I enjoyed this show, and he pretty much just came with what a superstar of his type should come with: a strong performance. He sang live, hit the notes (even if he sounded a little out of breath at some points), had complex choreographies with his dancers and also skated! My only criticism would be him not including DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love Again and Scream, but I totally understand why he'd do that, as his earlier songs are probably the most popular ones in America and the ones he loves to perform. Also, I don't understand the backlash he's been receiving (especially from non-United States viewers, calling it the worst half-time show in recent years). The man danced and sang his heart out, and I guess some of these international fans not knowing his discography and expecting a female diva on stage, were the reasons why they disliked it. Still, let me tell you this was VERY FAR from being a bad or boring half-time show. Good singing? You got that. Dancing? You got that. Hits? They were also there (the fact that some don't know them doesn't mean they aren't hits). Special effects and production? We saw that too. Pay some respect to Usher for real.

Give these artists grace they work so fucking hard so much pressure and they are getting old like we can't sit here behind a screen judging when we don't know the half of it
It’s hard to put 30 yrs of music into a 13 min halftime show. I think Usher did great, one of the best performances for me. In the beginning he did have a disclaimer saying his music might cause relationship issues.
I think we're being a little hard on Alicia. She has very strong vocals generally. She might've been sick. I think she did the smart thing by not reaching too high of a note that night. Why is no one talking about her dress train??
Usher DIDDDDD that. Idc what anyone says. He put his all into that. I love that you could hear the audience singing and Ludacris coming out was INSANEEEE.
Usher is a lengend but it was too much going on and it all felt rushed because he has so many hits. His entrance wasn't grand enough and he should've closed with a slow song like Without you.
I was one of those crybabies who complained as soon as he was announced last year. I was selfish and wanted a pop girlie, but I'm so glad I got over it and gave him the chance he deserves because I really enjoyed the performance! It was so fun, high energy, and was never a dull moment for me. You could tell he was happy to be there as well! As for Alicia, at least she was singing live. My problem is the people on social media down playing Alicia's talent and ability to sing all because of a voice crack. Had she lip synced, she would've been called out for that, She sings live, and she still gets backlash. She's human, and was probably nervous as hell. People will never be satisfied, and I hope she isn't beating herself up over that little moment. They all did great!
I think people have just become accustomed to seeing pre-recorded performances. This is probably the biggest difference of artist from yesteryear and today. However considering usher is in his mid-40s he did great to sing 100% live and dance at this level. When entertainers half his age aren't doing even 1/3 as much.
Usher was The most successful male Pop Star of the 2000s decade, had 10 #1 hits, Plus Confessions is still the most successful biggest selling album for a male artist of the 21st century globally. Usher was a major superstar in the 90s as well, selling millions upon millions and being the world's #1 male artist in 1998 and being awarded Billboard male artist of the year. Plus I'm glad he brought out legends from the 2000s like Alicia Keys and Ludacris who were mega successful that decade. Alicia Keys herself ranked #5 most successful artist of the 2000s decade. Usher built the modern day house of Pop music that The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Bieber, Timberlake, Chris Brown, Harry styles and BTS are living in rent free.
"Built"? He is a manufactured pop star. Can't be classified in the same category as Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, BTS, or The Weeknd who actually write their own music unlike Beyonce and Usher.
I’m glad that his mic was on and could still deliver amazing choreo, especially on skates. I loved they did the outro dance to Yeah! and was super hyped afterwards. Alicia Keys has never been a strong vocalist, so her voice cracking is pretty on brand.
My only take on this review.. is Bruh not even mentioning the rhythm section is a crime... plus they were performing live with a live band!! These type of production number is NOT EASY!! Kudos to the band. OP not mentioning them is crime😢
I loved his performance! Honestly one of my favorite in my lifetime. My only notes were that the opening song should have been different. I lovvved the outfits
I really enjoyed Usher's performance, it seems almost rare someone actually performs live at Super Bowl & he actually did (for the most part) which is not easy to do when you do a show for 13 min. straight. He did amazing
Usher was amazing and is amazing… He is one of the last TRUE entertainers that could do it all! Singing, dancing, roller skating… just amazing! It’s MJ and Prince levels of stage performance and no one these days who calls themselves an artist could do half of what Usher has done on stage or throughout his long career. He gave is a show for the Super Bowl and it’s not his fault as far as the pacing and how much he had to get in because he said during an interview.. he has to figure out how to get his music into about 13 minutes or so just to perform that night… so for people to say that it was the worse…can’t get up on that stage and do what he did…for the time he had..he used every minute and gave people probably a small taste of what his shows are like in Vegas. He did his thing and I was more than satisfied! 😂 As for Alicia Keys lol she’s probably a little rusty lol married & mom life took over… she’s not performing like she once did… she looked amazing tho
Lol, this reviewer is incredibly ludicrous 😂 it seems that no one can ever win: whether your voice cracks, you choose to sing live or completely mime. You won't be able to satisfy everyone, and even if you tried people will complain about nothing- I felt that Usher had an amazing set, and that's honestly all that we should focus on.
