Hi guys, lip sinking or not, does it matter, the man has done the business (liverpool slang). !What a show, what a man, look I wish I could have been there. Thank you for a faboulous video, really appreciated this from Liverpool UK.
When we speak of American treasures, this guy and the four seasons are in the conversation. Bob Guadio was the genius behind the music, but Frankie made the songs dance. This music will never get old even though we all do. May God bless Frankie Valli
A Jersey guy, I caught the 4 Seasons in a mega concert in LA 50 years ago, and I felt a little sad for them as they took the stage following a number of younger groups. Then they blew the doors off everyone. Then I felt great!
I know how close you are with Z. In 2009, I saw Jersey Boys. It was a surprise. In 2010, I returned the favor. My Father explained Bob Gaudio to me that evening.
IN 2009, my dad mentioned he wanted to go see a play called Jersey Boys. It was then I put it together, I'd been listening to this music my entire life.
Wow ,,,Frankie sounds great. Facebook pages are saying that he is lip singing and sounds awful . I think those are scammers ...I saw him and the original band in the 1960’s and I stepped on his foot while chatting with him ....He is one of a kind ....I hope to go to Vegas to see him again.
There is certainly assistance. It's incredible. They have done it for years. I don't agree with it all of the time, but There are moments of clarity. Has anyone watched American Bandstand? Or even Coldplay? Ed Sullivan? The Super Bowl? Everything is assisted these days. It's annoying to me that people would pay more money for a wedding DJ than to see an artist that performed and probably had a hand in their own original works. It's the same thing if you want to complain about that from a 90 year old.- that EARNED their credibility. Accept it and enjoy the music. When these guys are gone, we won't have that awesome horn section or the enjoyment of seeing them continue their legacy. It's a live DJ. plain and simple and I mean that with sincerity. Let's Hang On To What We Got! I'll be the first to sing Sherry in the front row. And I hope we can all sing along together. Oh, and Robby Robinson needs an honorable mention here. One hell of a keyboard player and director.
I just saw him & it was a great show! The band was stellar, the dancers & singers great. I’d rather Frankie there than an impersonator. What a privilege to see him there. He is entertaining, & engages w the audience. They wouldn’t be happy to see this on RUclips but I am happy to relive the evening. One of the best shows I have seen. So much fun. Standing ovation for several songs at the end . Well deserved. 👏👏. Thank you Frankie! I highly recommend!
I'm sure back in the he was quite the performer but those days have clearly been gone for a long time. He's clearly lip syncing and not even moving his mouth at the right time. Before some of you say. "He's not lip syncing." He's not? Then why does he still sound like a young man when he sings? That's impossible. The human voice changes over time.
He has been lipping for many years ripping off people, he's like a dead corpse on stage propped up to make people money, his people are disgusting making him do this just elder abuse at this point, he's 90 get a lawyer to sue your handlers.
Frankie is 89. When speaking between songs, sometimes he can barely catch a breath, and his voice seems weaker, which means he cannot sustain long passages or notes. So yes, he does occasionally lip-sync, not always, and probably not always through an entire song, because there are definitely lower register phrases he does sing. On other songs many times his upper notes are digitally corrected by autotune software, of which many programs are now available. One merely needs to watch him on ballads, such as “Silence is Golden, through most of it. At 16:15, the shape of his “well” is shorter than the recording and doesn’t match; on Opus 17, which is difficult to sing in its entirety anyway, at 28:28 he misses an entrance where his mike was down and he was supposed to be singing. On “Swearin’ To God” it is obvious he is actually singing and performing it (and enjoying himself) but they do use autotune on “Began “ and “I do.” Same with Our Day Will Come, 46:14 , a solo piece. Quite frankly, this goes on a lot in the concert industry , there is no way modern performers can dance up a storm and still have a great vocal outcome. As long as you know this goes on going in, great, you are seeing a great show, great band, and great backup singers with a legend and icon and his legendary hits. One of the best parts of the show in my opinion, is the warmth he shows to his fans, especially shaking hands at the end. Reminds me of days gone by of the ‘60s when we showed kindness and were bound together by love for each other.
I AGREE. There is certainly assistance. It's incredible. They have done it for years. I don't agree with it all of the time, but There are moments of clarity. Has anyone watched American Bandstand? He can hardly talk and seems breathless and congested on the spoken parts, so there's no way that would disappear while singing. IMHO he's lip syncing and it's not just occasional touches of live autotune...
Still being above ground at age 89 is a feat in itself. People a lot younger than him are sitting in wheelchairs in nursing homes dribbling and being fed through a straw. What he's doing is amazing.
One of my most favorite groups of all time but no he is definitely not singing here. The band and the chorus is actually performing while they use Frankie's vocals from past recordings. The man is 89 years old. If you look closely at his lips, they don't keep up then he talks to the audience and you can tell the difference. No effort or sign of strain when he appears to sing. It still great to see this legend live and on stage.
Hi, I am John , a formal lead Trumpet player for Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons and I would like to "Correct" anyone who thinks that Frankie Valli is "lip-synching." The "delay" that you are seeing is because the person was recording the show on an iPhone was about 50ft. away from the stage, so you will see a "slight delay" from the movement of his lips singing the notes to the actual sound which will reach the device a "split second later." (sound travels at slower speed than light) If you look closely you will see that it is consistent throughout the entire show, his mouth will move a split second prior to you hearing the actual note. Now if it was professionally recorded, they would sync the voice to the music because they would be on two different tracks . Thanks for listening, John Stefan like to "Correct" anybody who thinks that Frankie Valli is lip-synching in this live performance. There were slight variations in his phrasing that demonstrate he IS singing the songs. Also when he talks to the audience the mic volume varies little. He is doing this!
