Wonder how hot it gets inside the trucks transporting bottled water... In many places more than hot enough to leak bpa into the water. It's pretty obsolete to worry about this when often it's already happend before the bottles have reached the shelf. If you are really that tedious about the minuet chemicals from plastic, don't drink out of plastic at all. And then look around at the vast chemicals you ingest from other sources.
great ! thanks ! I give you a couple of complementary ideas 1) some accesories for the cans and bottles (ie holders, nozzles, etc ) can be made with 3d printers. 2) i succesfully made some EPS foam supports (cone shaped) (ideally from EPS spare ) very useful as supports for maintaining bottle tops with the tip pointing down so you can use the top parts as flowerpots. Also i plan to use them as rafters for acuaponic beds.
Only problem I see is that the plastic is not UV stable and will degrade and crumble after a year or 2 in direct sunlight. Then you will have the issue of microplastics if its allowed to crumble. You should probably mention that the bottles should be painted so they will last MUCH longer. Otherwise you may be eating that plastic in a couple of years when it becomes micro plastics

Drill little hole in cap and use a 3 Way swivel so it won’t pull out . Line through swivel or tie to swivel. You can use a Balloon too but the ducks all ways pop it .
Not supposed to drink water out of a bottle that has gotten hot or been in the sun. I wonder what that would do to the plant or the fruit/flower that it produces.
Planted 50 fruit trees. Took milk jugs put a tiny 1/16” hole in the side at the bottom, a handful of gravel and filled it with water. The water seeped our slowly and went into the ground with minimal evaporation. The gravel kept them from blowing away. Moved it around the tree every day to so different roots developed.
The problem with using plastic in the garden is that you run the risk of outgassing into the soil and adding plastic particles to the soil that your plants feed off of. In turn adding plastic to your food source
In my opinion, if it leaching is such a problem the plastic should completely disintegrate. Perhaps, one should weigh the bottle before and after using to actually see how much leaches away.

@@smokwbok The difference between plastic and glass? Oh, yes, I do. Most garden hoses and the large majority of modern residential water piping in the world are made of plastic. Only people who are very ignorant would suggest that people can avoid drinking or using water that has contacted plastic, and just "choose glass". My comment was using sarcasm to point that out.
@@lloydwagner3709 we are talking about plastic bottles here. Not pipes or any other sustained plastic inventions that humanity will continue to use. You are trying to draw parallels between single use plastic bottles ending up in the nature and plastic pipes that are not a single use material. It's not about banning all plastic. It's about banning all "stupid" plastic like bottles, straws, cutlery etc. that our planet chokes of. Can you see the difference between these two?
I have been complaining about plastic for a very long time... I refer to this day and age as the expendable era. Almost everything is made cheaply, using lots of plastic that doesn't last very long and it is cheaper to buy a new one instead of fixing the old one. I still have things that I bought when I was a teenager that is still good but things I have purchased since then fall apart rather easily.
I'm worried about my seedlings that are about 3 inches tall drying out - could covering them with a bottle help them to hold in moisture if they're in direct sun?
Best way to use plastic bottles is to not buy beverages in plastic bottles. Drink water. Best way to save energy is to not use the lights and plugs. Best way to be healthy is to be health.

These plastic bottles are not ment to be reused. If used in these ways you are in sense poisoning yourself. Know your plastics and how to use them. This video should come with a disclaimer.
Because of the cost to recycle it collect it . Reheat, remold it so she's right it helps avoid recycling but it's there to use for free a 2nd time not much power used to drill holes and cut and use it .
Okay, the repurposing of plastic bottles is cool. I don't really suggest burying plastic bottles, not necessarily for chemical reasons because it'll be mostly shaded, but drilling "small holes" isn't enough to support root growth, plus, you would only water one side of the plant which isn't good for the plant's growth. Just stick to a regular watering can, people. The practical stuff like picking fruit is neat if you just wash it well with every use, I'm sure the plastic would hold up for a while. In terms of sufficient water, go look at videos where people repurpose rainwater for long term watering in case of drought. There's way more inventive and hassle-free options than cheap plastic junk.
In Finland bottles cost 0.20 extra, and then we can get the 0.20 back when returning them into the store.

In Australia we get 10 cents (same for soft drink cans) each for them.I know some people who do well at it.☺

정말 멋진 플라스틱병 이용법입니다 ··
Or you can just recycle the plastic.
DrDisasta only 10% actually gets recycled moron
I save my bottles as hydroponics containers.
They work perfectly
you can simply not to buy plastic at all ;) Chose glass.
Yes. Pipe water to your garden in glass, too.
@@lloydwagner3709 do you understand what is the difference between bottle and pipe?
@@smokwbok The difference between plastic and glass?
Oh, yes, I do. Most garden hoses and the large majority of modern residential water piping in the world are made of plastic.
Only people who are very ignorant would suggest that people can avoid drinking or using water that has contacted plastic, and just "choose glass".
My comment was using sarcasm to point that out.
Glass is also bat in processing and cleaning
I love the ideas
Itu semua udah diterapin di daerahku from east jawa indonesia
There hasn't been plastic recycling in over two years.
I'm worried about my seedlings that are about 3 inches tall drying out - could covering them with a bottle help them to hold in moisture if they're in direct sun?
Yup, it will act as a greenhouse.
Wow first 45 seconds of this video spent explaining the title...
very ingenious thanks
Are you challenging me?
Mini greenhouse okay until you have to water it a lot
Best way to use plastic bottles is to not buy beverages in plastic bottles. Drink water. Best way to save energy is to not use the lights and plugs. Best way to be healthy is to be health.
bleach does too.
Thank you.
Number 2 is a trap for frogs
Yeah so true
Awesome video ever seen about reuse of plastic bottles👌👌💐💐
I love that kind of titles : you will never something after something. I'm waiting for the day when i will watch the video named "you will never watch you tube again after watching this video" ... O_o
I hate that I click on some of them...
I used to do many of those things with bottles specially the hanging gardens and all started with a school project when I was 8 xD
Garden shops: "who the hack are you?"
hahahahah
haters will always hate these r great ideas.keep up the good work i very much appreciate this though i have never tried these ideas they all make common sense. i love your spirit and can see why u wanna revolutionize gardening with ur methods. of course a plastic bottle can make a bong but as u demonstrated it has far better uses
These plastic bottles are not ment to be reused. If used in these ways you are in sense poisoning yourself. Know your plastics and how to use them. This video should come with a disclaimer.
Dave Krieger. BULLSHIT.
shane stevens go ahead then help yourself to some of that plastic
Wow, these are actually useful ideas.
0:38 saving them from being recycled? why would you save plastic from being recycled..!
Exactly
Yes exactly what I was thinking .👍
Because of the cost to recycle it collect it . Reheat, remold it so she's right it helps avoid recycling but it's there to use for free a 2nd time not much power used to drill holes and cut and use it .
Reuse before you recycle.
