Yeah, 'Waffle Party' is code for 'weird Eagan-themed roleplay orgy', and the masks represent Keir Eagan's Four Tempers (Woe, Frolic, Dread & Malice) that are in turn tamed by the Nine Core Principles on the whip. The Tempers also appear on the computer screens whenever they drag the numbers into a box, (note that the criteria for finding the right numbers is a sense of 'dread' or other relevant emotions) implying that the innies, being in a contextless, 'tabula rasa' state, are teaching the computer how to identify and categorise the Tempers intuitively.

Finally someone who comments on Cobel’s obsession with Mark and his wife remembering each other! 😅 I think it has to be related to her mom(?), because of the respirator thing and the hospital tag. Her conflicting feelings for the Eagans would make sense for someone who was raised in their cult, but had her mom “taken away” or preserved in the testing floor after some health issue. Also, what do you think Mark could have done to get his gift, now that we know why Dylan got his? Can’t wait to watch you falling in love with Ted Lasso!
Lumon is developing a way to revive/reanimate the dead, Gemma is a test subject for this. I believe that Cobel wants to bring back her mother this way, in a severed body. So she could be obsessed with Mark and Gemma remembering each other because she wants to know if her mother will remember her when Lumon brings her back.
@@jessewest5456 Reviving people on different bodies takes the creepiness to another level. I can see it happening. I think her mom must have been severed, right? When she handed Petey’s chip to Graner, her choice of words implied that the chip was Petey. That would also explain her keen interest in reintegration. If the chip truly holds a complete copy of a person, reviving her mom would indeed be feasible.
I found Cobel's reaction to Mark and "Ms Casey" not recognising each other intriguing. She seemed really disappointed that they didn't know each other, she even planted the candle there earlier to, I'm guessing, trigger memories through smell. It's probably something that will be revealed in season 2.
The fact that Mark and his wife really don't know each other shows the innies and outies are truly separate people. Yes, Burt G the innie is effectively dead since his outie will never return to work.
honestly the look after mark tells ms. casey that he can talk to someone to stop her from getting fired breaks my heart because i don't think anyone's done anything for her and i can tell that sharing some of her feelings was scary by the shakiness in her breath before she talked again and it makes me think that she's never been asked about her feelings or anything about herself in a genuine way so she had a safe space to do that for even a little bit with mark and it breaks my heart even more. like... maybe he made her feel like a whole human being and that's why she questioned milchick about being happy up there and almost objected to going up there when she says "could i just-" and the tear rolling down her cheek????
The Waffle Party is a very twisted reward. Lumon has stripped the innies of the possibility of ever having a normal personal life outside of work, so the ultimate reward for working hard is a scenario where you get to "leave" work, go "home" (Kier's house), eat "dinner" (waffles), and have "intimate" time in bed (roleplaying as Kier with the 4 tempers). All of it is twisted by Lumon into a bizarre imitation of a normal life, tainted by Lumon's cult beliefs. In reality, the innies can't go home, they can't have dinner, and they can't have intimate relationships with a significant other. Once I got beyond my initial shock, I found it to be really sad and horrific 😭

The second Cobel asked if Mark ever thinks he sees her I knew Gemma was going to be someone he sees, but I didn't put much thought into who it would be. Then during the reveal, I thought "OMG of course!"
2nd time watching this reaction! Love being on your patreon so I can see it sooner, can't get enough Severance content lol Can't wait till you see the last one!
"Raising Canes" completely forgot about them. I worked in Mississippi and Texas a couple of years ago and totally fell in love with them!! Wishing we had them in Canada!!
The elevator that Ms Casey boarded went down, not up. Remember Cobel said to send Ms Casey back to the testing floor, so maybe she just goes to sleep until revived on the severed floor.
Now that you mention it, I find that having ADHD is a lot like having my Innie's overtime protocol kick in at the worst possible time since his first questions tend to be "what is this (nonsense)" and "why the (emphasis) am I here right now?"!

I love how we’re watching this and hear “Don’t you dare fall for Helly Mark! You have a wife that you are no longer with and can’t ever remember!” even though his Innie doesn’t know he does… yet we are completely saying nothing about the fact that he’s hooking up with Alexa in his Outie form where we actually remembers his wife… 😂😂😂
I'm going to guess that the guy paints his dreams. It would make sense that the only time he sees the testing floor and other areas of Lumen is while dreaming. I would guess that their dreams are the only place that the two parts are one. Just a guess, Angela.
I dont think it’s just dreaming- perhaps it’s just reaching a certain state of dissociation? because of the sounds Helly and Dylan heard in the break room
Yay 2.00 in the AM. Pretty sure I will enjoy this tho 😃. If you managed to wait any time before watching the last episode straight away....I will be surprised. Anyway...on with the reaction. Oh, love the turtleneck, by the way. Can't wait for the finale NEXT ******** WEEK!!!! 😭😭😭 Too long away! Bestest wishes.
My best theory on Ms Selvig and her obsession with Ms Casey/Mark is that their situation is very similar to her and her mother (or whoever the breathing tube is). If the car accident is real, it's possible that Gemma was left severely injured/in a coma and that maybe there is some kind of permanent severance procedure that works to allow the person to function in a limited capacity. If that is the case, the same thing could've happened to Ms Selvig's mother and she may not remember Ms Selvig at all, so she keeps testing Mark/Ms Casey to see if they ever have any feelings "break through" the severance.
It is interesting when you say that Cobel seems to care about Mark when she is Ms. Selvig, but no so much as Cobel in Lumen. I disagree, as Ms. Selvig, she is clearly spying on him and pretending to like him in order to get closer to him. Just based on this version of her, I would guess she does not care about him at all. But in Lumen, she has no reason to pretend and there we see much more her true self. I think Cobel does care about him in some capacity, but more as an subject of an important experiment than anything else.
I just want to know why he appears to be the only one with useful information for her experiments. why not Irving for example? he keeps falling asleep. wouldn’t he be able to provide useful information about the ability to blur the lines between innie and outie? Is it possible that she already lived in the empty neighborhood and Mark just happened to move in next to her…? that seems like a weird coincidence. but if not, when did she move in there to spy on Mark? and after she put “Ms. Casey” back on the testing floor, did she have other plans/experiments for her or Mark?? so many questions
BTW, you might be right but I don't think the term is unsevered. The unsevered version of them is before they were severed. The overtime version is their innie on the outside. Don't know what you'd call the innie at work, maybe undertime or pre-time?
Now we get to my crackpot theory 😅. I think Cobels mother was one of the first severed. Most likely they experimented their devices in medical trails on people who donated their bodies to science/research(experiment treatment). Cobell could of been the child of the innie version cause we know the innies end up having relations or getting abused and she grew up with two similarly intense but vastly different mothers (like how Helly and her outtie are the same but also vastly different.) it would explain so much for why she’s so obsessed with with Mark and reintegration and if it ever happens because, A her mom is still alive and still a part time employee or B she experiences some signs of reintegration with her mother which is why she knew when reintegrate started with Petey. Just my crazy theory 😝.
Hmm. Bert and Irv. Bert and Irving - sounds a lot like Bert & Ernie. The actors even share physical similarities to the muppet duo. I really hope this was accidental.
Strong recommend. Severance and yellowjackets are my probably my fav shows rn. They are the most anticipated 2nd seasons for me so I'm glad yellowjackets s2 is finally airing.