If only Alicia sounded as great as she looked! I agree that Usher should've cut his playlist down by just a few tracks so each song had enough time to get the audience into a groove. It felt like just when I was jammin to one of his songs BOOM he'd go right into the next one. If nothing else, the man is less than half a decade away from being 50. However, he stays in a great shape to the point where he can sing even when doing so much dancing and running around! He continues to stay relevant by reinventing himself rather than sitting on his catalog of old hits. 2024 is gonna be a big year for him!
Wow, I didn't know people would be so unforgiving over one voice crack, if it was throughout the performance I'd get it but man. Idk I think for the most part it can be out of your control if your voice cracks especially if your nervous and I don't expect singers to be robots that need to sound perfect every time. But I guess I'm out the loop on this one. I enjoyed Usher performance, that man still got it and so many hits I forgot about. It was a way better half time than last years.

Alicia still being punished for stealing that lady husband 😂
😂😂😂
Whaatttt???!!! I absolutely loved it
I didn't even notice Alicia cracked tbh
I have to agree with you 😊 I never noticed her voice cracking since I enjoyed every moment of that show. It was an awesome live show and so entertaining. Exactly the Usher I know! ❤❤❤
Usher's Super Bowl stage is still good compared to other notable headliners for the past 6 years.
Too many people were complaining because they expect for the Halftime show to just cater to what they want. Usher did a great job!
It was very Atlanta, I’ll say that. Should’ve been the show Atlanta got when they hosted it.
Right! This is what I expected when the Super Bowl was in the ATL.
@@littlerocker121314 yea instead my city got Maroon 5 🥴
@@reannagordonNobody in Atlanta wants the Patriots in the SB after they team choked 28-3😂
@@dimitrytimothee1590 yea all thanks to Kyle Shanahan, notice how he choked again in OT? Only twice has the super bowl gone in OT and both happend with Shanahan as the OC or the head coach. Anyways that Patriots/Rams super bowl had the most boring game plus halftime show too.
Voices crack...it happens
AMAZING, incredible, old school ! He’s a legend and paved the way for others so not to much on him
He did so good I wanted it to be longerrrrr, like he got so many bangers
This is knit picking tbh, that man sang live. That alone won me over, because others wouldve lip synced at the level of dancing he did. Bravo usher, eff the knit pickers❗
Usher had much more potential. It does feel rushed. But regardless, everyone had a good time.
I think we're being a little hard on Alicia. She has very strong vocals generally. She might've been sick. I think she did the smart thing by not reaching too high of a note that night. Why is no one talking about her dress train??
So many hits, all amazing vibes! I loved it 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Honest is never satisfied 😅 with anyone yall should know that by now
Usher DIDDDDD that. Idc what anyone says. He put his all into that. I love that you could hear the audience singing and Ludacris coming out was INSANEEEE.
I felt so bad for Alicia when that voice cracked , I’m glad she was able to pick it up at the end
I appreciate the clean descriptions of this video
He killed it! Legend
Usher is a lengend but it was too much going on and it all felt rushed because he has so many hits. His entrance wasn't grand enough and he should've closed with a slow song like Without you.
I LOVED the halftime show. Usher did an amazing job.
Usher ate that shittt up and left NO CRUMBS!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Why is no one talking about skating. Like hello??? Who else can do this !?
Usher is so iconic
I LOVED IT❤❤❤❤❤ HE DID AMAZING THEY ARE ALL SO TALENTED
🔥🥵He always kept his vibe tight and right Congrats on his wedding I will always be a fan😇✌🏾This has been so major 🪭🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🥵🔥🔥🔥🔥
The best halftime show I have seen in years.
I loved his performance! Honestly one of my favorite in my lifetime. My only notes were that the opening song should have been different. I lovvved the outfits
I loved it. Definitely in my Top 5. Usher performed so well for a 45 year old and out performed artists in their 20’s
I really enjoyed Usher's performance, it seems almost rare someone actually performs live at Super Bowl & he actually did (for the most part) which is not easy to do when you do a show for 13 min. straight. He did amazing
Usher did the damn thing, he’s so dope
😂 As for Alicia Keys lol she’s probably a little rusty lol married & mom life took over… she’s not performing like she once did… she looked amazing tho
he wasnt completely live it was half playback but still incredible stamina regardless
The half show as very enjoyable! I was having fun and bringing everything in!
It was amazing!
Ludachris fro was fro ing 🙌🏽🙌🏽🧢
I loved the show.
Lol Alicia forgot to practice 😅😂
Definitely not, she most likely got nervous on the day of the performance
He did phenomenal. Best Superbowl performance in years.
It was a way better half time than last years.
i really liked it, it was nostalgic
I wish R&B were as good as when Usher came out. Bring back that good music!!!
