With your awesome review of the J2Ti, I knew I had to purchase it. I just got it yesterday and tried it out today, and not surprisingly, my findings matched with everything you said about it. Drops, dinks, resets, pop, power, spin, control... it scores high on everything for me. As always, thank you for your in depth, honest reviews of pickleball paddles. You and All Drive No Drop are by far my favorite pickleball paddle reviewers.
Your review of the Mark OneX paddle several months ago got me to try that paddle. That resulted in the end of my paddle search. The Mark OneX has the perfect blend of control, spin, power, and sweet spot. I ended up buying several backups, in case the market doesn't sustain the company. Out of the 20 paddles I have, it's my go-to whenever I'm in any game that matters.
LOL what confused me was the thumbnail for this video that showed the new Pickleball Apes Pulse that drops on Thursday.😄 Really looking forward to that review, hear great things about it.
First off, keep up the good work, STS. My J2TI came today, and I like the way it feels overall. However, I feel like it lacks 10-15% more pop and power than I like it. Should I add lead tape to it, and if so, where? Or should I return it and get a new paddle all together? My daily was the Apollo with 1.5g lead in the top two corners and 1.5 on the bottom sides.
I put 5” of lead tape starting 2” out from the grip going up the sides of the paddle. Or you could do 4” of lead tape going up the flat sides of the paddle. Both of those will up the plow through and the power and make it more stable.
Hey man! I love your videos. I saw you for the first time yesterday and have watched a lot of your content! I live in Brazil, and it’s so difficult to find paddles other than Joola, Franklin, and Selkirk. Next month, a friend is going to the US, and I have an opportunity to buy another paddle. I'm looking at the 6.0 Ruby and Spartus Apollo. Which one is better? I need a paddle with durability because I will have to wait a long time for another opportunity to buy one from the US.
I’d grab a Honolulu J2K if you’re looking for Kevlar! It’s incredibly durable and is priced more competitively than the Ruby. I also like it better than the Apollo overall.
J3k with the smaller face is more poppy. And the sweet spot isn’t as big in my experience. I love the J3k, and J7K but for different reasons. J2K is less poppy and yields better control in more scenarios in my experience 😊
I’m on my second M2F 16 since the beginning of the year, wore out the first 8 months in. It’s everything I need except I want a bit more put away power. What’s out there? I’ve tried so many. I have to stick with the same or less sw.
Is the j2k one of your main paddles? I’ve been maining a DBD and been looking for a power paddle but ended up ordering a j2k. I think the control over power paddle may ring true as I see so many people with power paddles than control. They love to smash and hit everything out and have no dink game. What do you think? Might still pick up a tko-c or cx 12.7 to add to the arsenal.
A J2K and a CX 12.7mm and you don’t need another paddle until they literally fall apart 😂 that covers everything you’d ever need. And yes the J2K has never left my bag 😊

Just curious, have you ever played with the Thrive Azul; if so how does that compare?
I’m so happy to hear you’ve found the perfect paddle. It’s such an important decision! Glad I could help on your journey!
@@RickJacked I have never played with that paddle. Until your question, I'd never heard of it.
@@stspickleball I literally wouldn't have found it without you. Thanks again.
@@RickLeBeau you’re very welcome my friend 😊😊
I just got my bowl of popcorn and sat down waiting for the next two videos; Top 5 Power Paddles & Top 5 All around Paddles...can't wait
Get ready 😎😎
What is your spin number for Control 2 Forza? How does the pop compare to Monarch AC? Do you like it better than Mach 2 Forza? Thanks for the vids!

I’ll get that review up as soon as I can. 😊
@@stspickleball okay but you gotta hurry b/c I'm buying that S and V tomorrow 😃

Great list. My top three are Mach 2 Forza, Jelly Bean and HUDEF MAGE Pro Gen2.
I love those choices! All great paddles.

Would you say the CTRL2 Forza is better than the original?
Thanks for your list. HUDEF Mage Pro Gen2 is my favorite control paddle. Spartus Apollo is my backup.
Glad you’re finding those paddles to work for you!
Can you review the apes pulse more?
Dedicated review coming soon!
How are you liking the Pulse S? (See it on the videos cover)
@@kimballlloyd1127 loving the Pulse paddles tbh. Incredible.
Ah man that new PB Apes Pulse! Did you try the wide body shape? TIA!
I did! I have all 3! Still honing in on my review of them. Analyzing the break in period right now. Loving them though!

@@stspickleball what do you mean by more durable? The surface grit would not wear out as fast compare to other paddles?
@@malycw7903 yeah it just feels more substantial. I noticed it when I picked it up. Also yes there is less wear on the J2K vs the Ruby
Any reason for choosing the J2K over J3K for control?

Have you compared any of these to the neonic line?
Yeah! The Neonics are solid paddles. I still think they nailed something special with their Force paddle though. That’s their standout in my opinion.
What the heck is that green thing? Can’t wait to hear the review on that thing. Ugly green but sounds very interesting
