Do you know if the dealer mode access is a the same on any other Kawasakis. It seems like there is a fair bit of electrics standardisation since canbus happened. Anyway... very interesting.
I'm not sure. It's on the Z1000, Z1000SX and Versys 1000, which are all covered by my Haynes manual. For other bikes I couldn't say but it wouldn't be a surprise with so much standardisation.
Yes it’s on the z1000sx 2018 ... I had a fault light come up on my bike .. I did the same diagnostics check that it told me to do in the manual .. a bit different to this video .. but the same principle.. it gave me a fault code .. I then looked it up ..( can’t remember where ).. maybe the service manual..and it told me it was the “oil pressure relief valve “”... because it was under warranty I took it to Kawasaki, where they put their official dealer diagnostic computer on it... and sure enough it was exactly the part that the bike said !!!!! I had it changed under warranty and then they reset the light ... so it does work !!👌👌👌👌👏👏👏👏... enjoying the vids as always !!!👌👌👌🤜🤜
hey can you help me, i have kawasaki z9000 2020 version, my orange faulty sign light is blinking , so after googling i tried many ways , but i cant find error code, if i long press the left button nothing happens in odometer mode, i pressed both button than their is only options of display, rpm, bluetooth, etc. but their is no error code displaying, all the tutorials are of z900 older version which had analong with digital but i have 2020 version which is fully digital.
Hello. I have a z1000r of 2018. I made the maintenance by myself. And I have 2 error codes. The 13 and 32... can you tell me where is the problem ? Thanks
Hi, sorry for the slow reply. 13 is an intake air pressure sensor warning indicating a sensor failure, wiring open or short circuit. 32 is the same but for the subthrottle sensor. The engine management system will be taking steps to avoid causing damage including closing the subthrottle.
Hi Leo. If it's the same as on my bike, it's a warning about the front wheel rotation sensor not sending the correct number of signals per wheel rotation. Could be that one of the holes in the ring is blocked or damaged or a fault with the sensor itself. It could also be the air gap for the sensor being incorrect or a break in the wiring for that circuit. Failing all of that, it could be an ECU problem. If you have access to a service manual, there's a small set of checks you can undertake listed on page 3-71.
@@bluebee7689 I've not tried it but the book does talk about the two different dashes, so it's worth a try. At worst it'll try to set your clock or something :-)
That one is "Rear inlet solenoid valve trouble (shorted or open, stuck valve)". The service manual states: Recheck the service code indication; erase the service code, perform the pre-diagnosis inspection and retrieve the service code. If the yellow ABS indicator (LED) [A] light, the solenoid valve in the ABS hydraulic unit has trouble. Replace the ABS hydraulic unit. If the yellow ABS indicator (LED) does not light, ABS system is normal (service code is not stored; temporary failure.).
@@CalmBiker Animal is different Richard there is no 4 pin connector to be found on the 1000 at the shop only 2x6 pin connectors and I'm sure it is one of them.
That's an indication of a fault with the Exhaust Butterfly Valve Actuator. Under the front seat you should find the pulley. Turn on the ignition with that visible and it should turn clockwise then anticlockwise then clockwise again. It could be that there's an electrical issue with it or a blown fuse.
Hmm. According to the manual I have, the service codes are always two digits. Could it be code 24? That would be an issue with the rear wheel rotation sensor.
If the fault codes are the same as for mine, 21 is "Crankshaft sensor malfunction, wiring open or short" and 25 is "Rear wheel rotation sensor signal abnormal (sensor or rotor missing, too large clearance, rotor tooth worn or missing, wiring open)".
Definitely worth getting it checked out if the light isn't coming on. Sorry for the late reply. I've just received some very late notifications from RUclips.
@@justinaskvedaras843 if you are under the tank it's always very tight and a bit awkward. Just slow, steady and methodical. Definitely worth getting hold of the service manual and going step by step.

I don't have anything.
big service coming up mate

You should be able to buy a Healtech OBD for Animal which will hook up to the connector and a laptop and you can cancel codes yourself.
Is it the right type of connector for you? Hope this helped!

Code 39 is an ECU communication failure. Might we worth checking the cables.
