I'm a 47 year old dude who's been into Thrash since I was 14. When Thrash bands started to disappear, I got into Death Metal and all kinds of other heavy stuff. I still listened to the classics but I was always looking for that new thing...That new heavy sound. Then the new wave of Thrash bands started to crop up, and that new heavy sound was actually the old heavy sound revived and revisited. And I gotta say, Warbringer is one of the best at breathing new life into Thrash. The new album is killer and hasn't left my player since it came out. Great job on keeping an old school metal head interested, and wanting more.
We share the same thought there dude. Nice to know that there's someone that has the same thought as mine. I also listen to Skeleton Witch, Power Trip, Vektor, Toxic Holocaust etc
Exactly. I remember when old school thrash metal bands wanted to get into the experimental and nu metal stuff that was getting attention back in the 90's. Good thing that some of them went back to the old stuff along with the new bands like you said.
I first discovered thrash via Master of Puppets and Reign in Blood back as a young high schooler in 1987. Weapons of Tomorrow might be the best thrash record I've heard since then. You guys are the real package deal - talent, songwriting, production, concept, execution. This album is easily a 9 out of 10.
I'm 42 and been listening to thrash since I was 10 or so. These guys are carrying the torch of thrash. This is an awesome band that's leading the next wave of thrash🤘
John Kevill love the new album dude! You guys truly got me into thrash, and I cannot thank you enough. Keep up the amazing work, hope to see you in Canada some time in the future 🤘
Saw them in Austin a couple of weeks ago. Not only are these guys super talented, but they're smart af. They do such a good job communicating some complex concepts. Just all-around refreshingly impressive
This is a cool video. This beats the old style long form videos of bands getting wasted on tour by a mile. Looking forward to seeing WB live again, someday...
This was awesome to watch, I wish more bands did track by track breakdowns of their albums. I really liked the record, and I enjoy how passionate you are in explaining the little details. Nice job!
This is still an interesting video to watch two years later. Woe and Weapons are modern classics. I hope to hear a third part in this series in the near future!
You guys are so awesome it's great to see intellectual dudes writing badass heavy metal music with deep thought and actual meaning of things in a time in life where shits so fucked up and no one can think for themselves. Defiance of fate is such a brilliant song and Carlos you are a legend that guitar melody throughout the song primarily towards the end is so fucking good and catchy. Definitely my favorite song on the album. Keep up the great work boys heavy metal forever 🤘🤘🤘
Well done Carlos, great takes and great riffs. What makes this album so good is the riffs, nods and experimentation along with John's showmanship. Defiance of Fate showed some real respect for Black and it really added an extra dimension to the Thrash and Death worship. Wrote that high and cleaned it up sober, thrash as fuck. Edit. Thanks to the whole band for explaining at length, and thanks Adam for Notre Dame great work all round.
As soon as The Black Hand Reaches Out came on RUclips I knew right then and there I had to get the album I didnt even know what any of the other songs were and I didnt want to hear him until I got the whole album. Such a great album
You guys are true artists! You really put so much thought and really your whole selves into your music and it shows! I remember the first time I heard you guys, it was on WSOU, I was working and “silhouettes” came on. I was hooked on your thrash instantly. I can’t wait to see you dudes live sometime!
Great band 🤘🤘🤘🤘 I love their music. I was in my hometown back in Guatemala like 7 years ago. And I showed them to my friends they went crazy and we stared headbangind on the first song 🔥 great memories thanks to the great thrash metal music
I actually first heard Glorious End courtesy of Spotify throwing a thrash playlist at me in the same week I watched the new All Quiet on the Western Front. That made it hit SUPER heavy, and I sat there like whoa. Brilliant work, dudes. This easily makes it a top 5 thrash record for me.
Weapons of Tomorrow was my favorite album of 2020. I can still listen to it and jam any time. It really moved me when I heard it and has become one of my all time favorites. Can't wait to see what you guys do next.
Hearing about your songwriting progress really inspired me as a writer. Writing thrash riffs is my thing but really having that connected well the the music and the way you execute the riffs and arrange everything is unmatched to me.
Such an interesting documentary! Weapons of Tomorrow is hands down the best 2020 album for me. And Defiance of Fate resonates so much in me, so inspiring.
Im really blown away by the historical context used for the concepts of these songs you guys rule and are incredibly based metal gods for teaching important history through this music its very thoughtful and i can definitely appreciate this !
I always love and appreciate these kinds of songwriting behind-the-scenes videos. Made a new fan out of me, they seem like really chill talented guys. I'm gonna have to give this record a listen.
John is a historian and that's cool. Many of the people who are under 30 can look into the history of different wars. Forgetting history can lead to more of them. So was the late Jeff Hanneman who was a great lyricist. It's awesome when you're drummer who's great in his own right is the best riff master in the band. 🤘🏼
I always considered Defiance of Fate like the Fade to black of modern thrash metal. Starts soft, then on the chorus goes heavy and at the end it goes to an epic sound.
So awesome! I read "sleepwalkers" a few years ago, and listened to Dan Carlins WWI show recently. Black hand song was such a perfect compliment and visualization of the events.
May possibly be the greatest record to lift weights to, and if you don’t lift, it will destroy at brunch while drinking mimosas well. What a killer lp.
This was awesome! The Demolition Hammer/Black metal/melodic death metal stuff really stod out, nice to see/hear that what you were going for. One of the best releases of last year.
damn i enjoy watching this so much plus its so damn funny and a big influence to see how these guys come up with their music ideas xD brilliant songwriting
This album is awesome, Demolition Hammer would be proud...You guys did better than HAVOK imo..Can't help it, this is a CONSPIRACY THEORY themed album 😁 Well...shit is happening now so it's definitely not a conspiracy
The way that they work together as a band and are so open to feed back is really inspiring...the way that they explain the songs meaning ....just the way that they are as people and musicians is just transpiring HAIL WARBRINGER \m/
King of fools, written in an hour..... feels like it was written in an hour. cheap. When the guns fell silent, a masterpiece. Because he put work into it. Dont just scrawl some shit and feed it to me. I'll know its junk.
I think honestly lyrically the record is...sheltered. Divorced from any large over arching geopolitical issues or even likely future technologies. At least in my opinion the concept of high firepower warfare isn't the most looming terror on earth. There are other sciences that terrify me far beyond a shadow organization hit, or combat. And for that reason this all feels like...fishing. Sheltered. Disconnected from what many of us are actually worried about.
I disagree. This album is imagining the literal developments of technology and how it removes all personal elements of killing and war. Once there were swords and spears, that took courage and prowess in battle, being able to stomach driving cold steel through a human with the aim to end life. Then there were guns, still horrifyingly intimate in the way of killing, but there is a comforting dissociation when you can kill someone from a few hundred feet away and not even be sure if it was hour shot to take the life. Now there are literally drones that display body heat and are controlled by a killer in a different country. The kids at the “helms” of these most recent machines of death, would never be considered a killer by societal standards. They literally punch in and out like a normal 9-5, while wearing a uniform. What this album sheds light on, at least for me, is that some day, removing human life from the path of your aspirations or desires, may become as commonplace as filling your car up at a gas station. Just my thoughts, you could be right, but don’t hurry to discredit this awesome band.
Why do they have to write about looming terror or things you're afraid of? The worst thing they can do is write about "modern" problems. It dates the album really hard.

