Much needed and guided review. 💯💯 Let me share some inputs here that may help Pajero Sport 4x4 buyers - • Always stick to the OE parts even if they’re a bit expensive compared to aftermarket ones. For eg: Exedy is the Mitsubishi’s official vendor for supplying clutch. They’ve 2 models where one just costs around 18k for the entire unit and one for 44k. The one worth 44k is the original one. The 18k worth clutch is quite soft, but they limits a lot of torque and brings in vibrations on entire car due to unmatched torque distribution. Moreover they’d last only 25k-30k kms only. • Please try to get a remap and that could do wonders on this machine. Ask your tuner to get the remap focused on midrange so that it brings an ease of driving. Moreover a perfect remap can bring in fuel efficiency as well. • Every Pajero Sport will be different in terms of the way it has been driven. Try to drive as much cars as possible so that you’d have a better idea on what to expect. Maybe a worst looking car in the exteriors would be the one that’s a hoot to drive. • Very personal opinion, try to get KL cars. Because I’ve never felt outstate cars as value for money considering the amount we may have to invest later. Afaik, Reregistration costs around 1.7L, a fresh set of tyres for 50k, a normal maintenance, basic replacements and check up would be another 60k and logistics charges from other state. Still, you barely have any track on past of the car. And as vivekji mentioned, cars that have met even with roll over accidents could look fresh as new inside and out. So beware! • Mostly immaculate condition cars never reach platforms like olx, fb marketplace etc. There are still immaculate condition cars in KL itself which has not clocked above 50k kms in single ownership and with genuine records. They usually get sold through communities or internal contacts. So try to communicate with existing members you may trust in the community.

We had a Lancer diesel 2007 model, ride was so good, like planted on road. I guess these Mitsubishi's all have a Rally Pedigree which we can feel when behind the wheel.
Excellent review...i own one and its an automatic.. i would say its a mile muncher ...can go relaxed driving whole day without fatigue ... Comfortable ..and peppy when you want power..

Pajero Sport was my company car.... 2 years some 50k km driven through toughest of terrain (Ladakh, Zanskar, and other parts of Himalayas ) as the backup car for Land Rover Journeys Also many non stop drivers between Goa and Delhi Even when it wasnt the best example of Pajero sport... Not even once this car failed us... Such a tank it was... Build quality is unmatched and goes like a Rally SUV ❤️

I own one,stable in 170kmph,if you drive properly will get 12 -14 kmpl milege.hard clutch is back side but I am satisfied by using it.Ultimate confidence vehicle anu am driving in Bangalore,usually no one will mess with you

Nice review of an old workhorse Vivekji. But any sensible person would think twice before going in for a second hand tank like that l guess. You definitely appear to be encouraging people to go for this risk of buying a machine like Pajero Sport, and even my heart does yearn for it and yet my mind says "stay far from it" - one can burn thy fingers. Anyway wishing good luck to the crazy ones who still want to go for a good condition car - clear guidelines having been mentioned up there for the desirous soul.
Nice review. Some reason I used to like the Mitsubishi outlander, even though I never drove any cars from this manufacturer. There is a rumour that they are planning a come back in India. I really they come back. 😊
Currently parts are easily available and less pricy for Pajero sports compared to SFX and GLX, mostly Thailand parts. Travel comfort is very good, but SFX has got a commanding driving position. Great video ❤.
If you're thinking about reviewing the 2020-21 Tiguan, please don't! It's already a rare model, and if you review it, the price of the remaining second-hand ones will shoot up as people realize it's a hidden gem. I want that car to stay unnoticed in India until I can buy it. I know I'm being selfish, but still! 😂
Please do consider this as a constructive piece of criticism. I don't think buying a Pajero was a good idea. Mitsubishi doesn't have any active unit of service functioning left in India anymore. Did you put enough thought into servicing, spare parts availability and resale possibiities?

They smoothed the surface slightly to fit the head gasket better. Other changes included new coolant grade, radiator cap and minor changes to the ECU software to take care of the cooling needs better

my cousin has pajero sport , 1.5 lakh kms .. far better than fortuner in terms of ride and handling . Front suspension is confidence inspiring compared to fortuner . But its a hard pick for long rides especially back seats , theres body roll like all big suvs. engine is smooth , refined , and most importantly its not that expensive to maintain , nothing in the pajero breaks easily , never had a single issue even after 12 years. Those who bought it new lost a lot of money ... we bought it for 35 lakhs i think now you can buy it used for just 8 lakhs which is just insane value ....

my cousin has pajero sport , 1.5 lakh kms ..
far better than fortuner in terms of ride and handling . Front suspension is confidence inspiring compared to fortuner . But its a hard pick for long rides especially back seats , theres body roll like all big suvs. engine is smooth , refined , and most importantly its not that expensive to maintain , nothing in the pajero breaks easily , never had a single issue even after 12 years. Those who bought it new lost a lot of money ... we bought it for 35 lakhs i think now you can buy it used for just 8 lakhs which is just insane value ....
