So impressive, absolutely love the three marvel builds together, wish I had the space. Fisherman's hut as well, stunning roof detail. Great video👌

@MrFaulkers what a pleasure this was to watch. Your thoughts and simple presentation with your handheld camera worked so well because of your thoughts - short and concise, but to the point. I guess what really comes across well is your appreciation for the hobby, and your love of Lego. The way that you’ve added little stories to your streets is gorgeous, and what it’s all about. When you didn’t like a building, you didn’t hate on it, but instead, just made it clear that it’s not one of your favourites. I feel like I’ve just been to your house, admired your work and listened to all the enjoyment you’ve clearly had over the past four years. I’m glad your wife encouraged you to get into Lego through the Saturn V, and that she hasn’t left you for falling deep into the hobby. Your love of it all is infectious, and I appreciate you sharing this. I hope I live old enough to have such a seemingly wonderful retirement with the love of my life too. Well done, @MrFaulkers. I hope to see you making more videos, perhaps your take on each modular in more depth would be a nice spin off, with more discussion as to why it is located where it is on your street. I own all of the modulars, but I just don’t have the space to store them anywhere yet. I’m hoping to one day, and then I will be building them all, and making my own city. After watching your video, I’m more driven to reach that goal. Thanks again for sharing your passion, and I hope you have many more years with your wife and living a very healthy life. All the best. 🫶

Gosh! Thank you so much for the very kind and detailed comments. Hope you get the chance to build your city in the near future. Just a thought, as a stop gap, could you display the modulars on wall mounted shelfs? Add some LED light strips on the base of each shelf, and you will have an impressive display. Incidentally, if you haven't seen it, there is a video on my channel showing the street illuminated with dedidicated light kits.
      Once again many thanks

@@MrFaulkers no problem at all! I love when people jump into things during their retirement years, and are brave enough to share their findings with the world. 🙌 I'm a videographer by trade, so I want to do build videos for all of the modulars in the future... which is why I'm waiting for a larger space to be able to do this. I have built the Brick Bank, Detective's Office, Palace Cinema, 1/2 of the Book Shop and the Tree House, as well as a few other sets, but I'm going to dismantle the modulars in the future, so that I can do a video on each of them, as like you say, all our opinions help everyone, and I'd quite like to give it a bash from a videography standpoint too! That said, I will watch your other video to see your street illuminated with dedicated light kits! Very cool! I just saw the new lighting tools that Light My Bricks have created, and they look really interesting... it really is a rabbit hole though, and I need to prioritise saving for a home, rather than owning more Lego "homes" / modulars...! Haha! Thanks for your lovely comment in return though, and I hope you continue to make more videos. I'd love to see them. Have a great weekend!

Maybe take the camper van out of the recreation area and put an arcade of some sort in there, would be a focal point. Just an idea. I’ve just rediscovered Lego in my 60s, when i was young i had the very basics of bricks with windows and a few wheels, it’s mind blowing what’s available now, I took on the challenge of the original Disney castle recently and now i’m hooked 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hey, from another old bloke in Canada, I really enjoyed your video and your city. I started my Lego City about 7 years ago just before I retired. My youngest son had some Lego when he was young. He grew up and moved to Australia, so the Lego stayed with me and it became my inspiration for a retirement hobby. I have all the Modular’s, but not the Marvel stuff. I have many MOC’s also, plus 7 trains and a shipyard I do agree, one of my favourites it The Fishing Store and my other fav is the Medieval Blacksmith Shop. Oh yes, I also have a couple of large castles and a village. My Lego room is about 18’ x 14’ , with a build table and storage and shelving around the exterior walls. I don’t hunt, fish, cycle, snowmobile, or 4 wheel….so this is my hobby….and I love it. All the best from Canada. 👍🌲🚂😎🇨🇦

Thank you for your kind comments. My favourite modular is the Old Fishing Store, I am thinking of doing a video to argue why I think it's the best modular ever.

@@MrFaulkers I agree with you and I will certainly sign your petition for the Fishing Store as the best modular, although the Medieval Blacksmith Shop is equally as impressive and a fabulous build. You should check it out.
A more personal question, if you don’t mind? My favourite television show is, Escape to the Country, which is shot in great Britain…..so given your accent, may I ask where you live? I am on the East coast of Canada., in the province of New Brunswick. Just curious, if it too personal, forgive me. Most the the Lego people I see on here are much younger and harder to relate to. Anyway…..I ramble on. Thanks for your reply I do appreciate it. Ta Ta for now. 👍😎🇨🇦

From a younger 'old bloke' that also re-entered the hobby mid-covid, looks great!
A thought on the park area you are disappointed with - you could replicate a lot of the landscaping techniques & styles of the Spring Lantern Festival gardens across the road into it. They are all very clever, but not overly complicated. It could look very well considering how close the two areas are to each other.

What a great Lego street. I got back into it a year and a half ago at 45 so can build with my son. Spent thousands and been loving every minute. 😂 I only have 6 Modulars in our Lego street. Wish it had more. My favourites are medieval blacksmith, Eldorado fortress, Galaxy Explorer, wall mounted Batwing, Boutique hotel and the mighty bowser.

I think the natural history museum would look nice in between the diner and the parisian restaurant. I think exposing its side does the model more justice. I got it right in between the sanctum sanctorum next to the alleyway and the boutique hotel, this way it feels like it stands on itself. Great city though!

Actually, I wasn’t happy with putting the museum between other buildings at all. In my country most museums stand alone, usually with a bit of a park or lawn area around them. They are large prominent buildings and deserve to be seen and appreciated. I had an area with two full baseplates so, I centered the museum with a parking area on one end and a small park, with a statue and a small monument on the other, a few small trees and shrubs as well. It’s across the street, side by side, from the Boutique Hotel, which I doubled…and also stands alone. Those two buildings need to be appreciated for their architectural beauty.👍😎🇨🇦

I also just started with Legos during the pandemic. Great job on your city and great job telling the stories with the mini figures. My only feedback is that you might want to change the tiles on the sidewalks to a different color so it doesn’t match the roads. I know most modules have these tiles included but you can always replace them. I did and it made a huge difference. Keep it up. You gave me some great ideas.
