Fly Fishing for Goose Lake Redband Trout (California Heritage Trout Challenge)

How do you catch a wee little fish up in the way far off part of the state? This is how! As always, I fail publicly to encourage you to fail privately, while giving out information I hope will help you succeed.
This documents my experience chasing Goose Lake Redband Trout one of the fish that counts towards California's Heritage Trout Challenge. This dispels the myth that just because you know where to go the fishing will be easy. It is my sincere hope that people do the challenge and explore the state and learn about these wonderful creatures. It's good for the soul, in my view, and good for the environment to have people feel passionately about it. So please enjoy and if you are working on the Challenge, good luck! I am making plans to go after this as well. I am more of a backpacker learning to fish. Got the lahontan cutthroat so far from the headwaters of the Truckee. Also planning a 5 day backpacking trip next year to go after the little kern golden, the kern rainbow, and the California Golden.