Hey Eric, have you checked out Power Trip as well? I’m a huge fan of both. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
You sound like me, cept I'm 52 🤘 😆
We share the same thought there dude. Nice to know that there's someone that has the same thought as mine. I also listen to Skeleton Witch, Power Trip, Vektor, Toxic Holocaust etc
I'm 12! \m/
Exactly. I remember when old school thrash metal bands wanted to get into the experimental and nu metal stuff that was getting attention back in the 90's. Good thing that some of them went back to the old stuff along with the new bands like you said.
Defiance of Fate was such an important song for me during the lockdowns, this whole album is great, and I’m so glad I got to catch the tour for it

John Kevill love the new album dude! You guys truly got me into thrash, and I cannot thank you enough. Keep up the amazing work, hope to see you in Canada some time in the future 🤘
Weapons of tomorrow and Carlos is wearing a shirt that has a picture of one of Skynet's top of the line Cybernetic Weapon. Very Appropriate. 🤘🤘🤘 Cool.
Defiance Of Fate was actually really really freaking amazing
Saw them in Austin a couple of weeks ago. Not only are these guys super talented, but they're smart af. They do such a good job communicating some complex concepts. Just all-around refreshingly impressive
Love that fact that guys are Intelligent well spoken metal gods.

Who knew Carlos was a guitar riff master…I certainly did not!
Why does John Kevill remind me of Will Forte in the Last Man on Earth in this video?
