Being a filthy Aran slut I main mine and I'd like to point out a couple things. First, gathering catcher at first glance is ultra useless, but it's actually an animation canceler. So when casting Domain or 5th Job Fury, immediately casting gathering catcher afterwards (using the combo commands) will animation cancel and free one's self from being stuck in place. Also like someone else pointed out earlier, Might is a very outdated passive that used to let Arans shuffle almost every single enemy in the game including a couple bosses but that game mechanic no longer matters, so rip.
I love you videos man. If I may add...Judgement draw is useful to deal increased damage to stunned monster and also a decent gap closer to get to the monsters outside your range. Gathering hook is useful to pull enemies from different platforms so you beyond blade hits then properly.
looks good but i imagine mashing keys a million times to mob and get levels will only bring you a step closer to arthritis compared to other classes like luminous lol
Agreed! Though to be honest I only use commands for maybe 4 of the skills, and two of them can't be put on the keyboard anyway. So it isn't so bad xD I just lose a bit of damage
You don't need to press attack twice. If you hold the final direction+attack it'll work. After that you can move freely while still holding attack. Example: Down -> Left -> Right&attack (both held down) will activate it consistently After the spinning starts, you must still hold attack, but you can now move left and right.
Just regarding Final Blow's command effect, it just means you get super stance during its animation. So you can face-tank Magnus or Lotus's knockback attacks (or anything similar) without getting knocked back. This also applies to Beyond Blade and Fenrir Crash. Gathering Hook actually has a use! You can cancel Domain or Fury's cast animation with it so it's useful in some situations.
I have to say I’m kinda disappointed in how aran changed in 4th i feel like the first 3 jobs were you spinning your polearm around and attacking enemies flying everywhere. Then in 4th you’re supposed to spam beyond blade which just locks you into place shooting animals at enemies. And for me at least its hard to proc beyond blade when using power smash it always seems like i press attack one too many times. I use to play aran a lot back when it released and trained at lhc and so far am dissatisfied. Maybe after a few levels i might get used to it but now im sad it was going to be my new main
Hey, thanks for the video! It looks like you couldn't max out all your hyper skills- you had to choose which ones you wanted. Now that it's 2020, has this changed? If not, any tips on which hyper skills I should have?
Anytime! Thanks for watching! Yeah, nothing's changed. We still only get 5 points for hyper passives. I personally use Heavy Swing and Frenzied Swing. Then add 5 seconds to adrenaline and finally, 20% damage to beyond blade as well as 1 extra line.
so pretty much u gotta combo to be good with this class other wise you lose out major like on damg. mostly i just kept like final blow on x and beyond blade on c the only issue i have with aran is his finishers man they hurt my fingers at times lol think i was told if i cant do commands for aran its better to not even try and level him i got him to like 160 it was fun playing him really but i just could not do the commands i needed to do for damg
I don't really bother with commands except for final toss for the extra vertical distance, and sometimes one other command skill, but that's it. Though I don't main the class, I'm sure I wouldn't really mind missing out on damage if it can save my fingers. Though I've never had a problem with any class hurting my fingers.
I don’t know if you’ll see this comment since this video is so old but what’s your button command to use the polar bear swing and beyond blade together? Cuz my set up is trash
Mine is down back forward then hit attack to make the flash happen. When the flash happens, press attack and hold it down this time. So the actual command should be down > left > right > attack (press) > attack (hold) I tried doing it on stream tonight and it took me 3 times to get it to work, so don't worry if you mess up the first time.
Pretty quickly, though with mp recovery familiars, it won't be so bad. It also isn't as bad as some of the cygnus knights. Jr. Boogie familiar recovers mp, and a lot of it for a low leveled familiar.
I really like Aran's winter themed skills since i personally adore winter also the fact that Aran is warrior is pretty tempting, but according to friend of mine Aran bad at bossing i wonder if that is true tho. (I am trying various classes before picking one to burn since burning gives good frozen equips and i could use a good starting ground for character i would do bossing with)
Aran has passable bossing, it REALLY shines when it's in adrenaline mode! That's where the true damage is! If you're looking for a relatively easy and safe bossing class, try out wind archer. They are a cygnus knight, and cygnus knights don't require mastery books to max out their 4th job skills, and they're a dex based class so their equips will be pretty cheap. Course it isn't like top 5 bossers in the game, but I had fun with mine and they aren't very weak after 4th job.
I tried it once a long while back but more recently started exploring different classes again and am really enjoying Aran so far. I have a ways to go to use it properly but I may settle on it as a main. Mercedes is still up there for me as well.
Usually people buy red or black cubes in order to make their equipment stronger, but if you're still in the early game. I wouldn't worry about that yet. You could also buy a pet, or various clothing. The auction house kind of negates the clothing and pets part though. Since people will sell pets and permanent clothes in the auction house for meso.
A note about the skill Might that most people aren't aware of: the knockback reduction is useless as of the V update. It says 90% reduction, but the V update made it that all normal monsters can be knocked back, regardless of damage dealt (for example, you could do 1 damage to star force mobs, which normally have a high knockback value, and still knock them back, regardless of your class). Even missing on an enemy will do this, in fact. On the other hand, it's impossible to knock back bosses without rush/bind now. It's why you don't see people with 10 billion damage knocking back any bosses, which normally have a knockback of 1 billion. I also tested this on other low level bosses, area bosses such as Dyle and Tae Roon, and was able to confirm this theory. As for why monsters still have knockback values, or why Might still works the way it does, *shrug* it's Nexon. Monsters still have avoidability values despite accuracy no longer being a thing. However, I can say that Might's ability to knock back bosses was a thing when Aran was first released years ago, but they shortly removed it.
I remember this being amazing for fighting pap and many other bosses since you could just attack them and push them across the map without giving them a chance to attack. It was lovely.
"you just gotta learn how to fly" best quote ever
I saw this comment as I saw a red bull gives you wings ad

