@@livemusicalgarve That snare, those toms, that kick, that room... and THAT drummer. One of the Phattest grooviest mofos around. I saw this and jumped on the kit and tried to play with the same huge feels and swagger... I failed. But I was inspired. That's the best any drummer can do to a fellow drummer!
Keltner has got to be one of the coolest cats alive. An absolute legend and one of the most humble, generous, and soulful dudes you could ever meet. He looks great (82!) and is playing just as good as ever. Keltner has double drummed with so many other incredible players (Keltner's work with Jim Gordon is for the ages) and Abe is in great company with such a sympathetic partner as Keltner.
But everyone who truly knows music still knows his name and honours his genius. His humility is also a factor in his level of wider fame. He could have been a full Wilbury alongside Dylan, Harrison, Orbison et al, but refused - instead accepting the moniker Buster Sidebury.
wow, what a treat to the ears. amazing sound. the amount of work that goes into a room like that is massive. very impressive musicians in the room too.
This is so true. When you have a room that compliments your instuments, drums especially, it brings out the best in your creativity. Of course, hanging out with these legends would help with that too! 🥁
You’ve got to have good carpets as well as a good room ha ha love Jim keltner most people have been listening him for years and never realised he was in the engine room ,
The camera work demonstrates the need of the camera-man to be the star in this short video. Please just hold the camera steady for a second so the drummers watching this can look at the damn drums!
So many words about the cool sound, but nobody really hear the pure sound directly (without any stuff like headphones, monitoring room etc.). At least in this video. Selfcheating.
Holy cow, how good does Abe's kit sound. Absolutely immense!!
And that kit LOOKS amazing as well. ✌️
Young kids with little drums often tell me "Your drums sound *huge*" to which I always reply "it's not hard. You just need to start with huge drums.
That snare

Abe certainly has the best current Bonham feel and vibe - love the video!

@8:26 notice how Abe spots his right crash drooping, then corrects it with an upstroke? How fucking cool was that!?
Master musicians with big ears and generous hearts! Mother Nature coming alive through syncopation. ❤️🥁🎼
Wow. maybe the best drumming video I have watched
This video is not long enough 🤤
I would love to listen to the recording in audio format in hd quality 😻
Jim Keltner... the most underrated drummer ever, he played with every rock legend, ando he never get the credit.
You just gave it to him !
He always gets the credit. He’s highly rated. Everyone knows him and his work. Why do people say stuff like this? Because he isn’t John Bonham?
no. he is very very very well known

Effortless perfection. Can you dig it? Yes brother I surely can! Woo wee
Diggin’ this! Great sounds and great energy (not to mention the legends behind the grooves).

Those drums sound amazing, even through my phone speakers. Dream recording location.
Looks and sounds amazing.

The one and only Jim Keltner.

You can set your watch to Jim Keltner
no.//// the fact that his time moves is part of why he is so great!!
Bill Malina is a Genius.
Will the music made during this session be available for purchase?
Abe is such a bad ass drummer!
Abe's a powerhouse
"Those are some rock drums!"
What's the name of that suspended percussion instrument Jim's playing?
One day I’ll lay drums here!
wow🔥
This is great but I was really hoping to hear Keltner play a kit by himself, too
PAISTERS!
This is some hardcore drum nerd stuff.

Jim has my grandmother's hands, because my grandmother is his Aunt.
Impressive, although, let's face it, those two guys would sound great anywhere!
I think the guy with the glasses has a future in percussion
then after the recording is done..87% of the world will listen to it on 2$ earphones :o(
The Drum Doctor had to be around somewhere with these two cats….
Who hears Bonzo in Abe's playing? He would be awesome with Led Zeppelin!
I thought Keltner died 15 years ago?
The basis for a perfect album has been set up here. Just add nothing.

I didn't Like the sound...can be way better
Too much ring.
