than Dragon Age.

Warcraft is WAY more cartoonish, yet no one has a problem with it amidst the gore and overall gameplay…talk about judging a book by its cover 🤦🏼♂️

Yeah. The music does help. But the art style is stil hilarious 😆
The shot where she taps at Varrics shoulder and hes like "huh?" is just so cringe to me I cant the way they stare like soulles monsters
I still hope it's just bad animation and the gameplay reveal will be better.
I’m curious what was the original song used in the trailer
A cover of "Heroes" by David Bowie. Not sure who the cover is by, though.
@@spacecommunist1967 I found out that it’s a cover for David Bowie’s Heroes, but none of the covers I listened to were a match.
it helps but artistic choices on visuals can't be helped unfortunately. it's still modern disney adventure =( but nice attempt!

As an Junior vídeo editor. I must say. Music is The soul of every vídeo. Even silence.
Solo hay que rememorar esto ruclips.net/video/0olSKafPoQA/видео.html para entender que esto es garba**.
The only way to make this trailer better is to delete it from history, not your specifically I mean the original and all reuploads.

@@collegebro85 No.
Helps. But still.. Looks like an fn mobile game.. They did Varric dirty too!
The trailer's music had me thinking, "Where's Marilyn Manson when you need him?".
Manson would definitely bring the much needed dark tone to the trailer.
