So much value... I went from nearly 95-100 locs to cutting and restarting with 22 locs total... They are super thick and I found myself not being able to think of any styles. This was helpful even in watching you retwist. I appreciate the content and ideas. Thick locs rock.

Beautiful locs. I’ve had several sets and this time I will be getting thick locs. Just combined my daughter micro locs from 192 to 33 and I’ll probably have the same or less cause I have shaved sides. Loving your thickness ❤

Man my locs are thick I have 53 but you make me want to combine I love them!! It’s just mine take so long to dry now even with the blow dryer so I can only imagine. If I lived in Florida or the Islands where I could let them airdry year around I would. Thick locs are everything 😍😍😍
Now you are right A87, thick locs ARE everything. I considered between 55 and 58 at first because I fell in love with a colleagues so I know yours are gorgeous! Mine don't take long at all to dry but it does have a lot to do with the climate. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment

@@itscolleensade4672 Thank you! Lol, that was 8 years ago! I had to freeform under a wig, for 7 months just to get them to stay in. I remember getting dressed and thought I looked more beautiful w/o the wig and took the pic!

I have medium box braids in my hair. I wanna restart my loc journey. So then I'll have around 34 locs, before I combed my other set I had almost 80
I just started my locs from a short afro, I counted 34 locs. I hope they turn out good.

@@itscolleensade4672 I have a question. So my hair is literally a short afro with the locs. Do you think me wrapping them (durag, headwrap) up often will mess with the forming of the thickness?
@@Shanaya.Ahyashah That's a great question. I don't think it will impact the thickness but if you're wrapping them too tightly they may form a bit more flat then round so keep that in mind. Just enough to keep them together but not enough to flatten them unless you aren't concerned with the shape. Most of mine are more flat than round by the way. You can also use a satin bonnet.

I'm new to your channel so forgive the question if you've already addressed it. Have you tried steaming your locs to add moisture and "bendability"?

I have not tried steaming them but that has been something I've considered going to a salon for. If so, it'll be my first time letting anyone do my locs and I'll video the process and results!!!!!!
First off your locs are gorgeous💕 How often do you retwist? I’m trying to stretch to 3 months. I’m on a journey to thick locs as well. Almost 2 months in☺️
Congratulations on your journey and thank you for your compliment!!! Early on I twisted them every wash but once my hair stopped unraveling, I'd twist less. Now, about every three to four months.

itsColleenSade I just took down a set of starter locs that I’d had for about a month. I had about 39 I think but they weren’t as big as I wanted. So I’m going for about 25 this time around🙂
How many times would you say you use conditioner? I’ve been thinking about it because my hair doesn’t stay moisturized at all. I’ve just heard so many negative things about it but at the same time, that was the only thing that worked for my loose natural hair.
@@MJ-oz8wo I'd say about every three to four washes. Rinse it really well and it works. My hair is corse and thick so these locs are not unraveling or going anywhere. 😁 I was also hesitant but you have to try things to learn what'll work for your locs.

I had 34 locs in my first set they we're beautiful and thick but then I went through bad mental health and shaved my head bald 🤦🏾♀️..... I ready to put locs back in my head and this time I decided in want between 50 and 65

Are the thicker locs.. Heavy? Im just curious.. Because when i do a top bun with my thinner locs it sometimes give me a headache... Your locs are GORGEOUS BTW..
Hey Mrz O, mine are not heavy at all at this point. When they are wet they have a little weight. Not sure how that will change as they get longer.
