Been trying to get this down on a A harp but finding it very difficult to bend the two hole successfully. I’m new to this harmonica lark, but am feeling more confident with the C harp. This is a great classic tune, if I can get it anything like as good as you I’ll be well chuffed. Keep up the good work. Phil.
i don't understand. I don't understand how u don't get more views than what you've got. your awesome!!! by the way that was an amazing vid. really helped thanks!!! :D
Nice one Liam.. thanks for putting this one up.. managed to crack it over the weekend! Have recently come across the Jubal Kane band and in their take of Rob Zombies' Pussy Liquor they open with this very same riff and throw in a few other recognisable licks throughout, including Spoonful.. Great fun and worth a listen 👍
Don’t know what you’re playing this on but I have a chromatic in C and a Big River also in C, both by Hohner and neither have the notes needed to play this as you do. Should I be using a minor key or a sharp/flat or something. Have the same issue trying to play along to “put him out of your mind” by Dr Feelgood where I was told to get a harp in D but it can’t produce the notes on the track. Any sugestions.
Hi P C, I am just using a C diatonic harmonica (same as a Big River). You need to be able to bend notes to play this - can you do that? ruclips.net/video/dT7Pkjts7YA/видео.html

Thanks Liam. A friend told me he'd love to learn play this; so now I'm gonna beat him to it and show him how!! :) PS. Have just subscribed, so keep up the good work bro!
Hi wadefite, this is played on a diatonic harmonica (the most common harmonica for blues, folk, pop, rock). There are other types of harmonica available (tremolo, chromatic etc) but this is the most common one. Not sure what you mean by a 'normal' harmonica? Cheers. Liam
Hi scoomeey, thanks and I'm glad you enjoyed the lesson. To my in-person and Skype students I usually recommend buying a harmonica from £15-20 for intermediate techniques like bending. Cheaper harps are OK for practising single notes but won't help you for anything more advanced. I have a PDF lesson on bending notes available at the website here: www.learntheharmonica.com/#!intermediate/c20ir. I'm also working on a video lesson so if you haven't already then subscribe and you'll get updates on new lessons as soon as they're out. All the best, Liam
Hi wadefite, it's a 10 hole diatonic harmonica (e.g. Hohner Special 20) - they are very popular harmonicas used for blues as well as lots of other genres. I don't know what you mean by a "normal" harmonica. Perhaps you mean a chromatic. There are lots of different types of harmonica.

great video. having problem with bending notes. Are some harmonicas better for bending than others?

the funhouse nyc...
sooo eeeaaassyyyyyy
Damn! It's all draw notes. You never get to exhale.
Hi Duende402, yes that does make things difficult - but it also makes it a great opportunity to practice breath control. Good luck! Liam
