    Great video! Eastern Cape has some very productive estuaries that really need to be protected from pollution and overfishing. Don't keep more fish than you can eat in a day. Resources like this should be well managed and preserved for many generations to come. ❤

      Very true bud. I take it even further and release everything. I never keep fish. If everyone released, imagine how good the fishing would be 😁

    Wow Gregg that was a most amazing session you had. Sadly here in Durban we don’t have any rivers that are clean and still productive. Congratulations on your catches super catches dreams.

      Thats bud. Its sad that the Durban rivers are so polluted. Many of Ours as also bad in East London area. Overfishing is also a huge problem so fishing is getting harder and harder these days 😢

    Epic session💯 you so blessed to be able to fish and catch multiple species that are most are good as trophie fish💪🔥 ohya i noticed with grunter alot of them come off with circle hooks or short shank hooks, i think the best all around hook is a mustard needle point, but i think a daichi needle point is also tops, you wont loose alot of fish especially grunters, i know u like releasing your fish but if they hooked abit deep can just cut the hook of since they are very thin gauge hooks and will rust quick i guess👍

    • @FishingEasternCapeSA
      @FishingEasternCapeSA  5 месяцев назад

      You are correct brother. 100% blessed.
      And its correct what you say about hooks. I do really try to not let the fish swallow. I used different baits and different sizes of circles and J hooks. But the tricky thing at this spot was that while fishing for grunter i would loose big kob if i didn't use the correct hooks. First big 15kg kob there i caught on a 3/0 circle and sandprawn so I got lucky. I ended up settling with 5/0 J hooks for the best all round results. You will see in future videos. I have tons of more footage ill release in future. We really got some real monsters there. This video was only the start of it all. Ill take a few years to release all the footage.

    • @FishingEasternCapeSA
      @FishingEasternCapeSA  5 месяцев назад +1

      I need to show more of that in future videos. At this early stage fishing here i was using a tri-swivel, a one ounce sinker and a suitability sized circle hook with mullet or pilchard. This was a very odd, trace especially for a blind river. I did this because there was so much weed there and i needed the bait to sit dead still else it got completely smothered in weed. Sandprawn I didn't use any sinker. Just a circle hook. But tried to keep the sandprawn on the sand bank away from the weed. Wait for future videos i have amazing footage stored. This little river produced some incredible fish.

      Hi. No its old footage which i held on to for years. I have only released now because the river opened and the fish are gone. I wanted to protect the fish so i kept it secret. Plenty more amazing footage to come in future. We really got some monsters there.
