Have you ever been in a season where it feels like the waiting will never end? Maybe you’ve prayed the same prayer for years, longing for something to change, only to be met with silence. Mary, the mother of Jesus, had a cousin, Elizabeth, who was married to Zechariah, and she knew exactly what that was like. They had hoped and prayed for a child, holding onto their faith even as the years passed and their dream seemed impossible.
And then, when it seemed far too late, God showed up. In the most unexpected way, He answered their prayers and gave them not only a child but a son who would prepare the way for the Savior of the world.
