Clint Mansell has found a way to touch the hearts of the people that listen to his music. The song is from the movie, "The Fountain" which, if you have not seen it, I highly reccomend. The song gives off a feeling of sadness when you listen to it, and yet the beauty of the music flows through your mind and your heart. Truly touching and inspirational music to everyone. This is real music. This is real art. This is real passion.
Clint Mansell is living proof that classical music will never die. As a man who prefers rock music, I am openly admitting that no music style will ever touch classical music. Simply a masterpiece.
I luv this movie...I could say is for me and my son. We use to see this movie together all the time. He passed away this year and he was 3yrs old but he was the smartest kid ever. He luv the piano and he told me that this song was for me. RIP Travis. TOGETHER WE WILL LIVE FOREVER.
wow havent listened to this in years, last time i did i was laying on a couch dreaming of how 3 years would be and now i am here. life goes by so fast. my newborn niece certainly did find this soothing.
I was listening to this quite loud in my living room a moment ago...my 7yr old son came in and just stood still watching with me..at the end he said "the piano was saying ..dont forget me". ..a nice moment :)
This makes me sad but also peaceful at the same time, words can't really express all the feelings the human heart can feel, but music can. All you have to do is close your eyes and listen to it.. I think this should be a compulsary study in schools, there isn't many people who can produce such a quality. Respect for all brothers and sisters out there. Peace!
It makes me think of that one special person that you holded once in your life, and you just assumed it was a dream, and for the short time you were with her, it felt like it was, and you cry everyday cause you miss her so much and knowing you might very get to see her again, and with that, never get to hold her again.
Imagine life without music like this anymore...just the rap and pop. it would never be the same. this is the music that inspires you and makes you think about unthinkable things. just think what the world would be like. my opinoin is that the world would have people who never sticked up for themselves, never follow there dreams huh never even try beautiful music like this is slowly disappearing. i do like pop and stuff but that music doesn't touch your heart like the others do.
I agree. Many people don't understand the feeling behind this kind of music. And sometimes its hard to describe it to them if they don't. Clint Mansell is a great musician and composer
Possibly one of the best piano pieces ever written. To me this song summarizes the idea behind the movie. It speaks of peace, of acceptance of the inevitable. And of hope that those who remain will find the strength to move on.
One of the most beautiful pieces of music I have heard in a very long time. It inspired me to write a song about somebody I love very deeply, using this music as the base. Clint Mansell, the greatest of respect to you, for you are a genius.
his music is just so unique. it makes you feel things you have never felt before. it gives me so many feelings at once i dont know what to think when im listening to his work. absolutely captivating. No one will be able to copy his work with the same emotional power he brings out
Saw the movie today... Love is letting go.. in another way, love is to remember. Not to forget. But remembering means to feel the pain all the time. Don't forget me... I'll never forget you... still this song is representing all this questions I have. Where are you? Do you feel pain? Do you remember me? Do you want to? ... were you scared? & still it hurts to know - I'll never get an answer.
God. the first time i heard this song. i never would have believed that song could be this beautiful. but clint mansell does it yet again. my favorite composer btw
the most beautiful, most captivating, and most emotionally moving song i've ever heard. for a song to make you feel so many ways in which you can't even begin to explain is truly a miracle. i love this song to death and i hope many other people feel the same way..
i never knew that music without words could be so.................. omg this guy is genuis... THIS is music THIS is geniuUS NOT the bullcrap we listen to today. like 50 cent and all the other posers.. who dnt even think about what they are singing about THIS is why i love music. :)
This song takes on a new meaning to me now that she slipped through my hands. I used to find this song very romantic. Now it makes me feel sad deep inside.
i didnt read all the comments, but there is ppl who actually dislike this music? if its yes, then they r fool young kids...i listen to heavy/death metal, but when i find a nice music i admit it, this is called growin up...this music is heavenly...bow
