- Super 8 home movies of the first Long Beach Grand Prix in 1975. Long Beach started with Formula 5000 cars in September 1975. Brian Redman won the race. I added the F5000 sound track.
That is my dad at 4:54 #50 T330. Great event. Great times
I've been watching motorsports for fifty years. The downhill right hand turn at Linden followed by the tight left was one of the best spots I've seen cars race. When F-1 ran there, I was amazed by Lauda. He was just perfect every lap through that part of the track.
Those few years were the best.
What a great video thank you so much. I was sitting with my mom at the bottom of Linden, watching all this amazing beautiful machinery fly by.
My mom also got me a Yamaha YZ80 that year ha. ✨🏁
Nice to be reminded of that weekend. I was a Turn Marshal and recognize several other workers.
We all thank you for sharing.
We had a great time going to this race. Loved the old track layout
That was real racing!!
great stuff.I was 14 in 75 and had a press telegram paper route. They gave me passes to the race so i could sell special editions in the stands.
lovely, my friend brian won, cheers from italy
Very cool. Mario should see this.
Tony Brise was by far the fastest car that day, he got to the front then spun then got the lead back , then retired
REAL Racing!
Gorgeous film of the Parnelli 332Ts. Amon drove a great race in the two heats in the Norris Talon, but it was not the car he used in the Tasman and it was gutless. The other NZer McRae was mindblowing fast in 332T as at Laguna.Probably due to great talent, when a lot of F1 and 5000 talent had a blind test on an unraced street circuit but also probably superior.
Was that the orange #44
Redman owned F5000
Very cool. Was the sound dubbed in?
