The necessity of formality -from frame to gallery deliverance is a funny thing isn't it. The supposed aid in taking something seriously, but then having to immediately separate this imposed environment to understand a piece's true "weight". Especially when it comes to something like this kind of straight material reaction/manipulation Richter does. Such a trade-off which can initially undermine the work and the legitimate nature of the gallery, sponsor.

Worum es wirklich geht, das frage ich mich auch . Solche Spachtelbilder habe ich auch schon gemacht. Diese Kunst erschließt sich bestimmt nicht nur mir nicht.
