I generally run modified blasters in the 120-200 fps range for park games with my friends. We mostly use the retaliator platform with upgraded springs and internals. That kind of nerf (or dart tag, as we call it) is a lot of fun to play, but not as many people are as willing to take it up as opposed to stock class dart tag which is much more accessible and still just as fun to play. To me, it’s a matter of preference. I don’t mind either way. The Phoenix might fit into our local blaster ecosystem if people are willing to deal with lipos, however almost all of us are running springers due to their ease of use and accessibility.

My play style is predominately for manhunt style games, which often span good distances trying to hit (unarmed) moving targets outdoors. Many of the players have entered the mod scene to get a leg up on the competition, but I myself rarely have the time to actually take apart and mod my blasters. I LOVE these newer blasters with increased firepower, and can actually compete at the same level without spending hours modifying the classic stock builds. I think this could be very nice for HvZ if it was toned down (my plan is to get the Kuryaka Pulsar dual stage cage for it and just not put motors or flywheels in the second stage or just have a very low crush setup). I think it looks very interesting and is very compelling with that board that Worker recently put out

Great review! Just found this channel the other day, and am really enjoying it! My partner and I just picked up a few Nerf guns for her first time ever, and my first time in about 15 years. 😂 We own our home, so we chase each other around it with nerf guns occasionally. It's honestly such a blast. We're both almost 30 btw. Anybody who says Nerf guns are for kids are just missing out on the fun imo. 👌
We started with some 4 dollar Nerfs from the dollar store (was surprised, but they were real Nerfs) and then we discovered that local thrift stores are an amazing spot to find 30-50 dollar Nerfs for 3-5 dollars. Most work, but have no darts, and I love fixing stuff, and own a 3D printer, so even the ones that don't work are just a fun little challenge.
Anyway, keep up the great work Coop, showing off these different and higher end nerf-style blaster is a great concept!

I also have a mighty need for the add on board that has been reviewed around the 'tube.
As per request a bit of foam flinging data: Indoor we run around 130FPS to 150FPS, with eyepro mandatory. Outdoors we run unrestricted FPS, but safety distances on high power blasters.
Most of the crew I play with uses half length darts, though some still use full lengths. 98% of foam flinging wars here in Denmark is full length darts only though. So my group is an outlier.

I like the inclusion of the speed knob, but I was hoping that it was to make the blaster able to compete at the 150+ FPS class while being able to "tune down" to more factory-class settings when desired. I like flinging foam with the bros, but it's annoying to have to keep some nerf or buzzbee or other cheaper guns around simply because there's a church function with kids or the nieces and nephews are over for the weekend. Versatile platforms that can fill many needs at once will always be more valuable to me, whether that's versatility in ammo or versatility in application.

Lots of 3S expanded hopper flywheel rivals that shoot 130+ without curving though, so it's pretty fair. My group plays in an elementary school gym and we're shooting anywhere from 130-180 fps. 3 years ago there were still a lot of full length darts, mostly from stryfes and rapidstrikes. These days it's almost all half darts and rival balls. Lot of nexus pros, caliburns, stryfes, a few higher end 3d printed blasters. I can't speak for any other group but 150 fps half length darts sounds like the new standard for most adult nerfers. I'm really looking forward to running my S200 and Wasp76 loadout this season.

I might just get two of these for cosplay, tbh. It looks really good and would be perfect for some sort of cyberpunk cosplay

My friends use rival while I use dart zone pro so while I do have an advantage there isn’t as big as a gap as if they used stock nerf dart blasters.

I've been running factory blasters for such a long time and just recently discovered the dart zone pro Mk.2, haven't touched a nerf brand blaster since. This is definitely next on my purchase list

I think with the increase in commercially available blaster shooting at the “pro” speeds, there could be a reasonable shift in the hobby towards these blasters.

My group has some half length blasters between us, and some of us have 150fps blasters, but we don't use them in games. For actual games we stick to stock class or sub 100fps with full length darts. We made a decision to exclude half length and rival rounds to make it more accessible to the players who can only drop in rarely.

I just play indoors with friends or for target practice so above 100fps is hurtful and unecessary. On the other side, accuracy, quality and other improvements seems to come from other blaster's company (compared to nerf) and it seems like i can't find the right one to fit with my games.

Nice review, this gun looks like a beast. I have a nexus pro, its is so sick! I dont ever use it inside as it chips the paint off my walls and its fps is high enough to cause damage to property in your home. Yes ive used my nexus pro inside but after leaving dents in my walls after a totally unfair nerf gun fight i didnt use it inside anymore. Like for example if you accidentally shot your television with a blaster like this yould break your tv! I only use it outside but the people i play with do not have blasters that can fire over 80fps, so its totally unfair. I dont use the nexus pro too often. But it is cool to have. This blaster would be a perfect secondary to the nexus pro for high performance outdoor foam blaster games! Good vid Coop!!!

I run a heavily modified adventure force spectrum at ~175 FPS. My buddy got a modded ion pro at 165 fps and other buddy has the nexus. Love them

I’m pretty stock class but my favorite blaster has to be my max Stryker I feel like it was made for me with the half length darts and pump grip

Ran this as my primary all last winter for my club's indoor games, just dominated, had one newcomer quit over it. Get a 2200 mAh Lipo, run all day no problem. Run it full speed, very easy to feather the trigger for semi auto. Do not waste your time on the computer upgrade, it just makes this blaster worse. Honestly this thing is a sleeper, has a lot of haters but I have had a blast with it and it absolutely slays.

I really like shooting short darts at high FPS since my group only plays outdoors, but I just don't trust LiPo batteries. I'd absolutely buy one of these if there was an alkaline or rechargable NiMh battery option like there is with the Dart Zone Pro MK-3, but since the only batteries it can run off of are LiPos the Worker Phoenix 2.0 is a, "NO GO" for me.

I would buy this. I primarily plink, so plinking at a higher rate of fire would be super fun. I love the look of the blaster too. Holding it would probably make me feel pretty cool. I am a little bummed about mag compatibility, since I bought a handful of Talons for my Nexus, but I suppose I could put them on my Christmas list. I would have a great time with this blaster.

It's a really cool platform. Just wish it didn't require a lipo. My ideal flywheeler would be something like this, but with a large battery tray like the dart zone pro mk3, and just 2 flywheels instead of 6.
