Cheeseburger with extra patty + Regular Fries + Milkshake would be 28.95 GBP + 20%VAT. Which turns out to be 344HKD (37% more expensive than the 250HKD you pay per head.) So you weren't robbed by Hong Kong, but instead you were robbed by Five Guys.
OMG Tom had a ride on a Ding Ding. I can't wait to see Tom's smile. I wonder if it is going to be tight and how fast it will be before they get off lmao
you were either being naughty😂 or making a James Bond reference when you said octopussy 😅.. I know every video can be edited to make it feel ever how you want, but Hong Kong feels way too busy for me to ever want to go. Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip there.
Thanks for showing the beautiful Hong Kong! Yeah, Five Guys is quite expensive in general. It's the same when I was in Paris. Wished you didn't use that title though, might mislead some who don't review the content to think you were really robbed in HK. Hope you will enjoy the rest of your trip!!
The New Territories and Outlying Islands of HK are less busy that the city areas you visited and more rural. Interesting fact 70% of HKs total landmass is undeveloped country parks. Some of the best cycling and hiking routes in Asia.
“Prepare your social battery”. I’ve never heard that expression but I like it. No way I could live in one of those millions of apartments stacked up like Jenga blocks.
Hi guys. Glad you guys are able to navigate the city well. It reminds me of New York City. The people, the train etc. It’s much louder in New York with constant horns honking and the street noise and conversations. You also have new buildings mixed with modern architecture. Five guys is more expensive than Burger King or McDonalds because simply it’s better quality. They make everything when you order it. The portions are very ample. You guys were full. The same meal you ordered would be about half of little more than half of what you paid in American. Nice way to end the day . Be safe guys. 🙏🏽👋🏽
Tom did you hear what Lay said? You pointed out about the Concrete Jungle and how huge it was then said you would like to check out one of the units. Listen close and Lay said she would like to check out every room. I was like daum they would be stuck in the buildings for well over a couple months if Lay had her way lmao.
Visit Tai Mo Shan and Route Twisk country parks. Perfect time of year to visit these places. You should also try to get to Lantau Island to visit the worlds largest sitting Buddha ~ absolutely amazing.
you can also download the octupus card to your phone. They have one designed for tourist. At the end of your stay you can have the remaining balance refunded to the attached bank card you loaded money with.
Every time we come to Hong Kong we frequently eat at Cafe De Coral in Admiralty building then we drop in at Delifrance for some nice desserts.Very good video guys you two looks enjoying your travel.Ciao take care
That's crazy busy with people there's no way I'd live there. Visit?yes because it's very nice there. They use Bamboo because it's super strong and flexible. Hahaha Tom telling Lay to be quiet, so many people but so quiet like a library. I would have to agree, the local area always have the friendlier people and talkative. 60 bucks for fast food yikes! That is crazy. Here it's around 28 bucks for 2 people.
I lived there for 27 years 8 years ago , please try to go big buddha in Lantau Island by cable car 360 or by bus . Explore the Peak tower as well. StanleyMarket , Ocean Park and Disneyland HK
It is really too pricey at HKD500 for burger, milkshake and fries. You all should try the local dishes like dumplings in soup, noodles with roast pork, tim sum.
Last year an X post that has been viewed over 25.2 million times shows a 5 Guys receipt for $24.25 USD. This was for a double cheese burger, small fry and coke. I can get a prime rib dinner with salad for $25 at a restaurant near my home in Florida. Corporate reply to the X post was that Covid-19 forced the chain to raise prices.
Are you planning to change your cap Tom? Put another head gear/hat. Wear a beanie for once😊😅😮 Please wear more layers Lay. It’s winter now, right? I don’t want you to catch any cold. Thank you for the tour love birds. I wanna see more Hong Kong ramen noodles menus/dishes. Roasted duck and Siopao 😊😅😮 visit Germany for Christmas next year, I’m sure you both will love it.

If you like chill vibe with a beach not too far from the Central Hongkong, Stanley has a nice beach side walk white sand, mini markets and also have western shops and restaurants.. 😊
@Tom-Lay And don't forget to visit The Peak Lookout Tower riding a tram going up the hill overview with the whole Hongkong island and Kowloon across. Have fun!
You came at a good time. Humidity is low and temperature just right to go around. Go visit the outlying Islands like Lamma, Cheung Chau and Tai O. If you ever go to the Big Buddha, hop in a bus to go to Tai O Island. The South side of HK like going to Stanley, Repulse Bay is good place to visit. Take Bus 260 or 6X from Exchange Square bus stop for an enjoyable ride. Go to Northpoint and Quarry Bay to see contrast of old and new buildings. It is ideal to take the tram from Central to Shau Kei Wan to view HK side places. New Territories is wide. Check your map for interesting places.
Dim sum is BREAKFAST food. And the best eating experiences are off the beaten track, in places like Kowloon City, Sham Shui Po, etc. In my 9 years there, my staff used to take me to all the back street restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A much more enjoyable experience than the tourist traps.

Five Guy's lol Lay's first time she wanted to try it. Lay said she never had Five guy's before and would like to try it. I can't recall where I was but I was hungry and that does not happen a lot and wanted to grab something to eat. I was dating at the time and took the girl I was with to eat with me. They had the list of all the foods they had but no prices on anything. I like an idiot assumed it was not going to be that bad. After we ate it was between the two of us was 76 dollars with out the tip. I looked at the girl and asked Baby did you order food to go? She said no. I just had the shocking look and she said why how much is it. I said there is a reason the server left as soon as she dropped off the bill. I showed her the bill and my GF at the time could not believe it. When the server came back I asked why was the bill so high and she told me the cost of everything including the water. I paid her 100 told her to keep the rest as a tip and we left. 3 weeks later the place was closed lmao.
Seems like that Indonesian woman recommended Bali when she’s never actually been there before. Anyone who has been to Bali will tell you that it’s the most crowded place on the planet. The traffic is unbearable. But it’s also one of the most famous tourist spots on the planet, so people recommend it.

You can still find food $30-40 dollars. You just need to know where to look
You will find trams in areas like Croydon but not double decker. Great videos.
And Blackpool, it's famous for its double decker trams, though they are more of a tourist thing than a citywide network of public transport.
I spent a week in Singapore and a week in Hong Kong in 1974 and there was bamboo scaffolding everywhere back then.
Five Guys servings are huge which is why it's expensive. If you order the smallest burger set then it's comparable to Shake Shack in HK
Another great video! Thank you 😊
Thanks for watching!

I believe Five Guys is an American fast food chain. We have a Five Guys here in Ohio where I live, but I have never went there before.
IT'S PRICEY HERE IN OHIO BUT NOT AS CRAZY AS HONG KONG.
Yes it is robbed by 5 guys 😅
The Answer for the reason of Bamboo is simple . They believe it is better then anything ells it is just as strong and it is lighter.
also resusable for many years and environmental friendly, it's been a traditional asset in HK construction history
What's the card you are using in Hong Kong called?

The total 59.00 US dollars I was shocked for a hamburger granted it's a double....

You took responsibility for not inquiring about the prices; these 2 knuckleheads slandered and blame Hong Kong, instead of 5 guys.
Seems like that Indonesian woman recommended Bali when she’s never actually been there before.
Anyone who has been to Bali will tell you that it’s the most crowded place on the planet. The traffic is unbearable. But it’s also one of the most famous tourist spots on the planet, so people recommend it.
