I wish Rep. Gonzalez would elaborate on his discussion about the terrorists that have come across the border. I want to know what we are facing...😢

Sounds like a good candidate to work within the administration on immigration issues

@edalvarez9920: Well, you're right, he would be a good person to work on the border crisis.... You don't really think the incompetent Biden administration would really want to work with a Republican who actually has solutions to the crisis at the border do you? It's very sad but they wouldn't. 😢

Very impressive man in speech and actions...... I wish him success because he appears to
value "Common" sense above political motivation. Good luck!!!!

Something I didn’t know still existed: a real Republican who wants to get things done on eg immigration. And of course: the GOP has condemned him & is now primarying him.

Was going to comment almost the same thing. Why is this Republican speaking on this topic so well and with such wisdom and the rest of them are so terrible on this topic?

@@evarlast because he’s actually on the border & wants to fix things.

@dphuntsman. From what I understand, they are primarying him for OTHER reasons, not his views on the border. I personally don't agree with the other reasons to try to destroy him. 😮

      @@laurelh1799 You’re partially right:
‘In each of their announcements, the potential candidates criticized Gonzales as not conservative enough, piggybacking on the Texas GOP’s assertion that Gonzales lacks “fidelity to Republican principles and priorities.”
The party’s executive committee decisively voted on Saturday to censure Gonzales, refusing to fund or otherwise support him during next year’s primary. Members took issue with his votes to protect same-sex marriage and bolster existing gun laws, as well as his opposition to a border security bill that Gonzales characterized as "anti-immigration."
Gonzales was also the only Republican to vote "no" on a House rules package proposed under the new GOP majority in Washington. He had raised concerns about potential cuts to the country’s defense budget.
The San Antonio congressman dismissed the party’s censure as garbage, and his campaign said the Texas GOP should follow Gonzales’ lead and “do some actual work.”
Gonzales has said he does not regret the votes that got him censured, especially not the firearms measure. His district includes Uvalde, where a gunman killed 19 children and two teachers at an elementary school last year.’
