Just got a 7 wood and a 5 wood g430 max and love them both so easy to hit and they launch so high

If you decrease loft -1.5 in the SFT or flatted the lie using the adapter, will it reduce the draw bias as this should promote more of an open face? Wonder if you tried to minimize the draw bias by playing with the adapter settings all things being equal ? BTW ... love your reviews! The forgiveness comparisons you do are exceptional. They must be very time consuming. I for one appreciate all the extra work you put into the forgiveness comparison section of your reviews. Well done !

Excellent! Most helpful in understanding the differences between these 2 PING clubs.
I especially thought that your comments as to the effective CG of the PING SFT were helpful in understanding which club might be preferable for me and why that might be so.
    Thank you.
PS I have forwarded a link to this review to the fitter at PING Golf Canada that I have been working with, anticipating that he will enjoy your review as much as I have.

Another awesome review Jay ! Background music is perfect now.
I would’ve went for these G430’s or G425 but i recently sold my Sim Max 3 & 5 woods because their deep faces were hard to hit off the turf. Too inconsistent, literally a crap shoot off the fairway. 5 wood was good out of the rough but that was it.
I replaced them with Rouge ST Max. Unbelievably easy to hit off the turf. I gained about 5 yards of carry on both of them over Sim Max.

I just bought the ping G430 5 and 7 woods, haven’t hit them yet, but after watching your thorough video on the fine details about these clubs, I have a better understanding of why they will perform as they do and what to expect. All good stuff. Thanks

I’ve got the same two clubs and love them. Easy to hit compared with others I’ve tried, long high and straight.

Jason, I already have a 3 and 5 woods that I hit pretty well. I am in the market for a 7 wood to replace my 4 hybrid since we have a love/hate relationship (at times it is love and at others it is massive dispersion). I borrowed a friends TS2 7 wood and it is a point and shoot club. Easier to hit and launch with forgiveness unseen from my hybrid. I have ordered the Ping 7 wood max with the Kai'li 70 gm S shaft. I can get the Ping for an incredible price which is only about $30 USD more than any of the used ones and cheaper than some.

Thank you so much for these great in-depth reviews. You're a really excellent presenter. Although I'm fairly sure you'd be testing clubs in this manner even if you knew nobody else would ever find out. 🤓

I have a G425 SFT 7 wood. At first, I hit some beautiful high draws with it. It's kind of straighten out now because of my delivery. Long clubs are hard. Find a really good one and keep it. I find taking a bit off the length and adding extra weight to the head makes it much more playable.

Appreciated your review. I have my woods in the G 425 series. They are brilliant. I have them in the 5, 7 and 9 Woods. Two days ago I decided to buy at G 430 Max in the # 3 Wood with senior flex shaft. Absolutely love it! I did use a G 425 Max 3 wood most of last season. I liked it but traded it in at season end. I wanted to add the 3 wood back. I am pretty surprised at the difference in the feel from the G 425. Actually felt lighter and easier to hit. Thought it takes the ball off the turf brilliantly. Ping does such as nice job with these. You really cannot go wrong with either the G 425 or G 430 woods. That being said I do like the feel of the G 430 3 Wood better though. I noticed the difference right away. I would always pick the Max versions for myself as well. I gotta admit I am tempted to trade in the G 425 Max 5 wood for the G 430 Max 5 Wood. I suspect I will like the feel better. They just seem a little easier to hit . They are quieter too but the sound has never bothered me in 425 series. Ping just keeps getting better. :)

I’ve got a fitting session coming up for some new woods and as I’ve just gone through the same process for my news irons (G430) these woods are definitely on the radar, I’m biased towards the max as I’ve a quite neutral swing, just hope they help with swing/ball speed 🤞🏼

Been waiting for this. How would you compare the face profile to the 425? From 2022 the Rogue and 425 felt they had the shallowest face profiles in their fairway wood which I personally like.
Having a non glued shaft is so nice in the ping line vs some of the other manufacturers

Wouldn't a golfer with average swing speed need more spin on a low face hit with low launch angle to keep it in the air for more carry?
Newbie viewer here. Love the in depth reviews and comparisons. Especially lower head speed and off center hits

    • @AskGolfNut

Efficiency increases as the loft decreases so the added ball speed means the additional spin can reduce potential distance due to the amount of vertical gearing on the ball. In reality it's always a little bit of rob Peter to save Paul as it could work either for or against depending on many different attributes, only one being the club head speed on the golfer 👍

I going to test the new Ping woods as soon as possible.
The stock shaft from ping you hit today, which Mizuno stock shafts would you compare it to ?
I play Ventus Blue now in stiff

Wish ya would have decreased the loft 1 degree to make the sft the same loft as the max and it would also give the same or close face angle. That would have been a more fair comparison

    • @AskGolfNut
      @AskGolfNut  Год назад

Hi Nathan, even if I was to have moved just the one degree, the SFT head is so more draw biased it would still go shorter and more left than the Max. If I really wanted to try and get the SFT to match landing point of the Max, I would have to utilise the loft and flat settings on the other side of the adapter. Although if you have to move a golf club to its absolute extreme just to match the neutral of another it really shows the nature of both. 👍

Hi, your video reviews contain such good data as always and are possibly the best amongst all RUclips reviewers in that respect. However, I feel they tend to be very long generally and could be shortened considerably for even better effect and increased viewership. Thirty minutes is very long to wade through technical chatter. Another and different suggestion is to choose and show one example shot and associated data of the standard nine face strikes (low/mid/high strikes of heel, centre and toe) unless all nine not equally relevant for the specific review. Again, your good work and effort is very much appreciated!

Hi Jay Brilliant review 👍, recently took my Stealth 5 & 7Woods out of the bag & put my old Ping G410s 5 & 7Woods back in the bag 👍, a great move got back my confidence with the Fairway Woods straight away 😁, I play the Pings set on the small + loft setting, I am now back hitting really nice fairway woods👍, Pleased you tested the 5 Woods thinking about updating to a Ping G430 5 Wood (would love to hear your thoughts) Jay Thanks Dickey 9hcp 76year senior golfer
