    Kai vs. Brooklyn might be my favorite fight in the OG series. I do like the symbolism of this battle being the Death of the old Kai, and the rebirth of a new Kai, one that fully understands both himself and what Beyblade means to him. Brooklyn is also a really good antagonist, probably my favorite final boss in the original trilogy.

    Everyone always made such a big deal about Ryuga versus Rago, but I remember that during that fight, my mind ended up going back to this faint memory. This memory of Kai fighting Brooklyn.
    Insurmountable odds, power that made one of the halves of the final battle, the very battle that shook a Beystadium so big it took up nearly the entire tournament floor, shook the walls and actually vaporized the ceiling, but even after that shaking, that desire to fight still pushed them forward, after being worn to literally nothing but still matching that very power blow for blow that it even made the bladers transcend their bodies, power that made all of that look like nothing... But then battered, bruised, and even being attacked by the actual blader himself in the fight... Kai pushed through those insurmountable odds, and that's why I loved him, and so many rival characters.
    This is what drew me into Beyblade as a kid, and why I care so much for shows like Dragon Ball and Beyblade.

    Season/Series 3 was unironically one of the best tournament arcs with the pressure of Tyson having 2 championships under his belt but no longer having the team that took him there. It was such a character driven arc that meant a lot because of what it built on. And then it led here, an arc about returning to the love of the game after years of focusing on prestige

    • @zeroxenoverse9251

      Not to mention for the tournament, him being paired with a blader(Who also has a sacred beast. It's the center) he has no familiarity of. It feels a lot more relatable which is why I prefer the first half of G Revolution.

    Completely agree: Kai showing up and throwing down the gauntlet and then ACTUALLY defeating the main antagonist and sending him on a crazed spiral was so hype. Many animes are afraid of letting the protagonist get outshined by the supporting cast or, god forbid, having the MC lose.
    (It's also why I think the end of Vanilla Burst was one of the best in Beyblade).

      @JapanFreak2595 2 месяца назад +1

      I think the reason it works here so well is because it’s natural born talent that does not feel the need to improve at all. Eventually, you’re gonna be caught slipping because of their own complacency, while someone who has experienced growth remains vigilant.

    Metal Fight saga was never gonna live up to the original trilogy. It’s inferior in every way. So stop apologising for stating the truth. “We don’t need to compare them” is just cope for people who can’t accept the truth.

    • @SrWboi
      @SrWboi 4 месяца назад +1

      Metal Fight is on par with the original if you take off the nostalgia glasses for a minute. Part of what made the OG good was that the main cast were relatively relatable and likable. On top of that, their battles felt personal and the bay blades themselves felt like they had a personality. Most of us also were the same age as the characters and got to watch them grow with each series, along with us irl. That said...
      Metal Fight does the exact same thing the first series does, only difference being the bey themselves have changed in shape and some function. The toyline and show were also marketed towards those of 13 and younger. I watched the anime both sub and dub, and can honestly say it moved me the same way the OG did.
      There shouldn't even be a comparison of the two because they're both top notch and I can't find too many people who disliked the series, more so than preferred the OG.
