Macs are the best if you want to be a Software developer ! If u wanna do college work then check if all your college softwares work on mac or not.
Macs are really long lasting devices ! They don't give you any issue in like 6-7 years generally , but windows laptops seem wierd if you use a mac they dont have long life and are just bad . Make your own call !
