nah zalbag is way worst. he could had easily prevented deilta sister death if he had at least made effort. if they never treated commoners not good. milleuda folles wouldnt hate nobles so much and she wouldnt had her death. also zalbag isnt much better
@@ladyriethegoldendelmo5441 No, Zalbag made the right call with Tietra (Delita's sister). It was a bad situation but the right move was to take away the leverage (Read: the hostage) so the enemy would surrender or just straight-up taken out afterward. It was a field call and I completely understand why he did it. If you're an adult, so should you..... not every situation can have a happy end where everyone goes home.

The 'extra dialogue' from the battles made this game amazing, even if you could defeat your opponent quickly, you didn't want to so you could hear the extra dialogue. This gets even better as the Templar Knights come into the picture later and the intrigue of the people pulling the strings in the Lion War.
Yeah same its really cool to see this kind of stuff even after playing through the game multiple times. Give way more life into these characters
The amount of content you make for tactics is insane… you make me analyze things about the game I never realized.. and I beat the game over 100 times literally

I Love how easily Zalbag talks about "Justice" when he allowed innocent Tietra to die by Algus. Delulu is strong here... 😴😪
Thats an interesting one. There is a lot to interpret and the writing can be weird.
Earlier we see Zalbaag hanging with Tietra and it seems fine and then Dycedarg said he considers Tietra to be a sister to him.
They also seem to dislike Argath and then they make him an officer?
That part was just weird

That whole part story wise just doesn't make that much sense to be fair. They gave Algus/Argath command of Knights.
And Zalbaag was hanging out with Tietra earlier in the game.
The orders seem more like something Dycedarg would do and Zalbaag follows it

Unpopular opinion, I like Dycedarg and I kind of agree with him. I mean as far the nobles in the game goes outside of Cid he is probably the best choice to rule Ivalice in place of the royal family who let's be honest are awful at least the Queen is.
Duke Larg is dependent on Dycedarg all Dycedarg did was cut him out of the equation and Goltana is a fool who trusted an upstart rather than heeding his most trusted general at the cost of his life.
Dycedarg did all the politicing for the family so he has first hand experience with the nobility and their nonsense. Zalbaag likes to think he is better but if you aren't family you are fodder to him. And Ramza is naive and he knows it partially why he became a mercenary.
The only really awful thing Dycedarg did was poison his father who might not have been as good a person as we think. After all while Dycedarg and Zalbaag are full blooded brothers Ramza and Alma are only his and Zalbaag's half-siblings and it was loosely implied it was an affair with a commoner that lead to their birth. An affair usually implies the wife, Dycedarg's mother in this case, was still alive at the time which very well could have been what lead to her death.
Keep in mind Dycedarg is quite a bit older than even Zalbaag so he probably saw it all go down from start to finish. So he could have more motivation for killing his father than just wanting power. After all he does keep his promise to his father in stepping aside to allow Zalbaag to lead their order of knights, gives Ramza and Alma a comfortable life from what we see, and not once does he directly target Ramza up until this breaking point in the game where Zalbaag and Ramza are trying to kill him at which point he must defend himself. Yes, he does get possessed meaning he does have darkness in his heart but once possessed they aren't the same person anymore. I mean just look at Wiegraf and his change.
He talks about ruling over the weak and common people but without a leader society crumbles, anarchy becomes rampant, and the world falls apart cause humans are animals and just the worst unless reigned in. So yeah I can see why he'd believe is doing the right thing. He's no worse than Delita who ended up hailed as a hero. It just we are meant to not like Dycedarg so we only see his bad side.
He could have been a good ruler who knows exactly on that.
While there aren't enough scenes of Larg I could have an analysis and some theories on why he wasn't that entirely bad of a guy.
Goltanna was an idiot as Agrias says lol. But yeah Dycedarg would have been a better rule than Goltanna for sure.
Zalbaag could have been a good ruler who knows how it plays out. By this time Ramza isn't naive anymore and he gets it.
Those are some details that are left out for sure so its fun to theorize and think of things. As I don't like or respect people who cheat on their wives or girlfriends rather. Unless this was his second marriage.
And yeah good points. Dycedarg could have been way better than Delita for sure lol. Delita is a POS too lol he pretty much talks down on Ramza who sacrificed and gave up everything for him as well

Dycedarg would have been a better king than Goltana or Larg at least. Most of what he says here is objectively true..... it's just, he takes it too far and kills Balbanes (His father) & Zalbag (His brother). Also I don't buy that Dycedarg would have knights that would side with him over Zalbag, nor that he could put up the slightest fight against Zalbag by himself. Zalbag is a very skilled & powerful warrior as well as a known war hero; *THE* field commander of the hokuten knights. Those knights would have sided with Zalbag 100%.
Larg I'm not so sure. There just aren't enough details about him lol.
But Dycedarg could have been a great ruler though who knows how it would have turned out.
And yeah Zalbaag is a great warrior the guy's name is "The Savior of Ivalice" for crying out loud lol. Arguably even more well known than Orlandeau for his combat.
And yeah the Knights with Dycedarg make no sense unless this was like his personal guard or they just assumed Zalbaag was in the wrong based on what they saw idk lol
not to mention revive his dead brother as a zombie and uses him to try to kill his other brother

I mean look at Delita. The dude lied and used everybody and apparently turned out to be a good one
While his logic is awful, it makes much sense for the psychology of a villain. Taking notes of this to write my own characters, thanks for the love of this masterpiece of a game 🙏