I would like to thank you for uploading this song-music. Because when i found it, it brought me a measure of peace back then. And still does. So for that rare thing you have my heartfelt gratitude.
This song is immense! There just isn't a word that does it justice... It says so much in the 5 words that are the title and, although the song is quite subtly dramatic and saddening, the melodic line carries you through. I owe a lot to this song, and Clint Mansell in general, definitely listen to Death Is The Road To Awe if you haven't already!
It seems alot of metal lovers also like classical music and the like. I wonder why... Maybe we just have the best tastes in music, eh? Anyhow, a wonderful piece of musik this is. It is soothing, when you are angered, it is calming, when you are mad, it is sad, when you are sad. I almost brought a tear to my I.
@DandyDubber really magical :) i used to cry over this song when me and my boyfriend broke up years ago. somehow it represented everything that i wanted to tell him. after reading your post... maybe it was 'don't forget me' :) it worked. its an outstanding song. and amazing how your son can comprehend what most of us would never at first sight
this song got me to actualy get my piano back out just so i could start to play again, even though my love of music is not nearly as deep as this song it was the first song i truely learned by heart.
This is one of my favorite pieces of music ever. Instrumental pieces can be interpreted differently by anyone, personally i feel hurt when i listen to this, there's this deep sadness to it, like a deep loss. But i love it lol.
Y pensar que empeze a buscar la musica de clint mansell por una publicidad. Y ahora me gusto tanto que estoy consigiendo toda su musica y las peliculas donde aparecen. Es maravilloso
@DandyDubber Thats a beautiful story, thanks for sharing. I think children are more connected to the source than we are, and can interperate things in ways we cant as adults. The sadness in such beauty is when we ask the question WHY. All the best to you and your son. Peace bro.
When I listen to Clint Mansell's sound tracks... I feel like they are too powerful, and will overshadow the film they are in. But then I see the film, and the music is just so perfect... How does he do it? This one, Lux Aeterna, and (sorry this one's not Clint or from a movie) The song High Hopes by Pink Floyd are the most brilliant pieces of music I have ever heard
Fully agreed. Today at school a kid took my earphone while I was listening to this and said 'what is this shit? It sucks!" This "shit" is music. Real music.
the video perfectly illustrates the eternal emptiness one experiences after the death of a very dear and very close person in one's life. Part of you will always be walking back and forth, day in day out, each day, no matter what notes are played in life around you, you are forever trapped in that feeling, trying to survive yet now and then, you crack up, you kneel, and you accept.. you accept the pain, there is no other choice.
Listening this music.... I remembered all those good things I lived with him... My dearest Emilio =( PD: he is far away from me, almost 150 milles, I can't see him per the distance, and also, I can't talk with him, because in the place where he stay, dont allow him have cellphones, or those things... RAZON: He's Gay... He wants change.... and I will support him... this is hard to me... but I will. *tears*
@punkdood35 i honestly and completely agree with you. this paints so many different pictures in your head and keeps changing your emotions throughout, one point you're at peace, one point you're sad, one point you're happy, rinse and repeat. there's no other way to describe this song other than absolute beauty.
The movement of your fingers between 3.21 and 3.22... This is seems to be all I "kept" from this video. And I felt this "desire" again... the one I mentionned before... La Fontaine coule, et nous passons...
Great Song, and like Nkonito said, even for a Metal, Rock and Techno-Freak, this song is wonderfull. Does anyone know more songs like this? I mean such harmonic songs without singing? Plz answer my comment or send me a PM.
Thats true, but that only mean that you gave up already, cause it is really only a one time thing. True love i mean, only one, only true, and someone better....that my friend is impossible in my eyes, and I know one day I will have my love back ^_^, the world is a circle every turns into place eventually ^_^
@punkdood35 WOW that is an incredible & brilliant comment!!! By reading that & listening to this work of art brought tear's to my eye's .... to that, i say thank you.

Dieses Lied passt sowohl für den Liebenden um zu träumen, als auch für den Trauernden um zu vergessen. Genialste Musik die ich je gehört habe !
this makes my heart break and builds me up at the same time. i cannot believe i haven't heard of this composer until now. this is lovely..

it's a serene place that people don't take the time to appreciate these days.....

Possibly one of the best piano pieces ever written.
