If the stadium is downtown it should absolutely be on the streetcar line. I just went to a Cubs game where i took the train from my hotel to one block away from the stadium. All of the streets surrounding the stadium were closed off for the game with bars and street vendors.
I have visited 24 of the 30 ballparks out there... my favorite experiences are the ones that are within downtown... so i think this just outside of downtown in crown center would be perfect. Still close to downtown and you can expand to downtown a renewed district. Park downtown, catch the train up to the game. Park at liberty Memeorial. Park in crown center... plenty of street parking from Troost to Main to Broadway...

Kauffman Stadium is a great place for a ball game. Tailgating experience and cost 480 million in today’s money to build has new renovations. Taxpayer’s paying over a billion dollars for a new stadium is a lateral move, if not a step back. Takes money from regular folks and destroys local and small businesses. Well The improvements to Arrowhead just got Rejected before it made it to a vote.. So essentially that's it the Chiefs are coming to Kansas... The Royals aren't even involved in this either there talking to Kansas to. Jackson County is in financial dire straits after Lucas.. It sucks that guy cost you your teams... Vote smarter.
Speaking of Jackson county...someone ought to fire Frank White. All he's done is get in the way. He can't even control his own county employees. Now he's probably going to cost Jackson County $17 million dollars arguing with the city council about how to spend the available covid money available for a few more weeks...before it goes away. Good grief.
The Royals deserve a fresh stadium. Unfortunately, they never developed the area around GEHA Kaufman. It's a dull open landscape. But, can you imagine the traffic and how pissed the neighbors are going to be having, roughly 90 games with drunks, piss, and trash that they are going to have to endure when those games get out? Yikes.
Crown center is downtown, I seen the blue prints for a ball park here in the early 2000’s. It makes sense having it by the rail line….lets see if the city would vote for it !! Royals deserve better ballpark
Granted this space has some good things going for it but...in spite of what they say...not really enough room to do it right. As usual KC is sacrificing parking space leaving it up to attendees to locate a street space...at astronomical event prices...and walk a mile or two. Who the hell wants to do that. Not to mention this would displace one of the few really nice green spaces in the area. So far I've not seen a desirable proposal for a ballpark location. Good luck with that. I'm all for separating the ballpark and football stadium. Much better chance of that part being passed.
