Wonder how hot it gets inside the trucks transporting bottled water... In many places more than hot enough to leak bpa into the water. It's pretty obsolete to worry about this when often it's already happend before the bottles have reached the shelf.
If you are really that tedious about the minuet chemicals from plastic, don't drink out of plastic at all. And then look around at the vast chemicals you ingest from other sources.

great ! thanks ! I give you a couple of complementary ideas 1) some accesories for the cans and bottles (ie holders, nozzles, etc ) can be made with 3d printers. 2) i succesfully made some EPS foam supports (cone shaped) (ideally from EPS spare ) very useful as supports for maintaining bottle tops with the tip pointing down so you can use the top parts as flowerpots. Also i plan to use them as rafters for acuaponic beds.

Only problem I see is that the plastic is not UV stable and will degrade and crumble after a year or 2 in direct sunlight. Then you will have the issue of microplastics if its allowed to crumble. You should probably mention that the bottles should be painted so they will last MUCH longer. Otherwise you may be eating that plastic in a couple of years when it becomes micro plastics

@mark hudson Thank you for your patience. I did not know about the carbon footprint of the production process. Thank you for informing me. However, the topic was about the degradation process of the material, which is completely benign. Glass just turns into sand, which perfectly explains whubit doesn't break down for millions of year. It's practically a rock, and so its degradation process is erosion.

It is very important to recycle and reuse all plastics.
Some people need to minimize expenses and may benefit from reusing plastics.
However, some people may find it a little odd to have all of these reused plastic containers all around.
Another way to recycle plastic is to turn it into biodiesel.
All neighborhoods should have a station set up where residents can drop off their plastics and glass for recycling.
All towns should have a total recycling center.
Whenever possible recycling centers need to fully recycle all old electronic paraphernalia.
Thank you for sharing informative videos!

Drill little hole in cap and use a 3 Way swivel so it won’t pull out . Line through swivel or tie to swivel. You can use a Balloon too but the ducks all ways pop it .

Planted 50 fruit trees. Took milk jugs put a tiny 1/16” hole in the side at the bottom, a handful of gravel and filled it with water. The water seeped our slowly and went into the ground with minimal evaporation. The gravel kept them from blowing away. Moved it around the tree every day to so different roots developed.

The problem with using plastic in the garden is that you run the risk of outgassing into the soil and adding plastic particles to the soil that your plants feed off of. In turn adding plastic to your food source

NO. plastic bags r main cause of global warming bcoz its difficult to destroy them. Very good video to reuse bottles👍

Divya Bhatia plastic bottles are harmfull, there are scientific proves that plastic contains dioxines which are toxic. In water from plastic bottles scientists found harmful substancies, some number of them are barely known to science, so we can't say today are dangerous, many of them are for sure are connected with cancer. In this water, and all products from plastic bottles are many microscopic parts of plastic that getting into your body.

Bird feeder hack... Save the plastic container that grated cheese comes in (Parmesan, etc) the kind with the built in shaker holes. All you need to do is tape some string to the bottom with duct tape, fill it with bird seed, and hang it. The shaker holes are the perfect size with the cap open. Smaller birds can hang and eat but not the larger birds. The birds learn to work bill into the holes and Chickadees tap the side like a wood pecker to get seeds dislodged.

Yeah that's why seeds germinate in them and grow into plants! If they were so toxic the plants would NOT grow. It's like the myth that cars are killing plants & greenery when the most lush never ending rows of trees grow right along side major roads and motorways. I always found that funny how all these huge lush trees go on for miles and miles right next the the road. People forget that trees NEED co2 to survive just like we need oxygen. All these Greenpeace leftys would BAN(because they are actually fascists by the definition of the word. people who just ban anything they don't like & enforce their will onto others) co2 completlely if they had their way and end up doing the thing they claim to be stopping... Killing the planet!

They're so toxic that literally every government institution devoted to protect their nations' food and health have approved plastic bottles.
If you distrust all those people, then you might as well go and live as a hermit far off any sign of civilization.

Check Japan, there homeless people dont ask for money, they clean all thrash they can find or picking what people leave in certain places, they organize it and take it to the recycling centres where they get paid, they can eat and the environment is clean, everyone wins.

But you have to pay a 10 cents deposit on the bottle at time of purchase, so you're just getting back what you paid for the bottle not making any money.
Still good because it makes people not want to throw away but get their deposit back.

if you wait until you have enough stuff to fill the car, there's some places where they pay you if you take them the trash all already organised, like plastics and metals, you can mail them first and ask them what kind of stuff them accept, and they pay you by weight.
or at least its like that in Spain.

@@smokwbok The difference between plastic and glass?
Oh, yes, I do. Most garden hoses and the large majority of modern residential water piping in the world are made of plastic.
Only people who are very ignorant would suggest that people can avoid drinking or using water that has contacted plastic, and just "choose glass".
My comment was using sarcasm to point that out.

@@lloydwagner3709 we are talking about plastic bottles here. Not pipes or any other sustained plastic inventions that humanity will continue to use. You are trying to draw parallels between single use plastic bottles ending up in the nature and plastic pipes that are not a single use material. It's not about banning all plastic. It's about banning all "stupid" plastic like bottles, straws, cutlery etc. that our planet chokes of. Can you see the difference between these two?

I have been complaining about plastic for a very long time... I refer to this day and age as the expendable era. Almost everything is made cheaply, using lots of plastic that doesn't last very long and it is cheaper to buy a new one instead of fixing the old one. I still have things that I bought when I was a teenager that is still good but things I have purchased since then fall apart rather easily.

  • @kingofthecrows8802

Okay, the repurposing of plastic bottles is cool. I don't really suggest burying plastic bottles, not necessarily for chemical reasons because it'll be mostly shaded, but drilling "small holes" isn't enough to support root growth, plus, you would only water one side of the plant which isn't good for the plant's growth. Just stick to a regular watering can, people. The practical stuff like picking fruit is neat if you just wash it well with every use, I'm sure the plastic would hold up for a while. In terms of sufficient water, go look at videos where people repurpose rainwater for long term watering in case of drought. There's way more inventive and hassle-free options than cheap plastic junk.
