    • @janedough6410
      @janedough6410 3 года назад +1

      Actually, it depends upon the student, major, your educator and the institution. Some subjects are easier and I may not need an instructor. Just give me a syllabus and a deadline. Other subject (Eng Lit 🙄) I may be challenged if the instructor expects the same interpretation with a rigid syllabus. Some college curriculums may be easier than others (2 yr. vs. 4 yr). Today's education tools makes learning easier. I could rewind the lecture or visit another site. Anybody remembers those big as textbooks with 700-1000 pages?

    What Riley needs to recognize is that her MOTHER was SMART enough to recognize the importance of providing her daughter with a great education to prepare her to go to college. The intelligence comes from her Mom. Young people want to get away from home so quickly then reality hits.

      Kandi was traveling a lot while Riley was young plus being a young single mom herself I think that’s why they have the awkward dynamic. Kandi acts like more of a big sister than a mother. Riley has always been a little too “grown”. She never gave me sweet little girl vibes even when she was young. I think Kandi may have spoiled her to compensate for not being around all the time and Riley’s dad not being in the picture. Plus add momma Joyce attitude on top who she was probably around the most and you get Riley.

    Riley, stop telling your mom “you didn’t go to college. You didn’t go to college.” That’s mean. It can make people feel bad. I went and graduated from college but I don’t throw it in people’s faces. It just comes off mean and cocky. There are different paths to achieving success in life. Kandi’s path certainly lead her to success. Hopefully, your path will lead you to success as well. Be humble.

      Being educated on different levels be it street or book smart is what builds our intelligence. Not the physical attending of college. If not for your mother's "smarts" you wouldn't be the, privileged, child that you are Ms Riley. Also, I, usually, jump to the children's defense, when ppl jump in the comments "attack" their character or actions. However, Ms. Riley, I find it hard to do so with your situation. I would say " you all see a small window into their life, etc etc", but on multiple occasions you have come across, outright, disrespectful. I thought ppl were bugging out in you Ms. Riley, but you have made it a point to voice on 1 too many occasions that you don't feel you mom is book smart. That she's the "smart" that counts. If course, you would say that, bc w/o those same "smarts" you, at your age, would not have the luxuries that you have. I mean, for Pete's sakes, you rolled up to NYC in a Porche SUV, is it!?!? Some children are "lucky", if you will, ( I don't believe in luck) to receive a scholarship, and be gifted a Lyft acct for transportation. Hell, if that, others have to figure it ALL out. However, you were leased an apt, basically, for trial your, over the Summer. Until u got everything together and ready to roll. Then as you speak, you still don't realize these are beyond privileges, bc from what I can gather, you sure didn't walk into the 1at semester, or should I say, walk out the 1st semester as if you earned and deserved to be at NYCU. U barely passed, well compared to the straight A's that you usually made & your focus wasn't there, as it would have been when mommy & Todd were riding that coat tail. Do you need a refresher course!?!?!? I'll, gladly, come be nanny for Kandi, so that she doesn't have to be hella worried, or throwing hints out during the taping of, "Speak On It" that your spot isn't the "chill" spot! Make Auntie Key have to come find the sweet, meek & humble appearing Riley back. Bc, hey, maybe the disrespectful Riley has, always, been there and bc we didn't see much of you in camera, amidst the fact that you are an adult now too. I know this, you aren't too grown to ask for a "tipping allowance" so you aren't too grown to get your little ass spanked. Better yet, now that you're older, it's a little wider, so, the better to land a belt, my dear🤣🤣🤣🤦🏾‍♀️

    Riley, read the “Miseducation of the Negro” your mother is a genius! She has the know how to build an industry and afford you the opportunity to have what you’ve been privileged to. Unfortunately, college will teach you what you can’t do. The most successful Black businesses were built by people without college degrees. You can always ask Todd for help. It’s different when you grow up in the south instead of NYC or any large urban metropolis. You have the ability to own your own house and not rent. Kandi you would have spent your money better if you sent her to a HBCU.

Riley's right, a college educated person understands the dynamics of college, Kandi doesn't. There's definitely a difference! For some reason, folks who didn't go to college, think it's just about books. Attending college 100s of miles away is life changing, hands down! When she finishes her degree, she might somewhat look down (hopefully she doesn't bcz her mom can teach her alot) on Kandi until she really understands her mom's struggles and sacrifices.

    • @876me7

      Maybe because every place has a different lease also every state has different real estate laws that are reflected in the lease. Some lease agreements can be simple and others very complicated and require a lawyer to review. Depending on the lease it’s advisable to have a lawyer review it otherwise a lay person reviewing themselves wouldn’t understand it and end up signing it being totally unaware of important terms.

I didn't like it at first, but it works for me because I work full-time, plus the school is not in the area. With online classes you have to be very disciplined and on top of your assignments because you're not in class where the teacher is reminding you or you don't have do think about what all needs to be done. Riley, I know you love your mom BUT- how do you think it makes her feel when you keep reminding her that she didn't go to college? People have feelings-including moms. You are old enough to care about how you make OTHERS feel. Get it together girl. You don't want people to think you are just a spoiled brat.Your mom chose the road she wanted. She has opened a door for you to choose the road you want. Just because your mom laughs at your comments about college does not mean she likes it. Inside,it must hurt her, So be more respectful and appreciative. Most college students do not have someone paying for their education. Kandy- I know you love your daughter. But be careful not to " parent out of guilt-"by giving her too much. She needs to learn to make it in the real world. Guide her to be responsible and independent-don't give it all to her. Good luck Riley. Thanks for remembering to be respectful and loving to your mom. I finished college-and so did my husband and 2 children. But all of us WORKED while in college. That's where you learn to be INDEPENDENT.My children didn't have to pay for any college expenses-BUT we told them they had to get a job. That paid for their extra expenses. It also taught them to budget money and operate in the real world. Riley-Don't just go to college-make sure you FINISH college. You have just completed the easiest part. Hang in there. And be respectful to Mom-ALWAYS.

      @@daphneepaul3737 Sheesh 2 hours is a no go for me! That’s some dedication lol. But hey it sure does have its perks though like being able to manage your time and have more of a life outside of school 😂👌🏾

      I agree. I’m a senior in high school, and the transition hit me hard. Online school is more difficult than being in class. Plus I didn’t get to experience my senior year in school with my classmates.

      I’m doing a Masters program online. I don’t understand all the complaints. Visual online is still visual. 🤔

      @@marriejames01 Yeah, every major is different. For example, some people may need to learn math by seeing it step by step on the board vs teaching yourself.

    Love them both! At that age, you don’t know what you don’t know. You sometimes compare your parents “smarts” to things you know and do at 18. My mother never finished high school, but was one of the most intelligent people I knew! The older I got and the more I lived out in the world, I always found myself saying, “Mama was right again!” Lol

    College is not the only way to get educated. Trust. Kandi is self made just like Sir Richard Branson and he dropped out of middle school... don't let these lil $100,000 pieces of paper full you!!! And yes Riley have more respect for moms, because you would be wearing a $20 Rainbow sweater instead of $1k Balenciaga hoodie on your back, and putting you in a top tier college, if it wasn't for her being smart and hustling!!! Imo Kandi spoiled you to the point that you cannot even keep house. You don't appreciate how good of a life she has afforded you. This sense of entitlement you have is sad. But you gonna learn today! These youngins today boy I tell you!!!

    If I was Kandi, Riley would have been keeping her behind in the dorm until she could prove to me (by getting the grades up) that she is deserving of the off-campus apartment.

    She was so quiet on the show before college. You can tell that being away from home has made her shell open. It's beautiful to see.
