Rossi entered the premier class in 2000. Here we are 18 years later and not only is he still relevant, he is a threat for the win or at least a podium on any given race day. He made some transitions that others couldn't; 2 stroke to 4 stroke, traction control, dragging knees to dragging elbows, etc. Most of his pesent day competitors had posters of Rossi on their bedroom walls. The documentary "Faster" was made in 2003. It's follow-up "Fastest" came out in 2011. Watching those 2 documentaries back to back, it's amazing how many racers came and went in those 9 years....except for one. Love or hate him, a true legend.

Rossi hasn't won the title for 9 years. He is lucky to win one race a year. Time to retire.

@Balam so you want him to retire when he is second in the championship race. That tells you a lot about the other racers ...

You're missing one of the funniest interviews in italian. Biaggi was angry as usual and he overtook Rossi after the finish line very fast and deliberately very close to him while Vale was celebrating riding sideways. Valentino commented - ' well he's used to doing bullshit like that, evidently he's pissed as fuck for behing behind every single sunday, bye!'

Great race but the win was decided with a few laps to go. The last lap duels are better than big group races because they go all the way. I don't think Welkom 2004 is the best race ever but people forget just how much of a miracle it was at the time and how incredible 2004 was from Rossi. Burgess said it was an equal effort to Spencer in '85, says it all.

even Max put some high respect to Valentino. No like Rossi's two competitors today, who has no respect at all to the legend. Yes, they are younger, stronger, faster, but to disrespect the living legend doesn't make them to be more respected. 2015 was the dark age of MotoGP season. People will always remember how those two young riders "cooperates" to knocked down the legend.

Quite impossible unfortunately, Marquez is as good as Rossi was in his prime.

I am abig Rossi fan but can't really agree
Yes of course Rossi is an artist and possibly (probably) the best the world has ever seen BUT he is too old now and doesn't ride as well as he used to and it is not due to his bike-it's hard to admit but the Marquez now is better than the Rossi now-but not the young Rossi
      That's just my opinion though

Sorry mate but Yamaha is no compare to Honda now. If Vale and Marc would have same bikes, The Doctor would destroy that kid.
