I think the middle point method with the compass allow you to draw a perfect perpendicular line at the center of the desired segments (C - G here). It doesn'T matter what's your circle radius as you keep it the same to draw your marks. try it.

That’s not an ellipse!!😨😰 that’s an oval😅 so it is the other video. An oval is a set of symmetric arcs, tangent to each other, that look like an ellipse. But ovals are made of portions of circles. An ellipse is a curve with two foci and not one center…😅🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