No way! I've gotta try that!
would you recommend using storm of fear past 5th job? or do i just FJ+optional toss+FB to kill everything?
Gathering hook does actually have use aside from that gimmick you mentioned. It takes a bit of practice but it's awesome once you figure it out
I miss the old rolling spin,it was soo op on moon bunny pq...old times...
LOL having flashbacks of Smash Melee with Luigi's wavedashing around when you were doing the combat step in El Nath.
That's exactly what it feels like! Haha!

Thanks for the tips! I'll keep this in mind for the remake of this video!
8:58 It might block hostile projectiles
I found out that it makes you gain super stance / super knock back resistance. So nothing can push you

Aww!! I'm sorry you feel that way! Maybe they'll get a change one day that'll make them feel like their 1~3rd job for all the levels.
Robert Kozlowski just use ctrl attack, it gives you extra dmg also you can fly around everywhere. No need to spam beyond blade

Pretty quickly, though with mp recovery familiars, it won't be so bad. It also isn't as bad as some of the cygnus knights.

now that familiars are disabled its painful to play this class until they do the revamp
Very nice update fearless guild leader lmao
Lol! Thanks, but I'm not fearless~
Didnt know you had to press twice for finisher moves
you dont have to do that anymore just holding from the first one does it
Yeah someone mentioned that to me and I tried it, and it worked. Seems they fixed it within the last 2 years xD

Ah, they're both Hero/Legend classes so they can share cash shop as well, so no matter which you pick, you'll at least be able to look good on them
Nice vid. Does Hunter's Prey 5 sec build up protect you from 1hit KO's (head gullux hands/ ark's screen / queen's purple vomit / etc)
It should. Though I haven't tested it myself so I can't say for sure.
oh boi Aran changed some much for the good. Like final blow were you needed a skill book for or when beyond blade was the hyperskill for aran.
Yeah!
Thanks bro!!
