My mom died when I was four and it was really hard on me I always wanted to be like her. My grandma would tell me stories about her but the one that I always liked was how she had very hard hearing And she would you sign language to talk to deaf people and I always wanted to learn and see ever since I started watching your videos it’s helped me so much so thank you you’re very much appreciated😊❤️

I have been watching your stuff lately and find it useful since my laryngitis this summer. By the way, that boy’s idea for a costume is excellent. _Moana_ is underrated.
My grandson is almost 3, has Duchesne Muscular dystrophy and barely speaks. He goes to speech therapy twice a week but I also started teaching him ASL as much as I can. I am learning myself, so we enjoy watching your videos and learning together. ASL had become our own "special/secret language" and he has started teaching his 4yo sister some things too! A bonding experience for us both!
this is fun Meredith and including your son made it so much more fun. do you have every last holiday and all in videos? i appreciate you signing in .. since I'm still learning, idk if I say deaf grammar or context... but I appreciate you doing that. most doesn't do that, and then come across someone that is deaf and needing to sign for them their way could get confusing and frustrating for both. tho the deaf in my family very patient. so ty for always doing it that way so we learn it correctly

Hey, I really love your videos! But I have a question. Do you know other ways to learn Sign language? Like if I was learning Spanish I would use flash cards and tape the cards on that object. You really can’t do that with sign language because it’s hands singles. Do you have any ideas on learning while going on with life? I really want know learn because I was born deaf outta both ears for 16 years, and I was not allowed in a deaf school because I have hearing aids that’s the reason why I don’t know sign and also I’m the only deaf person in my family so I can’t learn from my family. And part being deaf I have a comprehension problem mainly because I’m deaf so it’s really hard for ,e to understand things so I was wondering if you know any tips?

Why does it have to be called American Sign Language (ASL)? I’m sure a lot of other countries use it too so why not change it & call it the Universal Sign Language (USL)
Please try to fingerspell "witch." The idea of the hooked nose caricature is an antisemitic (anti-Jewish) stereotype. It's a demonization of a semi-common feature in a lot of white Jewish people and some Jewish people of color. It's extremely offensive and "witch" is an easy one to fingerspell.
But she should be not teaching, she is NOT deaf. I am 100% deaf and I wanted to tell you guys it is wrong to learn ASL from a hearing person. She is taking advance of our sign language to be famous.
I’m hearing with a deaf child and husband. I followed this channel in the very beginning because I didn’t know better but as soon as I learned deaf culture and immersed myself in the community I learned hearing teaching isn’t ok and I’ve never followed one since. We also have a deaf mentor now and I continue to take classes from only deaf teachers. I’ve learned so much better with voice off! I’m not sure why this channel still shows up but I wish she would stop or hiring someone in the deaf community. She won’t though because I’ve commented about it before and I’m sure others have too. 🎯💯🤟

I sign black from my eyebrow I was taught because it usually the darkest part of someone’s face.. like how red is on lips
