    Check out "Welcome to Euphoria", hes another one of the older bloke gang and he is also playing around with this set and is doing some nice alterations. Might give you some ideas, he certainly gave me a few. After seeing how well this is looking Im starting to wish I bought two, will have to keep my eyes open for another deal. Looks like im popping down to Mederhell ont Cliffe in the morning to raid the old pick a brick wall, heard they got some large plates and curved slopes. Have fun building!

    That be one smart building, right little stunner tha gots thi sen there lad. Recon a window on that white section between the two smaller towers wouldnt go amiss, and perhaps a couple more windows ont tuther side. Im planning on doing something similar to this with that Alpine lodge set, get two sets to make a proper building cos I DOES NOT LIKE this open backed thing Lego be doing, ALL buildings requires ALL their walls- NO EXCEPTIONS. That Alpine lodge looks so good I had to have it for the Christmas set up, will be getting another one of the sets with the little Christmas tram so that I can do ALL the walls, and two of those super cute little trams will make me happy. So as one old bloke to another, have fun building!

    i will say, the two modulars from the original 5 that have aged well, are the Green Grocer, and Fire Brigade. They look like buildings you can blend in with modern sets like the Brick Bank next to the fire brigade as they both have detail brickwork that works well together, and the green grocer is my favourite modular of them all, shame its very expensive :/ But at least there are colour swap options, but i honestly like the green out of them all. Not to mention green grocer and fire brigade have good interiors for their age. Green grocer looks like it blew the budget on the ground floor leaving not much for above, while fire brigade is a bit empty, it at least has a fire truck to make up for it. And n any city, they are essential, people need fires killed, and people need food

    • @MrFaulkers
      @MrFaulkers 2 месяца назад

      Completely agree about the greengrocer and fire station sets. Two of my favourites. The grocer also matches in extremely well when placed next door to the boutique hotel

    @MrFaulkers what a pleasure this was to watch. Your thoughts and simple presentation with your handheld camera worked so well because of your thoughts - short and concise, but to the point. I guess what really comes across well is your appreciation for the hobby, and your love of Lego. The way that you’ve added little stories to your streets is gorgeous, and what it’s all about. When you didn’t like a building, you didn’t hate on it, but instead, just made it clear that it’s not one of your favourites. I feel like I’ve just been to your house, admired your work and listened to all the enjoyment you’ve clearly had over the past four years. I’m glad your wife encouraged you to get into Lego through the Saturn V, and that she hasn’t left you for falling deep into the hobby. Your love of it all is infectious, and I appreciate you sharing this. I hope I live old enough to have such a seemingly wonderful retirement with the love of my life too. Well done, @MrFaulkers. I hope to see you making more videos, perhaps your take on each modular in more depth would be a nice spin off, with more discussion as to why it is located where it is on your street. I own all of the modulars, but I just don’t have the space to store them anywhere yet. I’m hoping to one day, and then I will be building them all, and making my own city. After watching your video, I’m more driven to reach that goal. Thanks again for sharing your passion, and I hope you have many more years with your wife and living a very healthy life. All the best. 🫶

      @MrFaulkers 3 месяца назад

      Gosh! Thank you so much for the very kind and detailed comments. Hope you get the chance to build your city in the near future. Just a thought, as a stop gap, could you display the modulars on wall mounted shelfs? Add some LED light strips on the base of each shelf,and you will have an impressive display. Incidentally, if you haven't seen it, there is a video on my channel showing the street illuminated with dedidicated light kits. Once again many thanks

      @@MrFaulkers no problem at all! I love when people jump into things during their retirement years, and are brave enough to share their findings with the world. 🙌 I'm a videographer by trade, so I want to do build videos for all of the modulars in the future... which is why I'm waiting for a larger space to be able to do this. I have built the Brick Bank, Detective's Office, Palace Cinema, 1/2 of the Book Shop and the Tree House, as well as a few other sets, but I'm going to dismantle the modulars in the future, so that I can do a video on each of them, as like you say, all our opinions help everyone, and I'd quite like to give it a bash from a videography standpoint too! That said, I will watch your other video to see your street illuminated with dedicated light kits! Very cool! I just saw the new lighting tools that Light My Bricks have created, and they look really interesting... it really is a rabbit hole though, and I need to prioritise saving for a home, rather than owning more Lego "homes" / modulars...! Haha! Thanks for your lovely comment in return though, and I hope you continue to make more videos. I'd love to see them. Have a great weekend!

    Maybe take the camper van out of the recreation area and put an arcade of some sort in there, would be a focal point. Just an idea. I’ve just rediscovered Lego in my 60s, when i was young i had the very basics of bricks with windows and a few wheels, it’s mind blowing what’s available now, I took on the challenge of the original Disney castle recently and now i’m hooked 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    Did you go for the bricklink buildings? I quite like the brickcross train station ive ordered. once it comes around Christmas it may just end up being my favourite lego building...but its going to have to be good to beat 4954, which I think is my favourite...but it varies as ive only just got back into lego again after 15 years, didnt have the room for it, but now I have the time and a smidge of space so im digging out a few old sets that are left and adding to them. I love that lighting set up, not sure I have the dexterity and patience though to try it.

  • @neilrusling-je6zo
    @neilrusling-je6zo 3 месяца назад

    Being an old lad anall, my best un is either 4886, two great builds and the red roof and white walls look great, and it was £20 so i got 3. 4956 a different red roof house that was £25 so I got 2. Or 4954, a beige family home for just £40 that still looks quality now. All from a golden lego house building era 20 years back where they concentrated on a nice looking building that didnt break the bank. Together you have a great little suburb, something that lego no longer really does as their houses dont have backs very often, I hate the open back half a building nasty dolls house thing they doin these days, wish they would stop.

    • @MrFaulkers
      @MrFaulkers 3 месяца назад

      @@MrFaulkers For £80 even after all these years thats not bad at all. If I remember rightly it has over a thousand pieces...but no interior to it, they didnt bother with the fancy interiors to buildings back then as no one ever sees the inside.
