Good technique and looks quite easy. But still, I would change the approach a little: I would sit in that chair and watch how two assistants throw the chain from the winch. They even fit better in terms of height and would learn mechanics better.
a stump small like that...just dig around it...chop off the root system...(tap root wont be a big problem cuz its a small tree)....then u can push the tree tell it falls....so u dont even need to chop it dwn cuz u need to push on the tree once the entire root system is freed up from the tree itself...
