God bless you and your ministry Bro. Andy! I especially like this video, because my church uses Rom. 10; 9-10 as salvation passage, and the A,B,C method for salvation. and really believe they teach Lordship Salvation but won't admit it. they are strong on fruit inspection, and alter call to confess christ. that is why I quit the first baptist assembly. I was raised in FBC all my life, but always have had a caution light come into my spirit about the alter call. then I heard your preaching on salvation through grace alone, in christ alone. the Lord led me to john 5:24, and listening to "Yankee Arnald teaching on Salvation by faith alone, in christ alone, just to simply believe and trust in what Jesus did for me on the cross 2000 yrs ago. I finally have peace of God, that I never had before. I most always doubted if I was truly saved based on my performance instead of always reliening on Christ and his blood and atonement . Thank you for helping to open my eyes to the truth! Gary Barrett!
Dear Dr. Woods, this teaching on Soteriology has helped me greatly in sharing the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thanks for your service to our Lord.
Pastor Woods thank you for your excellent teachings. I am learning a lot from your teaching. I wondered what your thoughts were about a person who stops believing in salvation through faith in Yeshua. Are they now lost? Thanks in advance for your response.
@denisehenderson6973 Good news, Denise! We're not saved by the gospel in Romans or in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 because those were for believers waiting for the second coming of their Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth! OUR gospel of salvation to eternal life is the FREE GIFT in Ephesians 2:8 & 9 KJV that has NO strings attached! And it can never be lost once we let God know we are accepting his gift made possible by his Son's sacrifice at Calvary followed by his resurrection from the dead because when we do that, we are immediately sealed into Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit and he keeps us sealed unto the day of our redemption - Ephesians 4:30 KJV! It's the best offer there ever was and it was not revealed until Paul received the mystery of Ephesians 3:9 so you won't find it in any of his epistles written during the Acts period. Of a truth, the only epistles that specifically apply to us that are saved by the gift are Ephesians and Colossians and not even every word of them is to us. We're kind of an after though that was suddenly singled out by God for this wonderful gift, so he doesn't have a lot of doctrine to give us except that we should do the works he prepared for us from before the foundation of the world; but even if we don't do any works, our eternal life in the new kingdom is assured: Colossians 1:13 KJV!
Confession is the result of faith/belief in Christ; you can't confess/admit something that you don't BELIEVE to be true, and even some confessions may have been done because of other reasons, except believing. Confession is not the response upon which the free gift of salvation is conditioned. It does not have the same recognition as "believe" / "faith" does for God's righteousness to be imputed, as indicated 150 times in Scripture. Don't we all have people in our lives who wouldn't even touch the topic about God, much less confess (admit) to it? WHY? Because they're still in unbelief. As repeated in John's gospel (written for unbelievers) and epistles over and over again, anybody who BELIEVES in Christ the Son of the living God will be saved, regardless whether a person would audibly/publicly CONFESS or not. Not being able to physically confess does not "unsave" anybody. How can that be true, when "WHILE we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Rom 5:8)"? The LORD never waited for anybody to DO something first to save us (Gen 3:15). And no human act can ever be to our merit, because God did all the needed doing, and we are only to TRUST/BELIEVE (Eph 2:8-9). On the other hand, a believer who is already saved and is indwelt by the Holy Spirit NATURALLY confesses the LORD Jesus Christ in Spirit and in truth! --- All praise and glory unto God in Jesus' Name! Thank you, Dr. Woods.
Dear Dr.Woods, about the ABC of Salvation: The A, what is wrong for someone to admit he is a sinner which is the case for all of us, no ? B, you are ok with it. About C: To whom must we call to be saved if not Jesus... Why then debunking it?
Because the gospel for today is 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. It’s how Christ died for our sins (shedding his blood on the cross), was buried, and rose again on the third day.
Dr. Woods isn’t saying there’s anything wrong with admitting one is a sinner, he’s just saying that it isn’t a condition to (start to) believe (have faith) to be saved
I have an honest question. What about after the rapture will Romans 10:9-10 apply then? Will it strictly be for the Jews? Gentiles will deny his name also that is why they were left behind.
I have never thought Romans 10: 9-10 meant a public confession. It’s always meant to me saying to God what I believe. I say with my mouth Jesus is Lord because that’s what I believe. I say with my mouth that Jesus died for me and redeemed me from the penalty of sin. Because that’s what I believe. I say with my mouth that Jesus rose from the grave on the 3rd day. Because that’s what I believe. I’m going to speak what I believe even if it hair lips the gov. I just can’t separate the two. Im going to say what I believe. I believe Jesus did it all. How else will people hear and believe without people confessing what they believe? I love everything I have heard from you but a little troubled by this message.
confessing with mouth is not a requirement for salvation, what would happen with unbelievers who can not speak ? God made salvation is simple even a child could understand.
