That was an excellent video. You obviously have a good relationship with your PCP. Hike or no Hike that is excellent. You addressed issues with your personal life and things that may come up on the trail. Even as thorough as your preparation has been unforeseen things will come up. It is important to address those issues by taking whatever actions necessary to minimize their impact. As an example poison ivy is abundant on the AT. I got an extremely severe case of it. I just hiked on. Did not take the necessary steps to get it under control. Ended up in a hospital ER. Hiked on. I am not a doctor but I believe I got cellulitis as a result of having poison ivy that was not properly treated. That put me in the hospital 3 days. Got out and hiked on. A week later my one leg swelled up so bad I had to go to the hospital again. This time it was MRSA. I did make it to Mt Katahdin. My advice is if you get any medical condition on trail make sure you adequately take care of it before hiking on. Good Luck on this awesome adventure.

Appreciate the kind words. I will also take wisdom from your story and apply it to my hike.
