Guys you need to watch him playing a song called fever you'll see just how fantastic of a singer player and just an amazing entertainer he is 😎 one of the all time best in blues
Interesting fact, Buddy Guy was a dear friend of Stevie Ray Vaughan, and played with SRV on his last night alive, as did Eric Clapton, and Jimmie Vaughan, in Alpine Valley, Wisc. He was devastated by the loss.
Been watching Buddy for decades,he used to always play at the Kitchener Bluesfest,Blues Brews and BBQs.He’s always brilliant.Last time he toured here he had a great young guitarist named Quinn Sullivan playing with him.
Also his entire album Sweet Tea is a blues rock masterpiece that Hendrix or SRV would have approved of. If you want a sonic experience of Buddy in face melting magnificence, have at it! 🔉
Upset? Listen to Buddy Guy. Depressed? Listen to Buddy Guy. Angry list to Buddy Guy. I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. Almost nothing makes me happy anymore, but I put Buddy Guy on and I'm smiling so hard you would never guessed how shitty I'm always feeling lol The blues lifts people up when they're down. And Buddy is the best at it!
Buddy Guy doesn't fk around...ever. He will cut you up doesn't care about the venue. He is a BADMFER there are guitar players like Clapton who are terrified to play with Buddy because anyone on the stage will get ripped.
Buddy is awesome, saw him twice, he was mind blowing and had great openers in Debbie Davies then the incredible Eric Johnson. Both shows were amazing and all performers were great. For Buddy try Baby Please Don't Leave Me, his cover of Mustang Sally and his take on Voodoo Chile/Sunshine of Your Love. Classic stuff by one of the blues best. Enjoy! 🎸
I saw him 2 or 3 years ago at Rhythm and Roots in Bristol, TN, and at 80 years old he was destroying the stage. One of the all-time great masters of the instrument and of electric blues fire.
Hold on you two. If you really was some Blues. I got one for you. John lee Hooker. Song is called Boom Boom Boom. Yup that’s the name lol. Love your show keep up the great work. But really you have to check this song out
Never heard of Buddy Guy, come on now, you are musicians, and you are not young kids. sorry if that sounds harsh, i´m just surprised by it, and you are not alone in this, great that you are catching up, apart from your reactions, it may be a good idea to scroll back in time and find out what´s out there.....Peace.
🤠 One of the BIGGEST influences on Stevie Ray Vaughan! 👍🎸 Stevie worshipped this guy!
He and eric Clapton were supposed to meet up at Buddy's the evening he was killed.

That comment, "he may be singing about blues but he is so full of joy" - well, it is not often something gets so honestly and accurately pinpointed.
I got to see him in a little club in Atlanta back in the 70's. Awesome

Let me explain he mentored Jimi Hendrix srv johnny Lang ect one of the greats
Buddy in his turn was mentored by Muddy Waters,

The story is that Jimi Hendrix wanted a Stratocaster because Buddy Guy played one. Not sure if that’s true or not 🤷🏻♂️
