Oh! My all time favorite thing about watercolor is color and granulation exploration. Thank you for this, it's a real treat. I haven't explored this mix much, but I've started using Tans Red Ox instead of Burnt Sienna lately and I love it! Gorgeous scenes! 🌻

Granulation is my absolute favourite watercolour texture! I love how different paints create different granulating effects too. Transparent Red oxide mixes so well with Sodalite Genuine too, for a very moody warm grey, it’s gorgeous. Have fun!!! And thank you for watching my videos 😊

Worthwhile experiment, lovely result. Thank you for reminding me also that the evolving or super granulating paints (which I also love) often are better wet-in-wet so that the pigment particles have more time and space in the water to separate to create their intended effect.

Thank you for watching! I agree, these colours do "shine" when painted wet into wet. I love the unpredictable results - they are always such a surprise.

Two wonderful works of art. I understand why you love to use those two colors. They are such good representatives of sky and earth that balance each other in the most natural way. Thanks for that great demonstration of technique and artistry.

Thank you so much, for watching and for your kind words! These colours are so soothing too, not too vibrant, and they combine beautifully into a range of earthy tones…

I keep seeing your mountains pop up in my IG suggestions and I instantly know who made them. I could watch you paint mountains all day! DS transparent red oxide is one of my favorite colors because it so closely resembles the red rocks near my home. I got potter's pink because of you and have been playing around with recreating some of the Schmincke super granulating mixes.

Thank you for watching! Mountains are one of my favourite subjects to paint 😊 And Potter’s Pink is such a beautiful and useful colour… Isn’t it the most incredible fun mixing it with all kinds of other colours 🤩 I don’t think there is a colour it wouldn’t work with!

Pretty. It reminds me a bit of Daniel Smith Moonglow but has a bit more red to it.

Thank you so much! I agree, it does look a bit like Moonglow, just with a bit more red, and from what I remember Moonglow has a hint of cool blue in it too.

Brilliant videos. I love the way that the blues separates from the brown. Using the same two colours throughout the painting is so effective. I have just purchased some transparent red oxide so can’t wait to have a go. Your mistake was very reassuring for me also 😅 ❤️

Thank you so much! I love using granulating colours for my skies as I often use a lot of water there and the water really lets that granulation “develop”. Granulating colours are my favourite 😊

Thank you for watching! Quinacridone Sienna would be such a lovely choice for this mix too! Glad you enjoyed playing along. I used cold press paper here (it is also what I used the most as it has such a lovely texture).

Hi, I think it was my hake brush you saw me using - I have two of those, size 6 (60mm wide) and size 3 (30mm wide), they are both goat hair. They are by Australian brands called Art Basics and NEEF but from what I have seen, hake brushes by different brands all look and perform in a similar way. I hope this helps! Thank you for watching my videos!
