Hvac tech from .Miami, great video bro. First thing I do when a compressor is no running is pressing the shreader valve to see if it has refrigerant. But then again everybody has their own steps. Thanks for the tip
I'm an electrician in florida, what's this "hazard pay" you speak of? Never heard of it and I've done lots of hot work and been shocked many times as an apprentice l.
New guys single phase motors ohm values. Start to common + run to common= start to run. If the ohm readings don't add up the motor is bad. 3 phase ohm values of a motor. All 3 phases will be equal
Have a change of clothes, shoes before or getting back home. Right to the clothes washer and shower. Clean hands 5x. after leaving the job and getting home.
This Covid-19 situation is making EVERYTHING so difficult now + you run the risk of catching the 🦠 by simply doing your J O B‼️ Who would have thought life could become so stressful ☹️
Got a 2 year old airtemp 2 ton outside unit. Went to beach came back to unit being 100x louder. New filters. New batteries on thermostat. Cleaned coils. The unit blows cold air from the top instead of warm or hot. Fan runs. Compressor is on. But I seen online the Compressor is bad and having it replaced. But the question is what caused it to go bad. Do I need to look for another issue. Any advice from the community would help bigtime
Hi John, AC unit is freezing up trying to hit 70f everytime its hot out. Have refilled refrigerant , cleaned evap coil, all registers are open and air filter clean. what to investigate next?
@@johnisraelhvac2019 smh of course....i don't have any experience in the field just schooling....i watch your vids to keep the info somewhat fresh...been a fan for a while
John, be careful please. You have a wife and kids to think about. If you do end up getting the job, a good N95 mask, gloves and booties. Not mention carrying around a good hand sanitizer. Get in, get out. leave all the doors and windows open and be careful what you touch. Good luck.
Been watching your videos all evening. I UNDERSTAND your exposure concerns. My AC is not cooling. Blower motor runs, condenser fan runs, AC on but only cooling to 80°F. Had a company come & check. He was masked, gloved & shoe covers. Did his testing told me evaporator coil is leaking & I need a whole new system for $6000. Charged $98 for service fee. Then company sent a sales rep. to find out which system I wanted to have installed. I masked up & keep my distance both times. Did sanitize inside, outside units & door knobs. I'm toughing it out in 90° Ga. heat. I'll get a second opinion. History: A week or so ago I noticed very little cooling, with condensate line outside dripping. Evaporator coil & outside copper line was frozen, I turned AC OFF, fan ON, & I thawed with low temp. heat gun. Then blower motor died. I had to wait until Mon. morning to buy a capacitor. I flipped breaker OFF & replaced it & blower motor STARTED. Senior citizen woman will get a second opinion, taking a chance of someone else coming in house has me worried. If I have to get new system, they'll have to be in house a long time, this me on edge right now. Haven't seen son or granddaughter since Jan. I may just get window unit to tie me over the summer. Any suggestions are appreciated. Everyone stay safe & protect yourselves.
Not worth risking your health over, one in every thousand has died of Covid here, I've had a mild case back before lockdown, still got limited sense of taste, eyesight bad, still getting out of breath walking up stairs.... No idea if i'll get back to normal health in the future.
You’ll be fine. My wife had it , while pregnant, for a month, before they named it COVID. My uncle had it. Few people at work had it. It’s going to take people getting back to normal, risk taking lives to get this shit to go away. We need to stop being so sanitized and anti outside if we ever hope to beat this shit.
Don't do the job, John. It's not worth dying over a leaking evaporator. If you DO decide to do it, after the landlord sprays everything down with lysol, have him open ALL windows for 6 hours and wait until they are out of the house at least five days. Bring newspaper to set any tools on, do NOT rub against anything with your clothing, and wear gloves and a mask. Get in and out ASAP do NOT touch your face. Take off gloves pulling the first glove off via dirty surface to dirty surface. For the second, slide your fingers from your clean hand inside the clean portion of the remaining glove. Outside, wash your hands a few times for a couple minutes then sanitize. Shoes come off and get sprayed with sanitizer then tossed in a box or bag before going in the VAN. Hop in van and change clothes putting the clothes you wore in a garbage bag for later washing. New shoes... Then straight home for a shower. Next monitor your temperature for 14 days.
Samuel Sech it is only a joke until you get sick and cannot breath. It is killing people younger and more physically fit than John, so it this is a household with a likely COVID-19 infection... John should avoid it.
Cinnamon GMC agreed completely remove makes last... and after handling your clothes, your hands need washing again. For a shirt it is best to unbutton it and NOT pull it over your head if avoidable, too.
What I like most about this guy is how humble he seems

A leaking evap coil on a newer indoor system really does suck. Hopefully you get to get it all taken care of

Great videos..how do you like using the dl479?
Hi buddy!

Why you do continuity to know if overlocked compresor??
Could you explain it.
I like your videos.

Nice work John. Can you do a video of checking a run cap under load
Definitely keep us posted. This seems to be a very interesting situation. Just you make sure you stay safe brother.
Looks like it’s time to sell the owner a UV light if you could get your hands on one lol.
That sucks, especially that you said the indoor unit is newer. Hopefully something minor and fixable. 👍👍

👍 nice job John
John, you're a good guy.
Why don’t HVAC technicians not use dielectric grease on the connections to increase the life of the connections from oxidization?
Awesome video. Super helpful
you do great work JI. thanks for sharing your vlog and knowledge. Keep at it (hvac) bro'! from Houston.
Looks like the indoor evap coil got a case of the covid19. Maybe put a mask over that hissing spot. :)

Ok... I don’t hear shit.
Bahaaa this is the best!
If it were thermal overload you would just put a wet rag on top of the compressor.....correct?
No I use a water hose to cool it off.
