    I can't begin to tell you how much this review and your previous video mean to me! My wife, 2 year old daughter, and I will be visiting Riu Jalisco the first week of April and your review is exactly what we've been looking all over RUclips for. Perfect timing! As fellow Canadians that "don't give a f*** about where we're going and want to go to a fun, hot tropical place," (we HOWLED when you said that) this definitely seems like a great resort! We only regret that we won't be there the same time as you because you and your family look like a blast!

    Video was helpful . We stayed at the Jalisco July 2023 . It was our 3rd stay at a RIU . Place was decent, not top of the line, but if that's what you're looking for you should book at their Palace. Jalisco seems to be a place for the locals to stay, not a lot of foreign people . Overall it's ok

    Thanks for the video, my wife and I are heading here next month from Canada as well and you covered pretty much everything we wanted to see. We hadn't seen a video of the dinner buffet before either, so it was nice to see there's decent variety.

      How was it?

    • @CarbonatedTurtle
      @CarbonatedTurtle 6 месяцев назад

      @@kaitlynwiggins2328We had an amazing time. The food was mostly great, aside from the Asian buffet. Tons of variety, and we especially loved the Mexican restaurant. The main buffet was always great too. The activities were also abundant during the day, and the evening shows were pretty well done. The beach does get pretty crowded, but it's beautiful and the water was very warm, even in May.
      I think the only downside is the night club they put in the centre of the courtyard, right in the middle of everything. Despite the resort being filled with lots of families and people who aren't interested in clubbing early into the morning, they blast bassy dance music half the night when most guests are trying to sleep. This also meant there were groups of Mexican guests in their 20s sitting outside the club completely wasted and singing (actually screaming) loudly. After a few nights of this I had to call the front desk at 2am and was more than annoyed when they basically said to me "So? What do you want us to do about it?"
      I don't go on vacation to stay up all night and sleep half the next day, and I'm certain most of the guests there don't either. This didn't ruin our trip or anything, but it was something that I think they need to address. Either close the club way earlier or move it out near the ocean so it's not right outside of half the rooms in the resort.

Reviews online seem worse than before so we are hoping things aren't drastically different! One question for you, the 'family pool' (non-swim up bar one) used to have small water slides from the centre island thing. Is that just a water feature now? Is there still a couple of slides into the pool? It looks like maybe it's been converted to a water feature.

    Was going to book the Riu Vallarta, but it is sold out. So now to decide between Riu Palace or Riu Jalisco. But Riu Palace is 20% more and we are going with the family (9 adults and an infant). Your video shows the Riu Jalisco would be okay and worth despite some of the negative reviews. We are not particular people, but still want a nice place to go to. We like to be active and participate in activities but also possibly have an area to just chill too. We want a memorable vacation in a good way as we do not do this often as a family. Also from Canada and want to go the beginning of January 2023. Hope choosing the Jalisco is the right decision and seems like we can't go wrong.

    We were just here in March 2023, I have only been to another resort in PV and compared to that one, this place was a complete let down. The food was terrible, the service was garbage and the accessibility was brutal. Food was very bland and it was the SAME MENU everyday, nothing changed. Not one time did anyone ask me if I wanted a drink while in the pool or by the beach, had to get up and stand in line for sometimes 10 - 20 minutes. They had 4 elevators and we were on the 5th floor and everyday out of the 4 elevators at least 2 if not 3 of them were broken down for at least half of the day, its kind of hard to bring a baby and a stroller up 5 flights of stairs everyday. The only thing this place had going for it was the kid pool area, that was the only place I could think of that was not a let down, my kids did have fun there. But for the price we paid to bring my family down here I will never go back.
