As for the wolf scene: The whole film Fantastic Mr Fox tells himself he is a wild animal, that he has a certain nature a biological instinct. Yet we see him wearing clothes, driving vehicles and being sophisticated. The wolf does not speak, does not wear clothes, walks on all fours and lives in the cold desolate mountains, a truly wild animal. When Mr Fox see's the wolf he realises, he was never a wild animal, and he doesn't have to be, he can be whatever he wants to be in order to be happy. His happiness is not dictated by his 'nature' or his biological instinct, but by him, and who he chooses to be/ how he chooses to act.
Im so glad you enjoyed Fantastic Mr. Fox, JV! It is the best combination of the beautiful, surreal world of a Wes Anderson and the painstaking craftsmanship of stop motion animation. A joy to watch.
I can’t give a perfect interpretation for the scene with the wolf, but this is the conclusion I’ve come to: It is assumed that dogs and wolves are wild animals set apart from the intelligent ones in this fictional version of the world. Throughout the film Mr. Fox says he has a phobia of wolves. Until recently I believed he was afraid of them simply because they are wild and could eat him. In reality, he’s not as afraid of wolves as much as he is afraid of “being like a wolf” or “being like a wild animal”. Mr. Fox admits he loves to be this cool “Fantastic Mr. Fox” persona he created, but he doubts he can truly live up to it. He says in response to his mistakes it’s because he is a wild animal. He believes he will inevitably fail at being a “Fantastic Mr. Fox” because of what he is. It’s not much of a stretch to assume he doubts himself because of his canine genes being so close to dogs and wolves. He’s afraid of coming into contact with a wolf because then he will know if he’s similar to them or not. The scene with the wolf is so beautiful because he finally comes into contact with one and is trying to communicate with it, but he can’t. The dramatic weather difference is symbolism for them living in two different worlds. One wild and one that’s not. They simply raise their fists in understanding that they are separate. Mr. Fox cries in the scene because he realizes he’s not like a wolf at all. He’s not the inevitability wild animal he was so afraid of being. He can be the “Fantastic Mr. Fox”.
So much of this is phrased like a speech Mr. Fox would himself make. i don’t think you argue against this but I want to add that dogs seem like unintelligent rather than wild animals in this film and that’s why they don’t speak. there is a gap in connection/communication between foxes and dogs but Mr. Fox certainly doesn’t fear or respect the dogs.
If you loved this film so much, you would love all Wes Andersons films. Their all made like this with bright colours, incredibly detailed setpieces unmoving wide shots and *_insanely_* witty dialogue
You should do more Wes Anderson films. If you like this one you will love some of his others like Life Aquatic and Moonrise Kingdom. There are tons of great Wes Anderson movies.
This was so wonderful to watch! I tried watching this with some of my friends but they didn't quite get the humour of it which made it a bit of a letdown. To see someone have the same reactions as me and be so invested was great! One of my favourite videos of yours for sure :D keep up the awesome work!
THANK YOU JV! This has been a personal fav of my brother and I for YEARS!! The humor is wonderfully dry and right up our ally, and now I get to see your reaction...In the words of Ice Cube, Today was a good day lol
it's my favorite 💛! It was so fun to rewatch it with and you hear how much you were entertained by all the same chaotic parts 😂 Wes Anderson is a whole inspiration and I love, love love his style. Hyper-Stylized, Hysterical Whimsical Realness. That's my Jam ☺️
My brother introduced me to this movie, it’s definitely one of a kind! I wish more people would react to it or, if they’ve seen it, at least mention it more often. 🤩
My absolute favorite animated movie, you should definitely checkout more of Wes Anderson’s Films! The Grand Budapest Hotel Isle of Dogs Moonrise Kingdom (: happy watching!
Great reaction! This was a surprisingly good movie! I recommend these animated movies that are in my opinion really good but severely underrated: The Willoughbys, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, Birdboy: The Forgotten Children and The Suicide Shop!
Most of Wes Anderson's film are live action but most have a very similar esthetic to this film, his first of two animated film. One of his live action film I'd recommend is Budapest Hotel.
So glad you reacted to this one and that you enjoyed it! My husband and I watch this over and over again and we love the whistle click click thing! Your laugh is contagious! 😃
"Whats in the bucket Mr.Kylie?" @.@ "You see what his eye look like?...Kylie...KYLIE!!!!" Lmao, whenever someone does that face, always made me laugh. "A wet sandwich." is such a good insult, XD!!! "You're supposed to be MY lab partner." "I AM." "No you're not...you're disloyal..." XD!!!
I never have a chance to watch fantastic mr. 🦊 at the theaters 13 years until, I first saw this movie on cable tv 📺 3 years ago and I enjoyed the stop motion movie, along with my brother.
Wow, that was unexpected, but totally cool) hope one day you also will watch Isle of Dogs, another Wes Anderson stop motion movie, it’s also really good
Yes. Up is still an overrated film simply because of its opening. Audiences have a penchant for overly emotional narratives. Fantastic Mr. Fox is an animation with much more content, technique and style.
I had the honor of watching this in the cinema when it came out and I was blown away! Sad thing is there were 12 people in there including me. No idea why people overlook this masterpiece but I'm glad you got to watch it now
"Having George Clooney as the main guy feels weird. He's too big of an actor to do something like this" Excuse me? This a masterpice of a movie But in the end I'm glad you really liked it (and it's humor). It really deserves the 10/10 If you are interested in a similar movie I recommend "Island of Dogs", I liked it although I like this movie more.
This is the greatest “kids” movie I’ve ever seen. You have to watch it a couple of times to catch all of the amazing lines/quirks/behaviors. My kids watched it and loved it as early as 5 years old. They thought it was hilarious but couldn’t really explain why. Now they’re teenagers and still love it because they get the genius of it and the hilarity. I think it’s best for adults really. There will never exist a more perfect movie in every way. All of my friends and family members have been using quotes from this movie for years. It never gets old
“Imagine if someone did that (had a calling card/trademark) in real life” yeah I had a friend named James Weeks that would literally say “James Weeks!” whenever he entered a room or someone else said his name. It sure was something.
I couldn't watch it because it's nothing like the book which is a condemnation of foxhunting and badger baiting in the UK. They instead made it some hokey story with foreign accents in a nation that doesn't even have red foxes. It's just garbage and would only work on an illiterate audience that never read the book as a child either. Because if you had, this load of sentimental anthropomorphic tat would also make your brain cry.

