I'm interested in budgeting more like cashflow. Column 1 row 1 has bank balance, then income below it, then fixed expenses, then variable, then the net which is carried to the top of the next column and month to start over again. Monthly the budgets by category move, like say the water bill is 2x in the summer months, so each month you can move the budget around and see how the whole year's cashflow works. This in turn allows you to look at how you are managing debt and ultimately leftover funds for savings purposes. Have you seen any cashflow type budgeting like this in any of the apps?
Very helpful video! I use the free version of Every Dollar and like it. It’s super easy to use. I also have and like (especially because I enjoy working with spreadsheets too) your Google Sheets budgeting ‘app’. I plan on using yours more in 2025 😊
Which app would have bill tracking due dates . I tried empower but that seems only available in the desktop interface and not on the mobile app. I moving from mint so preferred free option but that may be limited.
I’m still not over the loss of mint! Which one do you think has an interface most like mint? I like monarch except for the budget page, and quicken except for the transaction page 🤦♀️
The struggle is real! I feel like there isn't one just like mint. Most people I work with tend to end up with Monarch from Mint, but definitely not all. I've also had a few go with Simplifi or Pocketguard. It's hard because not one app has everything you want. And most of them cost money. I've got my cheat sheet here if you want help comparing the apps: www.brittanyflammer.com/f/budgeting-app-cheat-sheet
@@BrittanyFlammer Thank you so much. I miss Mint like it was a person, lol. Monarch does seem like the best option so far. I will check out your cheat sheet, thanks again!
#2 is what I use. A google sheet. :D. Kind of ironic that I test out all of these apps, but stick with a spreadsheet. Most clients I work with prefer an app so that's why I test them out.
I love their book, budgeting mindset, and recommend the app for some clients, but it just doesn't work for me. I'm so glad you like it. Thanks for sharing!

I installed monarch money and linked all my accounts, I still need to dive into the web version to see all of the features. Great video, thank you.
I hope you like it. Here's a tutorial on my recommendations for getting started: ruclips.net/video/RUekZM72kvc/видео.htmlsi=cd27_UP_MXwv2BHf

Glad it was helpful!
I love copliot's ui and thankfully I have an ipad which was updated to native and I mainly use Ynab, the ui make me want to switch, great video!
I'm happy to hear your experience. Thanks for sharing!!

@@ashleychason6823 Let me know what you end up going with!
I watched the video but did I miss Origin?
@@mebaysinger I was curious about that, too. Would love to see a review!
But whats the best budgeting platform if i want to budget by paycheck.
GoodBudget
I'm in the same boat I wish I could find something that told me how much to set aside each paycheck to meet bills by their due date
Yes - like someone mentioned GoodBudget lets you choose your pay period.
YNAB is also focused on spending the money already in your account.
Ditto. GoodBudget is the best for that. YNAB also could work.
GoodBudget is probably the best for paycheck to paycheck that isn't monthly.

@ in your opinion do you like monarch or co pilot better
YNAB All day
