my jaw dropped when you mentioned the taxi to the airport!! if you plan on going to japan again, you should look into airport limousine buses! there are a few from various companies and its a charter bus that goes to/from narita and haneda airport! its not too pricy and they have many pick up locations throughout tokyo. osaka has airport limousine buses as well!
Before covid I was a stewardess, and that meant that sometimes I was completely alone in foreign countries. The eating alone was probably the hardest for me at first. But I loved it in Japan because they have like seats that are meant for solo eaters 🩷
I went to taipei alone, its a VERY safe feeling city! I loved it so much and I cant wait to go back. Thr food is amazing there, all the food at the night markets is so fun, their pastry, the drinks... 🤤
I went to Japan in late Oct and I can relate to many of your points. I am an introvert so I prefer doing things on my own. And I really enjoyed doing things in my own pace. But while I did take Japanese lessons, I had no confidence speaking it other than the basic phrases😂😂😂. Regarding self defense, I would strongly advise getting a collapsable umbrella you can keep in your bag. The hotel I stayed at in Tokyo was pretty far from the station and Google Maps had the bad habit of leading me through dark, unlit alleys which I try to avoid. So if it was dark and isolated on the way back, I would take out my umbrella and and be prepared to pull out the handle at moment’s notice. At the very least, I would feel assured that some guys wouldn’t approach me because I have something for self defense visible on hand.
Taiwan, Shanghai, Beijing are all super foreigner friendly! If you go to Taiwan i would go during off-season because hotel prices are getting really expensive atm
Hii! In the video about the viral japan items, you talked about people saying you smell good. Could tell us what is your perfumes? I was plaanning on buying one :)
I'm a people pleaser too so I would probably hate asking people to take pictures of me too but I feel like if it's something I reeeaally wanna do, I should take the risk and do it or I will regret it. Cause currently in my life "I snooze, I lose" and I don't wanna lose out anymore.
thank you so much for mentioning how you watch crime videos and being overly cautious sometimes my friends tell me to stop watching crime videos because I overthink but I think it is good to be in the know, better safe than sorry right?
i would also 100% recommend staying near women when you're waiting in the metro. this summer i went to a few foreign countries (including japan) with a very large group and there was only one moment when i was alone on the entire trip, on the metro in japan. that is the only time someone tried to steal from me. a man grabbed my ass to distract me and then slipped his hand into my bag. so yeah, stay near the women
While it would be wonderful, Japan is currently very cheap to visit and lots of tourists are visiting because of that. You’d honestly be an idiot not to go now if you have the opportunity. Vietnam is gorgeous, but even as someone who is part viet, and has visited multiple times for family, I wouldn’t feel safe going by myself as a young woman.

I felt so bad I couldnt think of a question to submit, but everyone else asked such good questions
aww no need to feel bad at all! thank you for watching!!

Planning my very first solo travel to Japan. I'm so excited :)
Me too! In the planning phase as well, and I keep swinging between excited and terrified 😅
I didn’t know Harry was Korean! How cool to have your own personal guide! That must make it so much better. I could never go alone.

I'm curious about the things you wanted to get but couldn't!