I'm not sure that speaking at length about a verse that doesn't apply to anyone alive today at all is beneficial to anyone! Who was Paul speaking to? His church at Rome. Who was in his church at Rome (and every one of his other churches)? Believing Jews and Greeks. Are you a Greek? Do you obey the ordinances that the Jerusalem Council gave to them so they'd be kosher enough to sit beside Jews in the synagogues where Paul's churches met? Of course you don't because today we do not have to obey any laws or ordinances; we're saved by accepting the free gift of eternal life through the seal of the Holy Spirit of Ephesians 2:8 & 9; 4:30 KJV! Were there any Gentiles in the churches in the Acts period that were former pagans that never obeyed any laws and after being saved didn't have to obey any then either? If you can find me one, I'd like to know about it! Unless you can find a Gentile in Acts that was saved despite not having to obey the Acts 15 ordinances, then you must conclude that there was no one LIKE US in any churches in Acts; and that, therefore, nothing written to those believers THAT WEREN'T LIKE YOU AND ME applies to any of us today either! The Greeks were BLESSED by Israel's covenants of promise and they were ALIGNED with the commonwealth of Israel (they had blessed Israel with money and goods like Cornelius in Acts 10; they were prophesied in the OT, Deut. 32:21, to be provokers of the Jews; and they would have gone into the kingdom with Israel as their servants if Israel had accepted her Messiah, Isaiah 60). We former pagans on the other hand were "strangers from the covenants of promise;" "aliens from the commonwealth of Israel," and had "no hope, and without God in the world." (Ephesians 2:11-13 KJV) No one with that description was in the church at Rome. Those Romans were looking for the second coming of their Messiah (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 KJV) to the earth with their kingdom. We former pagans saved after Acts ended with Paul's announcement in Acts 28:28-31 KJV by God's gift of Ephesians 2:8 & 9, according to the revelation of the mystery (whereas those in Acts had been saved by a gospel, 1 Cor 15:1-4, which was "according to the scriptures" - prophecy) with no Law of Moses (Acts 21:20 KJV); no ordinances (Acts 15); and no "works meet for repentance" (Acts 26:20 KJV) are not told exactly how we make our faith known to God so I assume we can just let him know by thinking it in our minds. To tell you the truth, I don't see any clear direction from Paul to these "faithful in Christ Jesus," Eph 1:1 KJV, to assemble themselves together or take up a collection or appoint a pastor, bishop, deacon. I suspect that even after this news was made known that pork-chomping, bloody juice slurping, uncircumcised pagans can now be saved by grace through faith alone in Christ alone, that those law-ignoring new believers still weren't welcomed into the churches founded by the Jewish apostles and Greek brethren. I think the new believers pretty much went on their merry ways singing hymns of praise inwardly to their Saviour and rejoicing in their gift of eternal life - pretty much how I worship now! I also believe that the concept of rewards or crowns is applicable to those saved by a totally free gift; it seems as if we that were given the gift are on a completely even plain without any competition between us, just mutual gratitude for our Saviour! (It's unfortunate that the "church fathers" saw their chance to pick up the reins and that led to the establishment of the Roman Ecclesiastical Monolith Monster that I was born into as the niece of a Very Right Reverend Monsignor in the Roman Catholic Church! Somehow, I was able to escape!)
Love Dr. Andy, and support the context of this message. However, caution those who follow not to "split hairs" and conflate what is required to recieve Jesus' free gift of salvation and reject any teacher who may refer to the "ABCs"...one does have to acknowledge to oneself and God one's sin with a repentant heart and belief in Jesus Christ, Son of God. Belief only is not enough as even Satan and the demons know who Jesus is, but certainly deny His Lordship. Many heartfelt and right minded Christians do follow and hear from right spoken teachers and preachers who share the ABCs rightly explained- no works. Unfortunately, many church leaders throughout Christiandom are wrong minded and wrong focused today leading many into the "ditch." Blessings to this ministry bringing Truth.
salvation has not been offered to satan. Jesus died for human being not for angels. Jesus is God thats way satan believes but Jesus is also The savior . as sinners ,we believe on Him as savior. JOHN 3:16
EVEN if Satan did believe, so why wouldn't you? I do not think Satan believes, he changed his mind. If Lordshipper is true for Satan, that doesn't mean Lordshipper is true for humans
Romans 10:9-11 is the Gospel as much as John 3:16 & 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. So Andy argues it’s for the Jews....ok....it’s calling the Jews to Jesus Christ as Savior, which would place them in the Church transferring them from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of his glorious light. Straw man argument and had he didn’t even read Romans chapter 9 which concludes blessed are the feet 🦶 that deliver the Gospel! Which authenticates the passage as a Gospel passage. Additionally Andy is an excellent teacher. This is a stretch however and seems almost hyper dispensational. Every human being who has ever heard 👂 Romans 10:9-11 and believed it is saved., just like the passage says....So there is no argument to be made here anyways.
No, because if you add any works to the free gift of salvation as per the gospel in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, then it’s not about grace anymore. Read Romans 11:6 KJV. A confession Is a work using your mouth.
GospelGirl 1Cor15:1-4 That’s ridiculous confessing the one you love or even more so the one who loves you ❤️ is not a work it’s a natural reaction to belief in the good news.
