You have no idea how much I have learned from you I have never been in accounting class I learned just from youtube and now I'm an accountant for 7 years
First of all, thank you so much for making Accounting easier to understand! Secondly, you have a true gift of being able to relay difficult subject matter to some with ease! So much honor and value in that!
Hello. I am new MBA student (MBA- Finance) and I don’t understand any of my teachers word at class 😂. I had been learning English for 4 years as a bachelor (my first profession is english teacher) I can clearly understand what you say and explain. I will watch your all videos about finance and believe that they all will help me for build my future profession. Thanks for all your help and support.
Hello Prof! Thank you for bringing value for free to people like me who are interested in business. An engineering graduate here 😃 really appreciate the effort and information!
Beginning my Accounting Degree this Fall & I'm so happy i found this channel. I decided to get a jump start due to the fact that i'm not very good in Math and this is by far the simplest explanation I've found so far! you just gained a subscriber and i look forward to using you videos as reference to get me through University for the next 4 years.
Thank you very much for this insightful lecture and introduction. This is my first step into the world of accounting, and I hope that this will keep on encouraging me to carry on.
So one question I have is the part when you mentioned about negative shareholder's equity, in the case of it being (10,000), what does that mean when you say the company needs money from the shareholders. So in real life, how would that work? So if I'm a shareholder who bought stock from a company and the company owes more than what it has, what would happen as a shareholder? Or am I overthinking this?
Dear Mr. Tony, I'd like to tell you that the Playlists for Financial accounting and Managerial accounting are very clear, amazing & organized. A BIG ThANK YOU Are you going to make a new playlist for Finance courses? If not, do you suggest any organized professor? Thank you
Question, I have an exam in 10 days and am studying the IFRS Book 3rd edition. Its my first ever accounting exam. The book is too long and confusing for me to read. Is it enough preparation to watch and study these videos and also practice? Or would you say theres a low probability of this video series covering everything i need to know?
I'm not an accountant but I just want to know the accounting skills so that I should be able to apply when I start running my businesses. Should I go on or I'm actually taking wrong direction? I need your responses, please.
Would there ever be a time when 2 or more are not filled in under the accounting equation? For example, nothing under Liabilities or Equity, but there is one amount under Assets. How do you figure it out if there are 2 missing entries or all 3 entries are missing?
I am currently enrolled for accounting for the spring semester and I truly want to pass with an A!!!!!!!!!! but i have never been exposed to this subject until now. Any suggestions????
@@Tony-Bell this is my first video and I’m very impressed thank you 😊 I want to start study with accounts again n I think you are the only one who encouraged me many thanks 😊
If I own 10% of the shares of a company that's worth $500,000. I have $50,000 in equity in the company. If the company pays a $100,000 dividend, I get 10% of the dividend, so $10,000 goes to me. I still own 10% of the company, but now the company is only worth $400,000. So I have 10% of the company but it's worth only $40,000 - (I have the other $10K in cash). So theoretically the dividend leaves me in the same place if it's paid or not.

Tony, I'm trying to study for my midterms. Do you have any available time to help me through some things im struggling? Idk if you freelance for private students but if so I'm interested. My class is a distant learning class and i never have a actual class. I basically need to study myself and be my own teacher. I could really use some help because I want to understand this so badly, but I get confused about which accounts to credit/debit, how to estimate depreciation, and how to transfer these depreciation expenses.

Formula is A = L + SE so we’re looking for L that means we transfer SE to the left side. Therefore new equation will be A + SE = L We know that 10 000 is negative but if it’s transferred to the other side, then it will become positive. Final answer is 35,000
Hello, I thought liability equals assets minus equity which in this case is supposed to be 25000 minus 10,000 equaling to 15000. How come you got 35000😢

When one takes dividends, does his share in the company become smaller ?

If the company pays a $100,000 dividend, I get 10% of the dividend, so $10,000 goes to me.

But proffessor, I thought on business #4, IT WOULD BE IF A= L+SE, THEN L= A- SE, HENCE L= 25000-10,000= 15,000?
() = negative so (10,000) = -10,000 which means 25,000 - (10,000) = 35,000
Formula is A = L + SE so we’re looking for L that means we transfer SE to the left side. Therefore new equation will be A + SE = L We know that 10 000 is negative but if it’s transferred to the other side, then it will become positive. Final answer is 35,000

Hello, I thought liability equals assets minus equity which in this case is supposed to be 25000 minus 10,000 equaling to 15000. How come you got 35000😢
That is because if you notice the stockholders equity has two paranthesis which means its negative and negative times negative gives us positive
Thank yoouuu!
More so Professor, why would a company pay out dividends if it hasnt made any profit