I have seen this film loads of times and I never worked that out. Thank you.
Well said

I absolutely adore Wes Anderson movies. They have such a distinct art style and somehow make you nostalgic for something you've never experienced.

He can be the “Fantastic Mr. Fox”.
If you can’t tell, I love this movie. I’m always excited to show it to people for the first time.

This is one of my favorite movies and I feel like it gets nearly not enough credit for how great it is. Thank you so much for watching it.
I totally agree!
Mr. Fox's wife is voiced by Meryl Streep. Ash is voiced by Zack Schwarzman
If you loved this film so much, you would love all Wes Andersons films. Their all made like this with bright colours, incredibly detailed setpieces unmoving wide shots and *_insanely_* witty dialogue

That wolf scene is cemented in my head as the funniest thing to ever exist.
This movie has been getting me high on it's own since it came out. Watch it every year more than once.
Another Roald Dahl adaptation I recommend to you is The BFG (1989)!

I loved Isle of Dogs. And I need to finish Grand Budapest Hotel.
Oh man I completely blanked on Life Aquatic, haven’t seen it in years 🤦🏼♀️
Omg so excited for a new Wes Anderson!! 😍

I love the way Michael Gambon (Bean) talks. There's so much personality in his voice.
The scene with the wolve is more meaningful than you think. Its the essential scene of the Movie
One of my favorite scenes, in any movie.
Wes Anderson is such a brilliant guy.
Edit: you should definitely check out the film Grand Budapest Hotel!

Wow, that was unexpected, but totally cool) hope one day you also will watch Isle of Dogs, another Wes Anderson stop motion movie, it’s also really good
This was nominated for Best Animated Film but lost to Up
Yes. Up is still an overrated film simply because of its opening. Audiences have a penchant for overly emotional narratives. Fantastic Mr. Fox is an animation with much more content, technique and style.
Written and directed by Wes Andersen starring George Clooney as Mr. Fox; a columnist who wants something more for his life
I had the honor of watching this in the cinema when it came out and I was blown away! Sad thing is there were 12 people in there including me. No idea why people overlook this masterpiece but I'm glad you got to watch it now
13:00 - They shot! They shot his f... tail off!
The realtor is voiced by Wes Andersen
"Having George Clooney as the main guy feels weird. He's too big of an actor to do something like this"
Excuse me? This a masterpice of a movie
But in the end I'm glad you really liked it (and it's humor). It really deserves the 10/10
If you are interested in a similar movie I recommend "Island of Dogs", I liked it although I like this movie more.
Because this is a stop motion film, there is a British series with the same kind of animation I recommend watching called Wallace and Gromit.
So glad to see another person react to this movie. It is my all time favorite.
Brought to you by Director Wes Andersen in this stop-motion animated film starring George Clooney as Mr. Fox, a thief
If u liked this movie so much, look up Isle of Dogs (2018). Same director and stop motion animation style
Omg I’ve never seen anyone react to this!
This movie was based on a Roald Dahl book
This is my favorite movie of all time!!
I read the book many times before watching the film! It's been years since I last watched it!
it actually is true that the pull-back is what generates force in a kick or punch lmao, or at least more force than if you didn't pull back.
A lot of people enjoy working with Wes Andersen
Youve gotta check out my favorite movie, The Grand Budapest Hotel!!! I bet youd love it!
This is the greatest “kids” movie I’ve ever seen. You have to watch it a couple of times to catch all of the amazing lines/quirks/behaviors. My kids watched it and loved it as early as 5 years old.
