A small detail that i really appreciate is that even when the batter takes a pitch they still rotate their hips slightly. It looks so much more fluid than in The Show when they just step and stand still unless you actually hit the swing button.
I wonder why Konami doesn't make an MLB equivalent to rival the show? 2ksports baseball game doesn't exist anymore and I would think that exclusive deal they signed where outside of themselves only first party devs to could make a MLB game would be expired.
@krishtere It is a PS5 game, and they make it more attractive with the pro enhancement. I was thinking about getting a digital version, but it needed a credit card that is registered to an address in Japan. A gift card would do too, but it wouldn't be an even transaction and I don't like to leave balances behind. My understanding is that you will need to use a Japanese account to get this game's full benefit, such as redeeming legendary players with points earned in the game - it's always been like this. I have been playing the Spirits and the Jikkyou series since their debut. 😊
Thankfully the in-game Shop stuff where you buy former players doesn't require playing on a Japanese account. There is DLC for things like accurate ouendan chants, which has to be purchased on the JP account but can be played on another region account if they're living on the same console.
konami bites the bullet and pays for the licensing to have MLB teams, use this exact interface and gameplay scheme? and release a proper american baseball version of this? I'd say they could compete with The Show
I got into the series a year ago playing the last one on ps4 and I didnt know that this came out already. Gonna get a ps5 just to play this 😂. Is the physical release region locked or is it like ps4?
Right, no throw meter in the field. It means fielder arm attributes are a little more important theoretically, but it is a criticism of the series that the defense rarely makes mistakes. Not a game where you want to be an aggressive baserunner, generally.
This game makes SDS look so silly wow the graphics in the this game the dirt how smooth the gameplay is it’s insane SDS should be embarrassed…. Can only imagine the franchise mode in this game sheshhhhh
I'm starting to work on something here: 30-30.club/pro-yakyuu-spirits-2024-2025-menu-translation-guide/ Some helpful links at the bottom if nothing else.
You can order a physical copy from Amazon.co.jp or an importer site like Buyee. Or you can create a Japanese PlayStation account (not too hard if you Google how) then buy PSN yen cards (from somewhere like Play Asia) and apply them to the account to buy the game digitally.
In star player, can you add custom team or replace team with custom team like 2024/2025my life? Or it like all pawapuro where it only work like custom roster? Can you add custom player to the draft class in pennant race and star player like in pawapuro? Btw i saw the credit video and konami really have the same devs working on both pawapuro and prospi lol. They really need to increase pennant & my life team. Having multiple devs working on the same game is probably the season both games were released very late this year😢
Wow I meant to compare the credits and check that out. Pretty crazy to have the same overall team for both in the same year. Yes, you can use custom teams and players in the Star Player and Pennant mode, if I understand the question. It makes it a little more confusing since the "official" English translation of some of the modes changes otherwise totally understandable mode names, like MyLife -> Star Player and Pennant -> Season, haha.
I think the primary thing is the graphics: this game is targeted only for PS5 and PC, where The Show still releases on the previous generation of consoles and Switch. Spirits is also a bit easier to pick up and play IMO besides the language barrier. Aiming your bat for an icon in the zone is a simpler hitting method to learn than The Show, which (more realistically) has you track the actual ball as it comes toward the plate. Spirits also has interesting single player modes: manage a high school team, or control a single player through their career with some fun life sim elements. But these do have a language barrier.
@30-30Club thank you for the detailed response. The modes sound pretty fun, so I think I'm in... I'm a noob so less complicated hitting I have no problems with😃 usually I don't care about graphics but this is a really nice looking game
I went a little overboard and preordered physical and digital versions. Physical one should come with the Ohtani sleeve I think, but it’s still in the mail for a few more days.

Stop the cap, every Japanese person will tell you MLB the Show is a better game.
This makes the show look like a arcade game
Fact
Stop capping bro
The Show has been the same game (gameplay and graphics wise) for a decade and a half. This looks better by a mile
this game is on the ps5 pro enhanced list. nice, although a Japanese account is needed.
awaiting mine from Play Asia.
I saw that in the Japanese PSN store. Im guessing PS5 (not the Pro) users can also play it?

Yeah physical is region free, just like PS4
@30-30Club thank you for the information.
there's no throw meter for fielders? every ball that you get to is automatically an out?
Right, no throw meter in the field. It means fielder arm attributes are a little more important theoretically, but it is a criticism of the series that the defense rarely makes mistakes. Not a game where you want to be an aggressive baserunner, generally.
hey, whats the song that is playing in the begining of the video before the start of the match ?
That’s the game’s theme song, called WINNER. Written by Konami, and the vocalist is somebody named DENZEL.
Written by Yutaro Yonesu at Konami, to be more specific

Props to the Japanese company that made this game it looks amazing. Too bad I don’t speak Japanese so I will stick to MLBtheshow 😂
It's made by Konami
It's Konami the same company that makes pro evolution soccer
Is there any way to buy this digitally outside of Japan?
Yes, easier on PS5 than on Steam but possible for either. This guide helps: prospitranslation.wixsite.com/2024/buy

Is this a big leap since the 2019 game?
In terms of graphical fidelity, yes. The gameplay and a lot of the animations are very similar though.

How to find a game on Nintendo Switch?
This specific game is not available for the Switch I'm afraid. The 2021 release is, though it's only available as a physical copy now.
@ Thanks for the reply. I hope Japanese baseball will appear in the Nintendo Shop later.
