- Mývatn is a lake in Northern Iceland, the name is used also for the stunning and diverse surrounding area of volcanic origin.
Locations in the video: Hverir/Hverarond (0:06), Viti Crater (1:07), Krafla Lava Fields (1:35), Geothermal pool (2:13), Myvatn Nature Baths (2:37), Hverfjall Crater (2:54), Dimmuborgir - volcanic caves and rock formations (3:12), Höfði (3:37), Skútustaðir - area of pseudocraters formed by steam erruptions (4:01).
Recorded June 2016 in 4K (Ultra HD) with Sony AX100.

The color of the lake water is very beautiful.The outdoor hot springs are also impressive. Most of Iceland's land seems to be black. Probably because of the volcanic ashes.

Stunning, at times like Mars others like the Moon. You should think about adding City videos. Beautiful, interesting cities that you travel through to get to this amazing places. To music of course. lol
+NeonsStyle Cities are easier to get to, but sometimes harder to film. Have done several in the past, and want to do many more, somehow national parks and exotic locations come first, but it is really time for more cities :)

not sure about the origin of the color, but the area is highly volcanic, and also used to produce energy from the thermal sources

never been impressed with Iceland, very plain compared to Alaska....IMO
Have not visited Alaska yet, it is certainly in my plans, but during my trip in Iceland I was amazed how scenic the country is, way above my expectation, even though the country is known for its beauty. Probably in 3-4 weeks I will release full video covering all places I visited in Iceland and it will give you better idea, compared to this video from a single area
